Matthews SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT From Rockhampton22 May 2018 – Race 4: Trainer R. Vale reported that a subsequent veterinary examination ofEXTRA COVER indicated that the horse may have been suffering soreness acrossthe back and was being treated for this condition. Race 1: SUMMERBRIGHT MAIDEN PLATE – 1400M DOUBLEO CI –Raced three wide throughout. HESSION ROAD– Blundered on jumping. CRAIGLEAWEAPON – Slow to begin. SAY PLEASE– Attempted to buck for a few strides shortly after the start and lostconsiderable ground. Trainer Z. Hohn was advised that as the horse hadpreviously offended, the filly would be required to perform satisfactorily in anofficial barrier trial prior to racing again. Race 2: XXXXGOLD QTIS 2YO H'CAP – 1100M CRAIGLEAGALIO – Began awkwardly. CHILDSUPPORT – Had to be steadied near the 700m when crowded slightly by BRAVEJEWEL. Apprentice A. Sewell, the rider of BRAVE JEWEL, was reprimanded. CRAIGLEAELLA – After standing awkwardly in its barrier, put its head down as thestart was effected and then bounded. MYSTERY ELEMENT – Slow to begin. Race 3: 2018XXXX GOLD WINTER RACING CARNIVAL CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1050M GUISSOLA – Slow into stride.J. Orman was fined $200 for using the whip in excess of 5 times prior to the100m. In determining penalty, stewards took into account jockey OrmanÕstotality of whip use. THE CHEETAH – Began awkwardly. SHEÕS ON POINT – Raced threewide without cover. NIGHTSABLAZE – Slow into stride. Race 4: JRT/CQCAPRAS FAMILY FUN DAY – SUN 24 JUNE BENCHMARK 65 H'CAP – 1828M BOLD ANDGROOVY – Held up in the early stages of the straight until near the 300m. LET ME SAYTHIS – Slow to begin. PERFECTLYALIGNED – Slow to begin. PREQUEL– Slow to begin. Race 5: CANI WEAR THAT/KIDS FASHIONS ON THE FIELD BENCHMARK 70 H'CAP – 1400M KING MAX– Slow to begin. Apprentice E. Smith was reprimanded for using the whip in excess of5 times prior to the 100m. Indetermining penalty, stewards took into account apprentice SmithÕs totality ofwhip use. PRINCELY –Raced three wide throughout. OUR NEDDYBOY – Slow to begin. SWINGAHINCH– Raced three wide without cover. Race 6: HAMILTONCQ PAINTING SERVICES CALCUTTA THURS 5 JULY CLASS 3 PLATE– 1300M TIMETUS– Lost the off hind plate during the event. UTHRED– Slow to begin. HARJAKA– Slow to begin. Overraced in the early and middle stages. PROANE– Raced three wide without cover. DOOGUS– Slow to begin. MARGOMAREE – Raced three wide with cover. CULPO –Bled from both nostrils. As this was the first occasion on which the horse hasbled, trainer R. Vale was advised that the mare will be ineligible to start for3 months, and prior to resuming racing must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m inthe presence of a steward. Race 7: HAHN 3.5 QTIS 3YO H'CAP – 1300M RIO ROSIE– Had some difficulty obtaining clear running between the 400m and the300m. BARBADOS STORM – Slow to begin. Held up onstraightening until near the 300m and then was steadied. STYLISHCRIMINAL – Had to be steadied when crowded slightly whilst overracingnear the 1100m. SPRING CREEK– Checked near the 700m when crowded for room between BARBADOS STORM,which shifted out whilst hanging, and KOPELLA, which shifted in slightly. M.Murphy, the rider of KOPELLA, was severely reprimanded for placing runners tohis inside in restricted room. CSARDAS– Bounded in the air at the start. KILLER LOVE– Slow to begin. Race 8: GIRLS GRAMMAR ROCKHAMPTON RACEDAY SAT 16 JUNEOPEN H'CAP – 1100M As R. Faehrbecame indisposed after riding in Race 2, L. Tilley was substituted as therider of EXECUTED. FABÕS COWBOY– Raced five wide. HEARTBREAKHARRY – Began awkwardly. Held up for a short distance until the 200m. GRANDEMPEROR – Held up until the 200m. EMBRACE THEPAIN – Slow to begin. LEGALPROCEDURE – Began awkwardly after being fractious in its stall. TAMBOÕSHEART – Raced wide without cover. N. Day explained that the horse had atough run without cover and weakened badly in the straight and that he couldoffer no explanation for the performance other than that in his opinion it mayneed a spell. Trainer L. Wright advised that the horse did encounter adifficult run and he was of the view that the fact that it raced wide was atelling factor in its finishing position. He indicated that he may give thehorse one more start before considering whether to continue with itspreparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have aslow post-race recovery, indicative of a tough run. GYPSY SECRET– Began awkwardly.
