SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
From Rockhampton 24 July 2017 – Race 7: Trainer T. McMahon reported that SHROUDED had received chiropractic treatment to the offside shoulder since competing in this event.

GENERAL
Stewards accepted the explanations tendered for the late declaration of riders for MEGA D’ORO (Race 1) and NEED A WARRANT (Race 5).

Race 1: LINEMAC TOYOTA CLASS 6 PLATE – 1100M
MYSTIC LAD – Blundered on jumping.
TURKEY BEACH – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
ESPRIT LIGHT – When asked to explain the mare’s performance, trainer’s representative Mrs Williams advised that the horse was having its first start for 16 months and had not trialled leading up to today’s event, however had had a series of gallops on its home track. She added that the mare was slightly agitated on arrival at the track, which is not consistent with its usual demeanour, and which she attributed to the horse being a little bit too fresh for today’s run. She said that she was disappointed in the mare’s run, noting that even though it was first-up, she expected a better performance today. She indicated that she expected the mare to improve with today’s run.

Race 2: WENDY MULRY TRAVEL QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H’CAP – 1200M
KINGS COUNTY – Slow to begin. Raced four wide without cover in the early stages before pressing forward to obtain a position outside the leader approaching the 700m.
MATE’S RATE – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event. Laid in under pressure over the final 300m.
GEMBEAM – Slow to begin.
QUARALIA – Slow to begin. Had a tendency to lay in rounding the home turn.
SARANOVA – Bumped after passing the 400m by TARAKI, which shifted out to improve.

Race 3: CHANNEL 7 MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M
The start of this race was delayed when prior to loading the runners into the barriers it was noticed that the barriers were in the incorrect position and had to be repositioned.
CIRCUIT JUDGE – Hung in under pressure over the final 150m.
CRAIGLEA TORQUE – Bumped on jumping.
STRADIFY – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
WHOOSH – Reared after being placed in the barriers, removed and examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed to take its place in the field.
QUADACUS – Had to be steadied passing the 100m when racing in restricted room to the inside of TRES BON.
SHEZROYAL – Laid in passing the 300m and then over the final 50m improved on to heels and went to the line without being fully tested.
TRES BON – Tightened passing the 300m when SHEZROYAL laid in for a short distance.

Race 4: NAB AGRIBUSINESS CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1050M
TYRANNIZE – Raced three wide in the early stages before improving to obtain a position outside the leader passing the 700m. Hung in over the final 100m, proving difficult to ride out.
ZATORIO – Had to be steadied away from the heels of THAT’S HER I THINK passing the 700m.
AUSSIE TYCOON – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
HAYYLER’S TARY – Overraced whilst leading.
THAT’S HER I THINK – Had to be checked away from the heels of HAYYLER’S TARY when the pace slackened passing the 800m. Improved on to heels approaching the 100m and had to shift out to obtain clear running.

Race 5: HIGGINS COATINGS CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M
ONEMORETWOLESS – Slow to begin.
CORNISH TALES – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
NEED A WARRANT – Had to be steadied away from heels passing the 900m.
CAPELLA GIRL – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start and then began awkwardly.

Race 6: XXXX GOLD CLASS 3 PLATE – 1400M
GAMBIT – Slow to begin.
GUISSOLA – Overraced in the middle stages and then over the final 400m had a tendency to hang out under pressure, causing its rider to stop riding and straighten on a number of occasions.
RUSTY SCOOTER – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start being effected and then began awkwardly.

Race 7: GARRARD’S HORSE & HOUND/RJC AWARDS NIGHT SEP 15 BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1600M
MAC’S METTLE – Improved on to heels passing the 300m and had to alter course to the inside to obtain clear running.
PAR ONERI – Began awkwardly.
PROANE – Slow to begin.
MURRAMARANG – Slow to begin and then raced three wide without cover throughout.
