Race 1: MONTY O'SULLIVAN 43RD BT AIF MEMORIAL CLASS B HANDICAP 1000 METRES TOSS OF A COIN - Was at late scratching at 1.20pm acting on veterinary advice after being very fractious in the mounting yard.Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on TOSS OF A COIN were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and place getters prior to 4:22pm were:7 cents in the dollar for the place9 cents in the dollar for the winTrainer Ms S. Royes was advised the mare must successfully trial under race day conditions and a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to the mare again being permitted to start in a race. ANNIE LIGHTFOOT – Fractious in the mounting yard.Trainer J. Bawden was advised a warning would be placed on the mares pre-race behavior.Raced wide throughout. MISS VALLETTA – Raced wide rounding the home turn. MISS ELLEY – Jockey T Brummell advised the mare raced uncomfortably at times during the race and may not have appreciated the track conditions as it was having its first start in this area.Jockey Brummell was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he did use his whip in an excessive manner (16 times) throughout the event. Race 2: WJ & VM HARRINGTON & DAUGHTER ANNIE CORAL SEA MEMORIAL MAIDEN PLATE 1200 METRES MATCHFOX – A pre-race veterinary examination found the gelding to be lame in the near fore fetlock and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 12.40pm on veterinary advice.Trainer J. Bawden advised veterinary certificate of clearance required prior to next start.Betting had not commenced at this time. DEVIL’S NUMBER – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start GOOD TO DREAM – Slow into stride.Hung out rounding the home turn shifting very wide on the track.Trainer T. Parry advised a warning is being placed on the mares racing manners. MR TYCOON- Approaching then 900 metresmade contact with the inside running rail and commenced racing ungenerously for a short distance.Rider advised the gelding was having its first start in area and was not appreciating thekickback.Trainer S. Locke advised a warning is being placed on the geldings racing manners. Race 3: HUGHES EARTHMOVING BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200 METRES NITRO CITY – Began awkwardly and shifted outwards bumping with another runner. HICKSON – Bumped by another runner on jumping and raced wide in the early and middle stages. CLARION – Raced wide in the middle stages and rounding the home turn. SILENTUS – Raced wide rounding then home turn. Race 4: LT COL HARRY MURRAY VICTORIA CROSS BENCHMARK 69 HANDICAP 1200 METRES SNIPPY STRATEGIC – Momentarily eased off the heels of another runner approaching the 600 m. Jockey J.Babarovichwas reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he did use his whip in an excessive manner (15 times) throughout the event. ESCADAY – Raced wide rounding the home turn. Race 5: RI MCCLYMONT MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP1400 METRES FIRE RANGER – Slow into stride.
