BoyleStarter- Mr C Matthews Supplementary Report From Rockhampton, 30 December 2017 Co-Trainer C. Dore reported Takings had jarred up on the track surface. Bels Impact – The gear changes had not been enacted by the required time. Trainer J. McConachy was fined $200. From Rockhampton, 26.10.17 Trainer J. Crane reported that I Trust Layla had some soreness across its back, had been spelled for approximately 7 weeks and was now back in work. Race 1: Celebrating 10 Years of Racing 2018 Class 6 Plate 1050m OUR NEDDY BOY – Began awkwardly. SHROUDED – Raced keenly in the middle stages. THAT PRETTY GIRL – Placed in restricted room near the 250 metres to the inside of STARANTE and had to be eased. ZATORIO – Apprentice Q. Krogh reported his mount hung out in the straight and was unable to be fully tested. STARTANTE- Apprentice E. Smith was spoken to by Jockey Advocate S. Scriven and Stewards in relation to her ride on the mare. Apprentice Smith was advised that it would have been advantageous to have placed the mare outside SHROUDED and follow DAM WONDERFUL into the race from approaching the 600 metres. This would have allowed her to shift to the outside of DAM WONDERFUL later in the straight and between it and OUR NEDDY BOY over the concluding stages. Race 2: Become a Club 150 Member Maiden Handicap 1300m VAN WINKEL – When restrained near the 900 metres, commenced to lay out and continue do so in the middle stages. When attempting to obtain clear running approaching the 400 metres made contact with DIRTY RASCAL on 2 occasions. Apprentice Smith was spoken to by Jockey Advocate S. Scriven and Stewards with regard to her riding in the early stages. Apprentice Smith was advised that allowing the gelding to hold the lead rather than restrain would have been more preferable than to restrain and allow others to cross to the lead. However, Stewards did not consider that her actions were in breach of the Rules and took no action. DIRTY RASCAL – Bumped on two occasions nearing the 400 metres. SOUTHERN SPECIAL – Unable to obtain clear running leaving the 400 metres, and near the 250 metres raced in restricted room and had to be steadied. Race 3: XXXX Gold Open Handicap 1300m LEGAL PROCEDURE- As Justin Stanley was not riding at today’s meeting due to personal reasons, N. Day was substituted as the rider of the horse. FRENCH HUSSLER – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. GYPSY SECRET – Kicked out as the start was effected, began awkwardly and lost ground. Trainer C. Garland advised that the mare would now be sent for a spell. TESTASCANA – Near the 200 metres jockey R. Faehr lost his whip. Race 4: Happy 60th Birthday Greg Marr Class 2 Handicap 1050m TIME OUT – Began very awkwardly and jumped outwards. BARACHIEL – Hampered at the start between TIME OUT and SEVEN TEN SPLIT, which jumped inwards at the start. MYSTIC FORCES – Raced keenly in the middle stages. BONINO – Laid out in the middle stages and for the majority of the straight. Race 5: 2018 Club 150 Gala Ball – Sat 24 March QTIS 3-Y-O Handicap 1050m EXCELCAT – As S. Sheargold was to be overweight, C. McIver was substituted s the rider of the horse. Jockey Sheargold was reprimanded. ROYAL MYTH – When placed in the barriers broke through, however was quickly restrained, and after undergoing a veterinary examination was cleared to takes it place in the field. Raced wide without cover. ASTRAL ODYSSEY – Tightened at the start between HOURGLASS TIME and CSARDAS. Apprentice R. Payne reported her mount had overreacted and lost ground. DANTIEN – Slow into stride. DELCETTO SYRAH – Held up in the early stages of the straight. CSARDAS – Raced wide with cover. ARARRAC – Jockey D. Simmons reported his mount was inclined to hang in throughout, and near the 600 metres became awkward on heels. Jockey D. Simmons pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137(b) in that he failed to ride his mount out to the end of the race. In the opinion of the stewards it had cost his mount 3rd placing. Jockey Simmons’ licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days, commence at midnight 11 January and to expire at midnight, 18 January 2018. Race 6: 2018 Capricornia Yearling Sales Carnival – Fri 6/4 – Sun 8/4 BenchMark 65 Handicap 1300m AL HAMEES – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. CRIMSON GOD – Slow to begin. PARTY PARDEE – Raced 3 wide without cover. LOGICAL OUTCOME – Raced 4 wide without cover. Jockey R. Payne lost her whip near the 400m. Race 7: Winter Carnival 2018 – Fri 6 & Sat 7 July Ratings Band 0 – 55 Handicap 1200m SAMBA RIO - Fractious prior to the start and began awkwardly. Inside the 200m appeared to shy and became awkward in its stride. BANSHEE JET - Approaching the 200 metres was unable to obtain clear running and shifted out to do so. FOREST MAGIC – Raced 3 wide without cover. CAPTAIN ADRIATIC – Raced wide with cover.
