SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS
 
SHORTSPRESSO- Trainer reported that the horse was lame and had soreness in its shoulder. It had also had colic in the day following the race. The horse has now been sent for a spell.
 
ROCK ‘N’ ROLL- With regard to its performance, Trainer J Lancaster reported that horse had pulled up distressed and had not eaten up well since the run. The horse had been sent for a spell.

Stewards reconvened an inquiry in regards to Apprentice A. Sewell’s actions on Siege Of Ennis. Stewards were critical of his actions when the horse was placed in the barrier he had restrained the horse and the horse had failed to jump with the field on this particular occasion. Stewards were of the opinion that Apprentice Sewell’s actions did not rise to the level of culpability under Australian Rule of Racing 135(b) in taking reasonable and permissible measures and did not take any further action.

Apprentice L. Dodds and D. Graham were directed to not take rides lighter than their minimum riding weight, which would cause them to ride overweight. On this particular day they were permitted to ride or were replaced when no other riders were available.

Apprentice T. Williams was fined $200 under AR160(b)(3) in that her mobile phone was in her possession the jockeys room.
 
Race 1: Great Keppel Island Hideaway Kids Fashion on the Field QTIS 2YO Handicap- 1100 Metres
 
KIMMIE KAY – Declared a late scratching at 1.12 pm when unable to be loaded into the barriers, with the following deductions applicable.
 
0 cent in the dollar on the face value of win bets
1 cent in the dollar on the face value of place bets for the win
2 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
 
Trainer was advised that a further barrier certificate would be required prior to its next start.
 
SHENRON – Became fractious in the barriers and got its off foreleg over the barrier partition momentarily.  Rider and veterinary surgeon was satisfied that the horse was fit to race.
 
Rider S. Sheargold was examined by the doctor and cleared to race, and SHENRON was examined by the veterinary surgeon and was satisfied the horse was fit to race.
 
CYCLONE TOPGIRL – Jumped outwards at the start. Shifted out under pressure from the 300m.
 
LOLLIPOP ROCKET – From the 150 metres raced greenly and laid inwards.
 
Race 2: Tony Madden Architects Pty Ltd Class 6 Plate- 1400 Metres
 
AUSSIE TYCOON - Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Began a little awkwardly.
 
DECONSTRUCTED – Slow to begin.
 
Race 3: Great Keppel Island Hideaway Maiden Handicap- 1100 Metres
 
PRESCRIPTION – Declared a late scratching at 1.34 pm on veterinary advice.
 
TRICKY SAGA – Jockey C. Whiteley was not riding at the meeting due to personal reasons. Rider replacements were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet. Jumped in the air at the start and lost some ground.
 
DELCETTO SYRAH – As D. Simmons was not riding at the meeting, S. Sheargold was the replacement rider.
 
GOLDEN MOUNT – Slow to begin and began awkwardly.  Rider J. Stanley reported his mount raced greenly throughout.
 
LIFE’S A WITCH – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
SOUTHERN SPECIAL – Raced wide with cover. Jockey N. Seymour, rider of Tricky Saga, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that near the 300 metres he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of DELCETTO SYRAH, resulting in that horse being tightened, shift out and contact SOUTHERN SPECIAL. Stewards were of the opinion that this was a mid-range offence, however afforded leniency taking into account his plea and his exemplary record, and suspended his licence to ride in races for a period of 10 days, to commence at midnight, Saturday, 23 December, and up to and including 2 January.
 
CHRISSY’S SPIRIT – Lost its off hind plate in running.
 
Race 4: Patlaw Securities U12 100 Kids Sprint Ratings Band 0-55 Handicap - 1050 Metres
 
MARKED FOREVER – Unable to be loaded into the barriers and was declared a late scratching at 2.57 pm. Trainer V. Heading was advised that 2 consecutive barrier certificates must be provided prior to its next race start. The following deductions were applicable:
 
1 cent in the dollar on the face value of win bets
1 cent in the dollar on the face value of place bets for the win
2 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
4 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets
 
RALPH THE DRAGON – Made contact at the start.
 
AMAHERO – Made contact at the start.
 
GIFT OF CHOICE – Raced wide with cover.
 
HURAI – Raced wide without cover.
 
Race 5:  Merry Christmas From Everyone At The RJC Open Handicap-1100 Metres
 
CHARCOAL MELODY – N. Seymour replaced C. McIver, who remains under suspension.
 
BRADMAN – Q. Krogh was the replacement rider for the horse.
 
COURT CLOWN – When jumping out and CHARCOAL MELODY jumped inwards, MISTER BOOZE was tightened and shifted out, hampering BRADMAN, which had been slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running until near the  200m, and at that stage was inconvenienced by I AM BOSS, which laid inwards.
 
STARANTE – Near the 400m made contact with FOUR EXCEL on a number of occasions.
 
FOUR EXCEL – Bumped on a number of occasions near the 400m.

Race 6: Caught In the Act Photography BM 65 Handicap-1600 Metres
 
GLADISHING- App T Williams was the replacement rider due to no other available senior rider. Raced wide with cover.
 
CHAIN THE GATE- Got its head down as the start was effected and was slow to begin.
 
CRIMSON GOD – Apprentice E. Smith was the late declaration of rider for the horse.  Trainer T Cook was fined $100. Slow to begin.
 
RUSTY SCOOTER – Jumped in the air at the start.
 
BOLD AVENUE – Contacted RESET DANCER at the start.
 
RESENT DANCER – Bumped at the start. Raced wide with cover, and commenced to lose ground from the 400m.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery, and had an elevated heart rate. No other abnormality.
 
CLAIM THE THRONE – Over raced for a short distance approaching the 1200m.
 
HALFBLOOD PRINCE – Raced wide with no cover throughout.
 
Race 7: Summer Racing Saturday 30 December BM 65 Handicap- 1100 metres
 
GOWER – N. Seymour was the replacement rider for the horse.
 
MAC’S METTLE – Lost its off fore plate in running.
 
TOUCH SENSITIVE – Began awkwardly.
 
MISTA BUSY – Slow to begin.
 
COVERT CHARMOUR – Jumped inwards onto REAL SUPREMACY at the start. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
REAL SUPREMACY – Bumped at the start.
 
THE BAKER – Jockey J. Stanley reported that his mount had raced 3 wide with cover and was inclined to lay in throughout, and, in his opinion, proved disappointing. He further stated the horse was under pressure from the 600m and had failed to respond to his riding and had, in his opinion, raced flat. Trainer G. Bell reported that she would remove the blinkers for its next race start.
