WilliamsSwab attendants –Ms N Boyle & Miss K LatifiStarter- Mr C Matthews General As M. Bennett was injured and not riding, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet. A medical certificate would be required prior to his next riding engagements. Supplementary Report- Rockhampton, 12.5.18 – Race 1 Connections advised that Craiglea Bellini, which sustained an injury during the running of this race, had been retired from racing. Race 1: Thinkwater/Wandal Need And Feed QTIS 2yo H’cap – 1100m SHENRON - Reared on 2 occasions prior to the start. Over raced in the middle stages. Eased near the 150 metres. Trainer M. Attard advised that the horse would now be sent for a spell. STREAMLINER – Slow to begin and bumped with LAST CHANCE. LAST CHANCE – Bumped at the start. Jockey A. Butler reported his mount hung out in the middle stages. It was further observed it lay in from the 200m, and near the 150m SHENRON had to be eased. Jockey A. Butler was reminded to make a greater effort in order to keep his mounts straight. CRAIGLEA ELLA – Over raced for a short distance near the 600m, and laid in near the 400m, making contact with VISERION. VISERION – Bumped near the 400m. In the early stages of the straight made contact with MYSTERY ELEMENT on 2 occasions. Raced wide with no cover throughout. MYSTERY ELEMENT – Bumped on 2 occasions in the early stages of the straight. Apprenticed E. Smith viewed the photo finish image for 2nd placing, however was satisfied as to the placings. Race 2: NAB “Business BM70 H’cap – 1838m SANOSUKE – Placed 6th of 7th at Emerald in an Open Handicap over 1615m, beaten 4.95 lengths. Public announcements were made to that effect. MISS ARABELLA – Slow to begin. TOP RAVINE – Slow to begin. Jockey J. Stanley reported his mount was inclined to hang out on straightening. It was observed it had minor contact with KING MAX on occasions in the straight. SANOSUKE – Raced keenly in the early stages and shifted out near the 900m and raced wide for the remainder. KING MAX – Minor contact with another horse on occasions in the straight. Race 3: Mel Slade Maiden H’cap – 1200m BACK CHAT – Jumped awkwardly. Eased near the 900m. Over the concluding stages improved to the inside of GOSSAUX, which shifted in slightly, and had to be eased. BELSHAZZAR – Slow to begin. Jockey T. Chambers will be spoken to with regard to her use of the whip. TORQUE – Slow to begin. Approaching the 900m, when racing keenly, was placed in restricted room when LIL RUBY ROSE shifted inwards momentarily, resulting in TORQUE having to be steadied and lost ground. A. Sewell, rider of LIL RUBY ROSE, was reprimanded. THE SCOOP – Shifted ground near the 900m, resulting in BACK CHAT having to be eased and lay out for a short distance. OPHELIA’S KNIGHT – Raced wide with cover. SHARP DIAMOND – Raced wide without cover throughout. Race 4: Grant & Simpson Lawyers BM65 H’cap – 1400m MISS BENETEAU – Declared a late scratching at 9.07 am after suffering lacerations to its forehead and near-side hip when being transported to the track. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance would be required. EXTRA COVER – Jumped inwards at the start onto OUR NEDDY BOY. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. OUR NEDDY BOY – Bumped at the start. LIKE ‘EM SASSY – Raced wide in the early stages. LOOKSLIKERAIN - Raced wide in the early stages. RAPDAYS – Apprentice L. Dodds pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that he permitted his mount to shift out near the 400m and forced a run between LOOKSLIKERAIN and LIKE ‘M SASSY, which resulted in RAPDAYS being contacted on a number of occasions, tightened and losing its rightful running. Stewards noted that LOOKSLIKERAIN had shifted out, however had not dictated RAPDAYS, and also took into account his guilty plea and record. Apprentice L. Dodds’ licence to ride in races was suspended from midnight, 29 May, and up to 8 June, being a period of 10 days. Apprentice N. Summers and Jockey A. Sewell were cautioned with regard to their conduct following this event in the area between the jockeys’ rooms and advised to conduct themselves appropriately at all times. Race 5: Higgins Coatings QTIS 3yo H’cap – 1200m BOLD ENDEAVOUR – Made contact at the start. CRAIGLEA VELVET - Bumped on jumping away. POETIC HEART – Jumped in the air and lost some ground at the start. OKANAGAN MISS – Bumped on jumping away. RIO ROSIE – Jumped inwards onto OKANAGAN MISS at the start. Held up approaching the 400m and was obliged to shift in to obtain clear running. Inclined to lay in over the concluding stages and unable to be ridden out with usual vigour. Race 6: Rockhampton Engineering And Maintenance H’cap – 1050m STARANTE – Lunged at the barriers prior to the start and when the start was effected stepped back and lost some ground. JACK LANCASTER – Raced wide until near the 700m. EMBRACE THE PAIN – Had difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 300m. ZIP TO THE MOON – Had difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 300m. FRENCH HUSSLER – When questioned regarding the performance of the horse, trainer J. Wigginton advised at its previous start the horse had lost its near fore plate and was of the opinion that the pace of the race and the firmer track surface than its previous start may have assisted. In addition, he had removed the blinkers for the start today. Race 7: PKF Hacketts Class 3 Plate – 1100m POETIC SHOW – Leant on the off-side barrier partition as the start was effected, unbalancing its rider, which then began awkwardly and lost ground. When pressured in the early stages raced ungenerously. UTHRED – Tightened at the start between MANILA ACADEMY and JAY JAY. DESERT GREY – Slow to begin and was then hampered when tightened between ANNIE’S OUR HERO and CANTON ROAD. ANNIE’S OUR HERO – Raced wide without cover throughout.
