RICHMOND TURF CLUB – SATURDAY 28th SEPTEMBER 2019.

General
 
As jockey R. McMahon was not riding today’s meeting, he was replaced as per stewards summary.   
 
Race 1 – MUD HUT Class 4 Plate - 1000M     
 
LORD WINDERMERE - Began well however after travelling about 200m began to lose ground and finished tailed off. Rider on being interviewed advised the gelding was having its first start on this track and resented the kickback. She further advised that around the 600m she had shifted wider on the track without the desired result. Post-race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. 
 
TANGO RAIN – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. 
 
INCISION – Raced wide rounding the home turn.   
 
Race 2 – AMMONITE INN Class B Handicap - 1000M
 
PLEATED MISS – Bumped with another runner on jumping and shifted out.
 
GOT THE TICKETS - Bumped by another runner on jumping.
 
HAVE A GO JOE – Rider advised the gelding had struck the side of the barrier gate on jumping resulting in it jumping awkwardly. 
 
FAIRMONT - Raced wide throughout.
 
LAUNDROMAT JOE – Raced wide throughout.  Rider reported gelding resented the kickback throughout.   
 
STRYKINGLY SO – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
Race 3 - RICHMOND NEWSAGENCY Maiden Plate - 1200M 
 
MEXICAN YELL - Stood flat-footed and began awkwardly. 
 
PRINCIPLE – Shifted in passing the 1000m momentarily inconveniencing another runner before being corrected. 
 
CLARION – Shifted in passing the 1000m to avoid heels of another runner.
 
REASON FOR TREASON – Bumped inwards passing the 1000m by another runner which had shifted inwards to avoid the heels of  another runner to its outside which also shifted in. Switched wide passing the 800m to avoid kick back.
 
SHEINLIN – Raced wide throughout. 
 
HINA MATSURI – Raced wide throughout.

Race 4 – FEDERAL PALACE Open Plate - 1400M   
 
SNIPPTY STRATEGIC – Fractious in barriers. Improved onto heels near the 800m and had to be steadied. 
 
BEAUDRAGON – Stewards interviewed trainer J. Morris in regards to the apparent improvement in the performance in view of its recent runs. Mr Morris stated the gelding had raced with out luck at previous starts and in his opinion was a horse that is not always entirely genuine and needs things to fall into place. Stewards noted his explanation. 
 
Race 5 – LAIDLOW’S SUPERMARKET Benchmarket 60 Handicap - 1400M   
 
ROCK TSAR - Slow to begin. 
 
TEXT ME - Ridden hard in the early stages to gain the lead. Commenced to tire leaving 600m and finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have the thumps.  Veterinary Surgeon recommended heart auscultation examination after a good work out before again starting in a race.
 
DREAMWARD BOUND – Pulled up lame after losing its off hind hoof. Veterinary certificate of fitness required prior to next start.
