GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following overweights when no other riders were available to ride at the weight:
RACE 1 – TENNAGAIN – J FELIX +3.0KG
RACE 2 – MISSION DE QUO - J FELIX +1.5KG
RACE 3 – QUEENBEEL -- J FELIX +0.5KG
RACE 5 –  MISHANI PERFECTION - J FELIX + 4.0KG
 
The following horses were scratched due to no riders being available –

RACE 2 ADASHAN,  ANCIENT STYLE, HEAD BEE, JUNGLEDELI
RACE 4 NASA (No Rider available at the allocated weight)
 
The Club Veterinary Surgeon Dr Viero reported that she personally sustained a crush injury (shoulder and right foot) whilst in the process of providing treatment to MINA’S LEGACY post-Race 1.
 
 
Race 1: HARCOO GROUP BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 800M
 
AURA GOLD – Trainer L Finch was questioned regarding the improved performance of the mare in winning today’s event in comparison to the mare’s previous start (9th of 10 at Home Hill) on 2 November 2024. Ms Finch advised that AURA GOLD had done well since its first up run at Home Hill and whilst she had not supported the mare today, she was confident of its chances based on trackwork. She stated that she had made minor variations to the horses feed regime. The explanation was noted.
 
MINA’S LEGACY – Approaching the 200 metres MINA’S LEGACY was immediately eased down due to sustaining a fracture in the off foreleg. The mare was quickly attended to by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was humanely euthanized. This incident will be referred to the Equine Welfare and Veterinary Department.
 
BASQUE - Jockey S McGovern reported that the saddle of BASQUE shifted back shortly after jumping placing him at a disadvantage. It was noted that Jockey S McGovern which narrowly held third place, stopped riding his mount approaching the winning post. When questioned he advised that he was in difficulty due to the saddle shifting.
 
Race 2: CHARTERS TOWERS FUNERALS AND MONUMENTAL QTIS Maiden Plate 1000M
 
REMEMBER ROY - Overraced when leading in the middle stages. Jockey M McDonald pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(7) in that he used his whip in an excessive manner by striking the gelding 10 times prior to the 100 metres which is 5 more times than is permitted. Jockey M McDonalds licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of  8 days to commence midnight 28 November 2024 and to expire 6 December 2024.
 
BETHEHORSE – Fractious in the barriers requiring Apprentice M Campbell to dismount.
 
Race 3: JETT INDUSTRIAL SUPPLIES CLASS B Handicap 1000M
 
KLONDIKE STRIKE – Jumped in at the start hampering QUEENBEEL (NZ). Raced three wide for the majority.
 
ROGUE ‘N’ READY - Jockey M McDonald dropped his whip at the 300 metres.
 
QUEENBEEL (NZ) – Hampered on jumping. Jockey J Felix dropped his whip at the 150 metres.
 
Race 4: HONEYCOMBES MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200M
 
Due to a power blackout in the general Pentland district, a power generator was obtained to enable photo finish and race caller services, and this race was run 40 minutes post the advertised starting time – (3.55 p.m.)

RUSTY ROSE – Checked at the start between runners.
 
Race 5: HAMMER & CO PENTLAND CUP CLASS 4 Handicap 1600M
 
YOU ARE KING – Overraced in early and middle stages.
