Race 1: Touch QTIS 2-Y-O Maiden Handicap - 1050 metres
1st CHEEKY RED 2nd SIR TRUSTICE 3rd LADY STIRLING 4th - SAGA QUEEN

LADY STIRLING - Made contact with another runner on jumping

MANY CLOUDS - Contacted by another runner on jumping.

SAGA QUEEN – Began awkwardly.

HAYYLER’S CROSS- Laid out on several occasions in the straight.

LEGAL DECISION - Ducked in abruptly near the 100 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the filly had two loose front teeth with no blood present in its mouth.

CELESTIAL SON - Jockey D. Evans reported that his mount did not show early speed and in his opinion its performance proved disappointing.

NEON MAGIC - Near the 200 metres laid in, resulting in HAYYLER'S TARY having to be eased.

HAYYLER’S TARY- Eased near the 200 metres.

SIR TRUSTICE - Held up for clear running in the early part of the straight until the 400 metres.

Race 2: Welsh and Lauga QTIS 2-Y-O Handicap - 1100 metres
1st STARANTE 2nd HELLUVA HOFFA 3rd UNCANNY REASON 4th - FLAT TO STACK

Prior to the declaration of correct weight S. Sigvart, the trainer of FLAT TO STACK viewed the photo finish image for 3rd. After doing so, he was satisfied as to the judge’s placings and correct weight was declared.

CRUNCH TIME - Began awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with UNCANNY REASON.

UNCANNY REASON - Bounded in the air at the start and contacted another runner, then raced wide without cover from the 700 metres.

FLAT TO STACK - Began awkwardly. Following the race Jockey C. McIver sought attention from the Ambulance Officers after being struck in the face. Whilst Jockey McIver has sustained an injury, he was cleared to fulfil his further engagements.

HELLUVA HOFFA - Near the 800 metres had to be eased from the heels of another runner.

MISS SCHIFFER - Raced wide without cover throughout.

Apprentice N. Summers was fined $400 under A.R. 137A for using her whip on FLAT TO STACK 4 times more than is permitted under the rule, twice consecutively.

Race 3: Ray White Rockhampton City Maiden Handicap - 1100 metres
1st BOMBER MISS 2nd ZIZA SPIRIT 3rd OUTBACK PIRATE 4th - FLEURETTA BROWN

BOMBER MISS - As Jockey N. Day was not riding at the meeting, and no senior rider was available to ride the mare at its weight, Apprentice C. Jokic was substituted.

CAN'T ESCAPE ME - Began awkwardly, bounded in the air then raced wide without cover throughout.

FLEURETTA BROWN - Began awkwardly.

DRAGONMOSS - Raced wide with cover.

ZIZA SPIRIT - Was inclined to hang out in the middle stages.

Race 4: Grandin Brut Hats and Heels High Tea Friday 8 April QTIS 3YO Handicap - 1200 metres
1st EMBRACE THE PAIN 2nd CAPTAIN ADRIATIC 3rd COURTZIG 4th - PRINCESS RHYTHM

POWER ON HARRY - At the start shifted in and made significant contact with PRINCESS RHYTHM, with POWER ON HARRY being unbalanced and CAPTAIN ADRIATIC to be tightened for room between PRINCESS RHYTHM and POWER ON HARRY. Shortly after the start POWER ON HARRY became awkward and shifted back in, causing CAPTAIN ADRIATIC to be further inconvenienced. Near the 300 metres and again near the 100 metres POWER ON HARRY shifted out when struck with the whip. A post-race veterinary examination of POWER ON HARRY revealed that the gelding was suffering from heat stress.

CAPTAIN ADRIATIC- At the start, tightened between runners. Further inconvenienced by outside runner which shifted inwards.

DUDOOMP - Raced wide without cover throughout.

COURTZIG - Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. When questioned regarding his riding in the straight, Jockey D. Evans said that his mount was inclined to lay out near the 400 metres and when he was able to change his whip near the 100 metres the horse responded to his riding.

Race 5: Ray White Rockhampton City BM 55 Handicap - 1600 metres
1st PERFECTLY ALIGNED 2nd RADIANT JOY 3rd BILO BAR 4th - TARA'S RANSOM

POINT LEO - A little slow to begin.

SAMMY SPARROW - Proved difficult to load, began awkwardly and made contact with GEMINI KING.

RADIANT JOY - Jockey A. Allen reported that his mount struck itself in the off foreleg during running.

CHLORIDE - Stewards questioned Jockey D. Evans in regard to the performance of the gelding. Jockey Evans said that after beginning well CHLORIDE was taken on for the lead and near the 500 metres commenced to yield ground and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

GEMINI KING - When questioned regarding the disappointing performance Jockey A. Coome stated that his mount failed to travel well throughout. Trainer R. Vale said that he will review its current preparation and advise stewards accordingly.

PERFECTLY ALIGNED - Trainer J. Lancaster was questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance of the gelding. She said that this was the gelding's third start for the stable today and it was suited by the distance of the event. She added that she would now nominate PERFECTLY ALIGNED for races over a similar or longer distances.

BILO BAR - Apprentice C. Jokic was fined $100 under A.R. 137A for using the whip on the gelding on 2 occasions more than is permitted under the rule.

Race 6: Sharon Mylrea Fashions On the Field Sat 9 April BM 60 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st- SHEPIKTUS 2nd- GYPSY SECRET 3rd- JUST ONE WISH 4th - DARK ANGEL

JUST ONE WISH - Began awkwardly.

HYPER DRIVE - Began awkwardly.

DARK ANGEL - Near the 900 metres laid out and had to be eased when racing to the inside of JUST ONE WISH.

MIDNIGHT CURFEW - Raced wide without cover throughout.

BIG BABA LOOEY - Apprentice S. Fawke was fined $100 under A.R. 137A for using the whip on the gelding on 1 more occasion than permitted under the rule.

Race 7: XXXX Gold Class 3 Plate - 1300 metres
1st - SANOSUKE 2nd - DOUBLE DRAMA 3rd - EL CAPO 4th - KLISSTRA

DASH OF WIZZARD - The reason tendered by trainer D. Durand for the late declaration of Jockey C. McIver as the rider of the gelding was accepted.

SANOSUKE - The start was delayed when the gelding had to be re-saddled behind the barriers. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was suffering from heat stress.

EL CAPO - Slow to begin.

MAMSELLE CORDAY - Raced wide without cover throughout.

ELOVACHILL - Raced wide with cover throughout.
