Jockey J. Stephens was fined $200 for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.

Race 3
 
When Mr T Cook was able to have further evidence entered into the inquiry, Stewards considered the charge and subsequently Apprentice Z. White, rider of Toxphily, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding and was suspended from riding in races for a period of 10 days, to commence at midnight, Saturday, 18 March and to conclude on Thursday, 28 March. 
 
Race 4
 
Connections advised that following this race Bauhinia Storm would be sent for a spell.
 
Race 7
 
Stewards inquired into the late scratching of Gypsy Secret in which it was reported that the mare had been scratched due to the soft track. After further investigation, the soft track bar was removed, however Trainer C. Garland was fined $200 for the late scratching.
Race 1: Tropical Auto Group Open H'cap – 1300m
1st- Mamselle Corday   2nd- Just Call Me Louie    3rd- Gypsy Secret   4th- Hot Love Highway
 
COURTZIG - Stewards inquired into the late nomination, acceptance and scratching of the horse. Trainer C Thompson outlined the circumstances for the late nomination and acceptance. He further stated that the horse had failed to eat up sufficiently in the days leading up to the race and on race morning had a high temperature, which required its scratching. The horse was subsequently inspected by the race day veterinary surgeon and found not fit to race.
 
GYPSY SECRET – Slow to begin.
 
HOT LOVE HIGHWAY – Began awkwardly.
 
JUST CALL ME LOUIE – Jockey S. Sheargold was fined $200 for weighing in in excess of half a kilogram over his declared riding weight.
 
 
Race 2: MSP Photography QTIS 2yo C&G H'cap – 1100m  
1st- Bold Endeavour    2nd- Allround Glory   3rd- Jusalad    4th- Real Lucky
 
REAL LUCKY – Slow to begin. Laid in for the majority of the straight.
 
JUSTALAD – Slow to begin.
 
REPLACEMENT – Jockey D. Simmons reported his mount hung out throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed it to be mildly lame in the off foreleg.
 
Race 3: Griffin Builders QTIS 2yo Fillies H'cap – 1100m
1st- Paradis Imperial   2nd- Stylish Criminal    3rd- Red Runner   4th- Undercover Girl
 
DREAM COMMANDER – The late declaration of J. Stephens as the rider for the horse was accepted.
 
RED RUNNER – Slow to begin.
 
BAUHINIA DROUGHT – Buffeted when contacted by TOXOPHILY and lost some ground.
 
NATURE’S WAY – Raced wide without cover throughout. Near the 400 metres, when tiring shifted out under pressure, causing STYLISH CRIMINAL to shift out onto HOURGLASS TIME.
 
PARADIS IMPERIAL- Had difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 400 metres.
 
Race 4: Stage and Audio Maiden Handicap- 1050 metres       
1st- Tabitha Magic    2nd- Tuxedo Boy   3rd- Causing Mayhem   4th- Uno Katy
 
EASY AS PYE – The explanation for the late declaration of rider for the horse was accepted. Stood flatfooted and lost ground at the start. A warning would be applied. 
 
CALL ME KEV – Slow to begin.  When TEST MY FRIENDSHIP was restrained and raced ungenerously near the 700 metres, eased from its heels.  
 
TABITHA MAGIC – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer S. Sigvart stated that the horse had appreciated being on the grass surface given that its 2 previous starts were on sand, and also the softer track and increase in distance. He was also mindful of the strength of this particular race.
 
KURAMOS – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
UNO KATY – Shifted out under pressure in the straight.
 
TEST MY FRIENDS – Near the 700 metres, restrained and raced ungenerously momentarily.
 
Race 5: Pat O’Driscoll Real Estate/St Patrick’s Day Cup Benchmark 65 H'cap - 1600 metres  
1st- I Can I Will I Am   2nd- Claim The Throne   3rd- Glory City   4th- Bold Avenue
 
SAN RAYMOND – Slow into stride.  Shifted out under pressure when struck with the whip from the 150m.
 
GLADISHING – Raced wide with cover.
 
BOLD AVENUE – Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
CLAIM THE THRONE – Apprentice Q. Krogh reported he had not intended to lead but when caught wide in the early stages he elected to lead from near the 900m.
 
Race 6: Ian Weigh Motors QTIS 3yo H'cap – 1200m  
1st – Party Pardee    2nd – Quick And Easy   3rd – Helluva Hoffa   4th- King Torio
 
The starting time for this race was delayed when held for an interstate metropolitan meeting.
 
CAPE HALIFAX – Slow to begin.
 
QUICK AND EASY – Began awkwardly and raced 3 wide without cover until near the 700m.
 
 
Race 7: Tony Madden Arthitechts & Ineriors Benchmark 60 H'cap - 1200 metres 
1st – Conca Del Sogno    2nd – Shigeru Mahogany   3rd – Double Drama    4th- Around The Moon
 
COZUMEL – Declared a late scratching at 11am due to no available rider.
 
EXTRA COVER – Dipped shortly after the start. Improved onto heels near the 900m and lost ground.
 
ANGELS CROWN – Began awkwardly and further inconvenienced when bumped with MUNSTER.
 
CONCA DEL SOGNO – Slow to begin and hampered when another runner jumped inwards.
 
ZATORIO – Near the 900m, when racing in restricted room to the inside of DECALI, was steadied, overreacted and lost ground.
 
MUNSTER – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
SHIGERU MAHOGANY – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had superficial lacerations to its near hind leg.
 
DECALI – A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its off fore suspensory. The horse was treated and x-rays were recommended.  A veterinary certificate would be required if the horse returns to racing.  Trainer J. Wigginton advised that it possibly would be retired.
