GENERAL
 
Prior to the running of this race meeting all riders were subject to a breath analysis test.
 
 
 
Race 1: LT COL HARRY MURRAY VICTORIA CROSS BENCHMARK 45
HANDICAP 1000m

 
BRIDEZILLA – A pre-race veterinary examination was conducted which revealed the mare to have swelling to both hind legs. Following this examination BRIDEZILLA was declared a late scratching at 12:43pm on veterinary advice. Trainer T Parry was advised that BRIDEZILLA will require a veterinary clearance including the results of an X-Ray and ultrasound to both hind legs prior to racing again.
 
KINGMATE- Slow to begin.Raced wide early.
 
TABOO – Shifted out abruptly at the start hampering STRYKE A NERV. Raced wide throughout. Trainer T Parry was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
 
 
STRYKE A NERV- Hampered on jumping when TABOO shifted out. Jockey J Baker advised Stewards on returning to scale that the gelding felt awkward in its action. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have soreness in the hindquarters. Trainer L Bowker was advised the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
 
MA BELLA ROSIE- Raced wide throughout.
 
 
 
 
Race 2: WJ & VM HARRINGTON & DAUGHTER ANNIE CORAL SEA
MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1000m
 
 
TORQUE SENSATION- Jumped awkwardly.
 
BELLEOFTHEHUNTER- Raced keenly soon after jumping and had to be restrained after improving onto the heels of another runner and lost considerable ground.
 
FAR REACHING- Raced wide for the majority.
 
SARANDOS- Raced wide for the majority.
 
SCARPA- Raced wide throughout.
 
TIME FOR PEACE – Jockey D Ballard was replaced by jockey J Babarovich as Trainer D Finter had not requested an overweight of 0.50kg for Jockey Ballard by the prescribed time.
 
Race 3: HUGHES EARTHMOVING OPEN PLATE 1200m
 
 
GRAND SYMPHONY – Declared a late scratching by stewards at 2:55pm on veterinary advice. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all monies invested on GRAND SYMPHONY to be refunded with the following deductions applicable on all bets placed prior to 2:55pm:
8 cents in the dollar for all win bets
9 cents in the dollar for all place bets

FACTORY WARRIOR- Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
PRIMAL SCREAM- Raced wide for the majority.

The start of this race was delayed when COLONEL VON TRAPP refused to load, furtherJockey P Cullen, rider of ST ROSE was injured in the barriers after his mount became fractious and jockey Cullen was unable to fulfill his riding commitment. Both runners were declared late scratching’s at 4:01pm.Stewards order all bets invested on COLONEL VON TRAPP and ST ROSE to be refunded and declared the following deductions applicable on all bets prior to 4:01pm.
 
37 cents in the dollar for the win bets.
28 cents in the dollar for all place bets.
 
 
ROUGH EDGES- Slow to begin.
 
SENKO- Bounded on jumping.
 
CRACKLE CAUSE- Raced wide throughout.

BOLD ENFORCER- Hung in during the early stages and raced wide throughout.
 
SAND AND OCEAN- Jumped awkwardly bumping another runner.
 
MADONNA FALLS- Bounded in the air on jumping. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
EXALTED- Raced wide during the middle stages and rounding the home turn.
