MatthewsRace 1: Wendy Mulry Travel Maiden Handicap- 1050 metres Prior to the declaration of correct weight, stewards viewed the patrol films to ascertain if the interference to CRANKY OL’ LADY (3rd) and SEA PRAISE (4th) by WHOOSH (2nd) warranted an objection. Given the margins involved, Stewards did not proceed further. WHOOSH – When loaded became fractious in the barriers and reared. After undergoing a veterinary inspection was passed to take its place in the field. MITCHELL GRASS – Broke through the barriers, galloped riderless and subsequently declared a late scratching at 1.58 pm. Subsequently all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable. 9 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets9 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets for the win7 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets12 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place betsTINARAU MAUBOY – Bounded on jumping away. A LITTLEBITTAMAGIC – Jumped outwards at the start, hampering BOHEMIAN TIGER. CAUSE HAVOC – Severely tightened between runners at the start and lost ground. BRUTAL BABE – Began awkwardly and shifted in at the start. BOBSIMONE – Jumped outwards at the start, making contact with the hindquarters of CRANKY OL’ LADY. Lost its near hind plate in running. CRANKY OL’LADY – Bumped at the start. Forced inwards near the 100m. SEA PRAISE - Hampered at the start. Jockey N. Seymour, rider of WHOOSH, was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in that leaving the 100m he allowed his mount to shift in, causing CRANKY OL’ LADY to be taken in and SEA PRAISE to steady and lose some ground. QUATRO AMIGOS – Raced keenly near the 900m and eased from the heels of BRUTAL BABE. DON’T CHEAT CHARLIE – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Race 2: Robo’s Tyre Works QTIS 2YO Fillies Maiden Handicap- 1100 Metres MISS NASTY – Slow to begin. DIAMOND ACCOUNT – Slow to begin and made contact with LADYEYE. LADYEYE – Bumped at the start. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. EDITH MARGARET – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Race 3: Channel 7 QTIS 2YO Colts and Gelding Maiden Handicap- 1100 Metres GOHAN – Slow to begin. OUR TOP SHELF – Slow to begin. THE TAX ACCOUNTANT – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. MOSSY MOUNTAIN – Shortly after the start commenced to mistride. Eased down from the home turn and failed to finish. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the off foreleg, with a suspected hoof abscess. Connections were advised that a veterinary certificate would be required, and the horse must barrier trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start. HENRYROBERT – Raced wide throughout and laid in in the early stages of the straight. MARWAY – Jumped outwards at the start, taking MYSTERY ELEMENT wider. Became awkward for a number of strides shortly after the start. MYSTERY ELEMENT – Forced wider at the start, raced wide throughout and laid in in the straight. Race 4: Central Qld Plasterers QTIS 3YO Maiden Handicap- 1300 Metres UNDERCOVER GIRL – Jumped away awkwardly, and near the 900m steadied when the pace of the race slowed. SPRING CREEK – Was slow into stride. HIGH RIDER – Began awkwardly and lost some ground. GORDO – Near the 700m when over racing, shifted out and continued to race ungenerously and unbalanced its rider, making contact with BRILLANT MISTAKE. DREAM COMMANDER, which was following, was inconvenienced and shifted wider on the track.DREAM COMMANDER – Raced wide with cover. UNSAIN – Raced wide without cover. Race 5: Club 150 Gala Ball Sat 24 March Class 2 Handicap- 1500 Metres HE’S ALL HEART – Slow into stride.LIGHTNING JACKSON – Jumped awkwardly. Bled from both nostrils during the race for the first time. Connections were advised that the horse would be barred from racing for a period of 3 months and must complete a 1000 metre gallop prior to racing. Trainer R. Vale advised the horse would now be retired from racing. RUFFY ROAD – Near the 150m, Apprentice M. Murphy lost its nearside rein for a short distance. WINSOMEMORE – Laid out in the middle stages from the 800m. TWO OF A KIND – Raced wide with cover. CAPTAIN ADREATIC – Raced wide without cover. DIRTY RASCAL – Regarding the poor performance of the horse, which lost ground from approximately the 600m, a post-race veterinary examination revealed abnormal respiratory sounds, and a recommendation made that the horse be scoped. Stewards must be provided with the results of the endoscopic examination and a veterinary certificate prior to the horse’s next race start. Race 6: St. Patricks Day Races- Sat 17 March Class 1 Handicap- 1200 Metres DOUBLE JAY GOLD – As Q. Krogh who was not riding at the meeting, N. Seymour was the replacement rider. Raced wide without cover. CSARDAS – Trainer Mr N. Vagg advised stewards that he would instruct the rider to ride hands and heels and use the whip down the horse’s shoulder sparingly. A public announcement was made to this effect. Raced 3 wide without cover. POETIC LUCK – Began awkwardly. MARQUANT – Slow to begin. At approximately the 900m shifted out when steadied from the heels of POETIC LUCK out onto PININFARINA, and when MARQUANT shifted back in, caused DANTIEN to be steadied. SCUTARI – Raced wide with cover. Blundered of its own accord near the 600m. PININFARINA – Jockey J. Stanley reported that approaching the 200m his mount shifted ground. He added he balanced the horse up however did not place the horse under further pressure. In his opinion may not have handled the soft track. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. HEAVENLY DREAM – Apprentice Z. White reported that her mount failed to travel well throughout. DANTIEN – Regarding the performance of the horse, jockey N.
