STEWARDS REPORT – Saturday 7th, June 2003


STEWARDS PANEL: P Cooper (Chairman), N Vagg, N. Fox & D. Macklyn


WEATHER – Fine TRACK – Good
RAIL – Short Course – True
Long Course – Out 3m from 800m to the 400 metres.


RACE 1: MAIDEN H’CAP -1000 METRES (9 STARTERS)
Jockey M. Aspinall was charged with a breach of AR118(A) and fined the sum of $100.00 for changing gear after weighing out.
ALL TORQUE (G. Evans) hung out during the middle stages of the event. SPLINTEX (S. Quick) raced greenly from approximately the 800mtr mark to the home turn. WIKED INSTINCT (M. Rice) made heavy contact with the running and became unbalanced at the 300mtr mark.

RACE 2: CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1000 METRES (10 STARTERS)
MY TRUE STAR (S. Quick) was slow into stride as the start was effected.


RACE 3: 2YO MAIDEN H'CAP - 1100 METRES (7 STARTERS)
MISS KANOOT (H. Watanabe) was a late scratching at 1.00pm by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice.
As the start was effected MISS ALYTA (M. Rice) jumped away awkwardly. At the 700mtr mark RERUN (M. Aspinall) commenced to hang out which resulted in MISS ALYTA (M. Rice) and KON TIKI ROSE (S. Quick) being taken wide on the track.
Jockey Sean Campton sustained an injury to his right left after his mount DANRAQUAL jumped awkwardly at the start brushing against the barrier gate. Jockey Campton received initial medical treatment from the course Ambulance Official.


RACE 4: CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1200 METRES (8 STARTERS)
TELEWIN (A. Pattillo) and RAMEKA (P. Saunders) came together on more than one occasion over the concluding stages.

RACE 5: 3YO CLASS 6 H'CAP – 1300 METRES (10 STARTERS)
As the start was effected TYCOON TED (R. Mules) jumped outwards and made contact with VINDICATION (M. Barnham).
Apprentice Kylie Cunningham was advised to show more care after permitting her mount NUTGRASS to shift outwards at the 150mtr mark.
Jockey Nathan Evans was admonished for permitting his mount PAPER KINGS to shift inwards at the 50mtr mark and inconvenience NUTGRASS (K. Cunningham).




RACE 6: CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1400 METRES (10 STARTERS).
At approximately the 1200mtr mark NIMAGIRRA (D. Whitmore) shifted outwards and at the same time SIN CITY (P. Saunders) shifted inwards, this resulted in WYNYA (M. Unwin) who was travelling between the two runners having to be steadied. Stewards advised both Jockey D. Whitmore and Jockey P. Saunders to show more care in the future. Further to the inside of NIMAGIRRA, GNAEUS POMPEIUS (H. Watanabe) shifted inwards to avoid NIMAGIRRA this resulted in MANSMAHMOUD (M. Evans) becoming inconvenienced.
Trainer M. Crouch was fined the sum of $50.00 under the terms of AR140(A) for negligence in the saddling of SWEET CITY SIOUX in that he did present the horse with the incorrect gear.

RACE 7: SPECIAL CONDITIONS H'CAP – 1600 METRES (8 STARTERS)
As jockey Sean Campton was indisposed, Stewards permitted Roy Mules to be the replacement rider of BARSAC.
No racing incidents to report.




ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.

BOOKMAKERS: Four (8) bookmakers fielded at the race meeting.
