PalmerSUPPLEMENTARY REPORT: Rockhampton 30th April 2015Race 6: XXXX Bitter BM 60 HandicapStewards reconvened an inquiry into Jockey Dale Evans' riding of MANILA ACADEMY In Race 6. Today further evidence was taken from trainer S. Rundle and it was noted that there was no significant betting activity on the horse and no abnormal betting activity on the race. Stewards gave careful consideration to all of the evidence, however were of the opinion that the evidence did not meet the required standard to sustain a charge against Jockey Evans. Nevertheless, Jockey Evans was advised to ensure that his riding leaves no room for query.------------Race 1: The Rockhampton Grammar School QTIS 3YO Handicap - 1200 metres 1st EKKAREEZA 2nd SERENE SAGA 3rd QUICK ASSAULT 4th - OUR NEDDY BOY DASH OF WIZZARD - Slow into stride. Jockey D. Evans pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A. R. 137(a) in that near the 250 metres he permitted his mount to shift out when not sufficiently clear of OUR NEDDY BOY, which was checked. DASH OF WIZZARD continued to shift out and made heavy contact with STYLISH LUCK, which was taken out onto JEWEL BANGLES. Stewards were mindful of Jockey Evans’ plea, and record however given the level of carelessness and severity, Jockey Evans was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 5 CQ meetings, to commence at midnight on 23rd May up to and including 11th June 2015.STYLISH LUCK - A little slow to begin. Raced fiercely in the middle stages.JEWEL BANGLES - A little slow to begin. Bumped near the 1000 metres. Raced wide throughout.QUICK ASSAULT - Near the 1000 metres shifted out and bumped another runner. Raced three wide for the remainder of the event.Jockey D. Evans, rider of DASH OF WIZZARD, reprimanded under A.R. 142 for failing to weigh in for 5th.OUR NEDDY BOY - The start was delayed when the gelding was reluctant to proceed to the barriers, and it was only after being led and the rider dismounted that the gelding proceeded to the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that OUR NEDDY BOY had a slow heart rate. In regards to the pre-race manners, Trainer J. Wehlow was advised that it must barrier trial satisfactorily before being permitted to race again.Race 2: The Diana McLellan Memorial BBB QTIS 2YO Maiden Handicap - 1200 metres 1st CASINO THOUGHTS 2nd WHISKEY LAD 3rd I EXCEED 4th - CHARSON’S GIFT SHROUDED - App. Darren Evans was permitted to claim only 2kg of his 3kg claim, in order to use more appropriate race gear.BABES COPYRIGHT - Was difficult to load into the barriers.COURTZIG - Slow to begin.CRAIGLEA ARNIE - Slow to begin.NINETTE KAN - Hung out near the 700 metres.CHARSON'S GIFT - Raced wide throughout.I EXCEED – Raced wide throughout. Jockey P. Romeo reported that his mount hung out from the 600 metres and could not be fully tested in the home straight.Stewards inquired into an incident near the 900 metres. It was established that PRINCESS JOEY (A. Lawrence) Near the 900m raced keenly when being restrained. and BOTTEGA LOUIE (Jockey D. Evans) rolled in and tightened CRAIGLEA ARNIE (App. J. Missen) and BABES COPYRIGHT (App. R. Payne), both of which were racing greenly. BABES COPYRIGHT was unable to hold its position and lost ground.Race 3: XXXX Gold Winter Carnival May 28 - June 20 F&M Maiden Handicap - 1050 metres 1st JUST ONE WISH 2nd SOUL SERENADE 3rd LAYAN 4th - SAVANNAHZEES PURE CHARM - Dislodged its rider, App. N. Vuille, during its preliminary. Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the filly at 1.52 p.m. Deductions to be applied to winning bets;JUST ONE WISH- 0 cents Win, 1 cent PlaceSOUL SERENADE- 1 cent placeLAYAN- 2 cents placeCRYSTAL BEACH - Slow to begin.NATONYA - Began awkwardly. App. N. Summers was fined $300 under A.R.137A (4)(a) in that near the 200 metres she struck her mount in the vicinity of its head.At the start DIVA MISS and SAVANNAHZEES were tightened for room between LAYAN and JUST ONE WISH, both of which shifted ground.CRACK OF DAWN - Approaching the 900 metres hung out. ANDAR ROYAL and MONIIKA - Raced wide throughout.Race 4: 4RO Celebration Racing Heritage 28 May C&G Maiden Handicap - 1050 metres 1st SUPERIOR DRAGON 2nd MOWER 3rd FEELIN' THE HEAT 4th - OUTBACK WRANGLER FLY ONCE MORE - Trainer J. Lewis reported that both hind legs of the gelding had been galloped on. Stewards inquired into an incident that occurred near the 900 metres. Jockey M. Barnham was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that he used insufficient effort to prevent FLY ONCE MORE from shifting in when insufficiently clear of ROLLING ART, which was checked, clipped the heels of FLY ONCE MORE and blundered, and caused I LOVE KANDE to be tightened for room and hampered. Jockey Barnham was suspended from riding in races for a period covering 3 CQ meetings, to commence at midnight on 23rd May 2015, up to and including Friday, 5 June 2015.FEELIN' THE HEAT - Began awkwardly and lost ground.SUPERIOR DRAGON - Began awkwardly and lost ground.ROLLING ART - Was slow to begin. ASSASSINOU - Near the 1000 metres was placed in restricted room when FLY ONCE MORE (M. Barnham) shifted in, then commenced to race ungenerously and hung out near the 900 metres and again near the 600 metres. Jockey Barnham was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was displaying a poor recovery rate and had an awkward gait, however there were no significant abnormalities.Due to a misunderstanding App. R. Payne was dually engaged for OUTBACK WRANGLER and I LOVE KANDE. App. Darren Evans was substituted as the rider of I LOVE KANDE. Race 5: Grant & Simpson Lawyers Class 1 Handicap - 1050 metres 1st LEAD THE WAY 2nd BEST HURRAH 3rd MACGYVER 4th - BENJI Jockey S. Sheargold was reprimanded for being dually engaged for MACGYVER and RHAEGARS FIRE. Jockey J. Missen was substituted as the rider of RHAEGARS FIRE.BENJI - Slow into stride.BAFFLE and JETERIN were both fractious in the barriers, underwent veterinary examinations and were cleared to take their place in the field. Warnings will be placed on the barrier manners of their horses.LALITA - Shifted in at the start and made contact with HOT PLATE.POSITIVE OUTLOOK - Raced wide throughout.JETERIN - Raced wide throughout. Following the race Jockey T. O'Hara reported that she had sustained an apparent muscle injury to her back and was unable to fulfil her further engagement. Jockey O'Hara was advised that she must obtain a medical clearance prior to being permitted to ride again.RHAEGARS FIRE - Slow to begin then raced wide throughout.LEAD THE WAY - Raced wide until near the 700 metres. Race 6: Centre Stage Signs Class 3 Plate - 1400 metres 1st - CHAMPAGNE TALES 2nd - ABSOLUTELYANYTHING 3rd - THUNDA COOKIE 4th - DYNA ROSEHILLCREST - When Jockey T. O'Hara became indisposed, Jockey A. Butler was substituted. Raced wide throughout.DYNA ROSE - Was fractious in the barriers, removed and examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field.ETERNO - Slow to begin.MR RAINMAKER - Dipped on jumping. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had congestion in the lungs and a nasal discharge. Trainer J.
