SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
From Rockhampton 2.8.18 – Race 7: Trainer M. Attard advised that following blood tests carried out on PROANE, which found the horse to be flat, the veterinarian advised that the horse should be given a freshen up, treated and continue with its current campaign.
 
Race 1: CENTRE STATE SIGNS RATINGS BAND 0 – 65 H’CAP – 1600M
 
EXTRA COVER – Laid out under pressure after passing the 300m, causing its rider to stop riding and straighten on a number of occasions.
 
STILL THE SAME – Slow to begin. With the slow tempo in the early stages, the horse was allowed to stride forward three wide to obtain a position outside the lead passing the 900m. After passing the 250m, when tiring, was slightly buffeted and hampered between runners when BARBADOS STORM shifted out to improve.
 
HULK HENRY – Overraced in the early and middle stages, refused to settle and had to be restrained from heels on a number of occasions.
 
Race 2: STAGE AND AUDIO QTIS 3YO H’CAP – 1050M
 
LEGAL TIES – Had a tendency to lay in under pressure over the final 200m.
 
CRAIGLEA RUBBLE – L. Tilley reported post-race that the colt blundered on a number of occasions throughout the event.
 
GREAT FOX – After beginning poorly from a wide barrier the horse was restrained to the rear of the field to obtain a position closer to the rail.
 
Race 3: AUSSIE RTON CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200M
 
DANGEROUS DESIRE – After being caught wide without cover in the early stages the horse was allowed to stride forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 900m. Failed to respond when placed under pressure after passing the 300m and weakened. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery. Trainer J. McConachy’s representative advised that the stable would report to stewards in ensuing days anything that comes to light which may have had an effect on the horse’s performance.
 
NASTY GAL – Got its head up in the early stages when being restrained. Slightly held up from the 400m until the 200m.
 
Race 4: BOODLE MEATS CLASS 6 PLATE – 1400M
 
KING TORIO, which was found to be lame in the near foreleg, was declared a late scratching at 10:13 am on veterinary advice. Trainer R. Bowen was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
MR BOXVALE – Slow into stride.
 
SWINGAHINCH – Began awkwardly.
 
NO EFFORT NEEDED – S. Wiseman had a harmless fall from the mare during its preliminary and, after remounting, the horse was cleared to take its place in the field. Overraced in the early stages and got its head up on a number of occasions.
 
STYLISH CRIMINAL – Slow into stride.
 
Race 5: THE PAINT BARN/INSPIRATIONS PAINT MAIDEN PLATE – 1400M
 
BIG SHAKA – Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced, losing ground.
 
MILITARY PRINCE – Bumped on jumping. Had to be steadied after passing the 200m when it improved on to heels.
 
SMARTY JACK – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Had to be steadied passing the 200m when awkwardly placed at the heels of DAUNTING QUEEN, which shifted in slightly.
 
DAUNTING QUEEN – Slow to begin and then bumped shortly after.
 
STARBEATS – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
GASPARINI – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Had a tendency to lay in under pressure after passing the 400m.
 
TEREX – Reared as the start was effected and lost some ground. Raced wide with cover.
 
Race 6: MCGRATH ROCKHAMPTON & CAPRICORN COAST CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1400M
 
BOUND TO ME – Began awkwardly and raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
THE BARMAID – Not ridden out over the final 100m and finished last. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer O. Cairns advised stewards that she would discuss with connections whether to continue with the horse’s current campaign.
 
LITTLE HUNTER – Commenced to hang out after passing the 700m and in the home straight, when under pressure, shifted wider on the track in the run to the line.
 
LUCKY FEELING – Bled from both nostrils, first time. Ineligible to race for 3 months and prior to resuming racing must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward.
 
Race 7: SPRING CARNIVAL PACKAGES ON SALE NOW! RATINGS BAND 0 – 55 H’CAP – 1050M
 
The start of this race was delayed when THE VOLTO proved difficult to load. Fractious in the gates prior to the start being effected. Trainer V. Heading was advised that a warning will be placed against the gelding for its barrier manners.
 
FORTYSHORT – Laid out under pressure over the final 200m, causing its rider to stop riding and straighten on more than one occasion.
 
SUPERIOR DRAGON – Fractious in the gates and reared slightly as the start was effected, losing some ground.
 
ANA’S IDOL – Put its head down as the start was effected and began awkwardly.
 
CASSAVANCE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
FIRESTAR PHOENIX – Performed below market expectations. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
EXCELCAT – Reared in the gates prior to the start being effected. Raced three wide with cover. Had a tendency to shift ground when under pressure over the final 200m.
