RACE 1: RICHMOND LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m POETTS MOMENT Fractious in the barriers. Reared as the start was effected. Wide in the early stages. Jockey F. GALLANT SAGA Wide rounding the home turn. RACE 2: FOX HELICOPTER SERVICES CLASS B HANDICAP 1200m Upon returning to scale Jockey A. Spradau, the rider of second place getter SUNNIC KING, lodged an objection against the winner JOHNNY FIX IT, ridden by Jockey F. Edwards, on grounds of alleged interference suffered at approximately the 500m. After taking evidence from all relevant parties and viewing the patrol film, Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that had the interference not occurred the margin of 1 would be reversed and therefore dismissed the protest. In further considering the interference near the 500m, Stewards were of the opinion that when SUNNIC KING attempted to improve into a marginal position inside JOHNNY FIX IT, which was racing tight with NUNCIUS (K. Ballard) and MESSINES ROSE (S. Mossman), JOHNNY FIX IT was pressured inwards and subsequently SUNNIC KING had to be steadied. As Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that any one rider was careless in their actions the interference was recorded as a racing incident. WICKED INVESTMENT Stood flat footed and was slow to muster speed despite the efforts of its rider and lost significant ground in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority. Trainer K.
