Mr Oates advised that the mare had pulled up well with no physical abnormalities becoming known. Mr Oates further stated the mare had not been in season and was of the opinion that the mare had not handled the soft track and distance on the day, together with the heat and the travel in the days leading up to the race. Race 1: Adlec Electrical Services Maiden Handicap 1400m LIGHT UP VEGAS Slow to begin. SIEGE OF ENNIS Stood flatfooted and was slow to begin. Laid in from the 200 metres.. OUR HAPPY RAIN Near the 900 metres bumped with BAUHINIA DROUGHT, which became awkward. BAUHINIA DROUGHT Bumped and became awkward near the 900 metres. Race 2: McGarth BenchMark 65 Handicap 1830m PREEN QUEENN - Trainer B. Trimble was fined $100 for the presentation of the horse with winkers.. Stewards inquired into apprentice D Grahamms riding out over the concluding stages. She stated that when she placed her mount under pressure, it shifted out, adding she was aware of a rider to her outside and maintained pressure until the concluding stages. Stewards noted the circumstances of this particular incident, that the horse was tiring and it had not cost it fourth placing, however reminded apprentice Graham that in future a greater effort would be required to ride her mount out to the end of the race. Lost its off hind plate in running. CAPE HALIFAX Laid in from the 400m. DOUBOS- Jockey A Butler will be reminded to ride his mount out to the end of the race. Race 3: Carly-Mae Pye Memorial Open Handicap 1200m GRAND EMPEROR Slow into stride. Over- raced in the early and middle stages and near the 900 metrs had to be restrained from heels and lost ground. Jockey C. Whiteley reported his mount may have come to the end of its preparation.. Trainer T. Bannon confirmed the gelding would now be spelled. WORTHY HERO Made contact on jumping away. PRINCELY Made contact on jumping away. MAMSELLE CORDAY Raced wide without cover throughout. Race 4: Adamms Plant Hire Pty Ltd BenchMark 65 Handicap 1300m LOST CLASSIC Tightened at the start between runners when ATARARTZI jumped outwards. ATARARTZI Jumped outwards at the start. SHEER PERSISTENCE Raced in restricted room in the early stages to the inside of CHIEF ADVOCATE.. Jockey D. Graham used her whip on 10 occasions prior to the 100 metres. CHIEF ADVOCATE- Raced wide without cover throughout. Race 5: Ideal Electrical Class 1 Handicap 1200m CAPTAIN ADRIATIC- Declared a late scratching at 3.27pm due to no available rider. OUR LUCKY LUCY Broke through the barriers after being loaded, however was quickly restrained, underwent a veterinary inspection and was passed to start. ZOE IS THE BEST Slow to begin. Apprentice Graham used her whip 11 times prior to the 100m.. For the charge in Race 4 and Race 5, she was fined $400.. Stewards noted her recent good record regarding whip use, however placed her on notice that a further breach may incur a suspension. RESET DANCER Held up in the early stages of the straight. PROFUSIVE Over-raced in the early stages and raced wide with cover. When questioned regarding the performance, Jockey C. Whitely stated that the horse did not respond to his riding in the straight and proved disappointing. He added he was mindful of the step up in class today after its previous Maiden win. THE CLANG AFFAIR Eased near the 600 metres when tightened between PROFUSIVE and RESET DANCER. FAST TRICK Raced wide with cover throughout. Race 6: Stockland Rockhampton QTIS Three-Years-Old Handicap 1300m TIME FOR LILLY Declared a late scratching at 7.58am due to no available rider. DUAN PHOENIX Stewards permitted Jockey P Romeo ride the horse 1 kilogram overweight. Bumped at the start. BRILLIANT MISTAKE Stewards permitted Apprentice Jockey J. Brand to ride the horse 1 kilogram overweight. STYLISH CRIMINAL Jumped away awkwardly and contacted RIVER BOY. RIVER BOY Bumped at the start. NASTY GAL Jumped inwards at the start onto DUAN PHOENIX. JUSTALAD Commenced to over-race near the 900 metres, and passing the 800 metres shifted out and became awkward. LLAMOUR MALADE Laid out near the 900 metres and lost ground.
