Ladbook pleaded guilty to a charge under AR175 (f), in that she did not attend an inquiry on Monday, 18 September when directed on Friday, the 15th, by stewards to do so. In considering penalty, stewards took into consideration her guilty plea, this was her first offence against any racing rule and the circumstances surrounding her non-attendance, and her personal circumstances. Ms Ladbrook was issued a fine of $250. _________________________ Race 1: Catwalk Pink QTIS 3YO Handicap- 1200 metres BARBADOSS STORM Slow into stride. Immediately prior to the winning post laid in and as a result App T. Brooker was obliged to stop riding STELLAAS DREAM at that stage. HIDDEN MIRA Jumped outwards at the start.. Laid in from the 400m. STARENA Began awkwardly and raced wide throughout. Race 2: Centre Stage Signs Maiden Plate- 1200 metres >LENNONNS PADDOCK As M. Bennett was to be overweight, was replaced by C. McIver. After taking into consideration M. Bennettts good record regarding breaches of this rule, a reprimanded was issued. DUANSKILL Underwent a veterinary examination at the start after not having started in more than 12 months and was cleared to start. Jumped outwards and made contact with VAN WINKEL at the start. Laid in on occasions in the straight. VANWINKEL Bumped on jumping away. Raced wide without cover throughout.. Jockey J. Stanley reported that his mount raced erratically in the straight. SOUTHERN SPECIAL Examined by the veterinary examination at the start after not having started in more than 12 months and was cleared to take its place in the field. UNDERCOVER GIRL Fractious prior to the start. Began awkwardly. Held up in the early stages of the straight and obtained clear running near the 200m, then laid out under pressure for the remainder of the race. I TRUST LAYLA Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance, trainer J. Crane advised that its previous two starts had been over shorter distances in which it had back in the field on tighter tracks and had been unable to advance into the race. He believe the increase in distance today to 1200m had been beneficial to the horse. MISS RICH Held up until passing the 200m. Race 3: Aspinall Racing Class 4 Handicap- 1600 metres DANE CHEVAL Declared a late scratching at 7.36 am due to an elevated temperature. KING MAX Jockey J. Stanley was reprimanded for use of his whip on more than 5 occasions in the straight.. In consideration of penalty, stewards were mindful that this was his second breach of this rule since its introduction. EXTRA COVER Slow to begin. CRIMSON GOD -Stood flat-footed, was slow to begin and lost ground. Trainer T. Cook reported that the horse had made some respiratory noise on pulling up. He undertook to have the horse scoped. He also reported that the horse had failed to stretch out on the track surface. He undertook to advise stewards of the scoping results in the coming days. HYPER DRIVE Apprentice T. Brooker reported that she had been instructed to be positive on her mount and that the horse had found the lead of its own accord. Race 4: USG Boral Class 4 Handicap- 1100 metres METEORRS MAN - Began awkwardly, raced 3 wide without cover throughout, and, in the opinion of its rider, was disappointing. FUTUREAL - Became fractious in the barriers and as start was effected bounded and lost some ground. Raced wide with cover. Trainer R. Vale viewed the patrol films of the start prior to correct weight. After doing so he was satisfied as to the start and correct weight was declared on the Judgees placings. ROOI ROE Leaving the 300 metres, eased momentarily when Brooker shifted out. LIKER - Raced wide with cover. SHIGERU MAHOGANY Stewards will interview rider A. Butler regarding his use of the whip on the horse. Race 5: Central Park Motel BM 75 Handicap - 1050 metres EKKLESTONE - Jumped away awkwardly. PRINCELY - Raced wide throughout. Following the event it was reported that the saddle on the horse had slipped forward in the early stages of the race which resulted in it being difficult to ride and unable to be ridden out. GYPSY SECRET Disappointed for clear running until near the 200m when held up on the heels of Four Excel. DAM WONDERFUL For a short distance approaching the 200 metres, raced in restricted room and shifted out to obtain clear running. Stewards opened an inquiry into the running and performance of the horse. Evidence was taken from the trainer and rider, and the matter was adjourned to a date and time to be fixed. A post-race veterinary examination of the horse failed to reveal any abnormalities, that the horse had recovered well, was breathing easily and exhibited no lameness. Race 6: Ace Party Hire BM 55 Handicap- 1100 metres I AM BACCHUS - Slow to begin. THATTS HER I THINK - Jumped in abruptly and hampered POETIC SHOWW CROSS QUESTION - The start of this race was delayed when the horse kicked out in the barriers and its leg was stuck momentarily. The horse was removed, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly and hampered DYNAMIC DRAGON. DYNAMIC DRAGON Hampered at the start. INSOLVENT - Raced wide with cover. GOLFING - Race wide without cover. ROUGISSANTE - A postrace veterinary examination of the horse revealed a laceration to it foreleg. Race 7: Happy 19th Birthday Bradley & Kelvin Class 2 Handicap - 1300 metres RESET OUR WORLD The reason for the late declaration of rider for the horse was accepted.. When C. McIver was dually engaged on Reset Our World and MIMMS POET, stewards gave permission for D. Evans to be the replacement rider on MIMMS POET.. Raced wide throughout. THE CATHOLIC GIRL - Slow into stride. Held up momentarily approaching the 100 metres, and over the concluding stages was awkwardly placed on the heels of DAKOTA ROCKS, which had shifted out under pressure. RUSTY SCOOTER Slow to begin. Stewards inquired into an incident near the 150 metres. It was established that MIMMS POET had shifted in and made contact with SWINGAHINCH, which was weakening and taken inwards, and at this time, THE CATHOLIC GIRL shifted out slightly and caused RUSTY SCOOTER to be tightened and checked. In the circumstances, Jockey D Evans, rider of MIMMS POET, was advised to exercise more care.. FLAT TO STACK Slow to begin. SOUTHERN ALBATROSS Slow to begin and lost ground. SWINGAHINCH - From the 900 metres improved to the outside of DAKOTA ROCKS, and when AMULETO raced to its outside, it commenced to race fiercely and was unable to be restrained. Jockey L. Attard stated he reported to connections to remove all of its gear in order for it to settle. DREAMING DIAMONDS Had to be eased from the heels of LUCIFERRS ANGEL near the 100 metres. PLAIN NN SIMPLE Raced wide throughout.. Rider W. DDAvila dropped his whip near the 500m. CHIEF ADVOCATE Raced wide throughout. MIMMS POET Raced wide throughout. AMULETO - Stewards questioned apprentice T. Brooker in relation to her riding. She stated that her instructions had been to settle with cover, however when she anticipated the pace would slow, she was of the opinion an opportunity existed to race outside or cross the leader. AMULETO raced to outside of SWINGAHINCH from the 800m until near the 600m and was unable to clear that horse, and at that point in the race was unable to restrain and take cover, which resulted in the horse racing 3 wide without cover throughout.
