Race 1: 2019 XXXX Gold Winter Carnival Class 6 Plate – 1100m
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to view the start to determine if MARWAY gained an unfair advantage. After doing so, Stewards were satisfied and declared correct weight.
 
MARWAY – Began awkwardly.
 
SCORCHA – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 2: Grandstand Reserved Tickets – Rocky Cup Day Maiden H’cap – 1100m
 
THUNDER CAVE – Bumped by JACK ON THE ROCKS on jumping. Raced wide throughout.
 
JACK ON THE ROCKS – Bumped THUNDER CAVE on jumping.
 
DREAM DANZA – Buffeted on jumping between SFILZA and HOT CHOCOLATE, which jumped inwards.
 
HOT CHOCOLATE – Jumped inwards at the start and bumped DREAM DANZA.
 
SPARMAN – Lost ground at the start after jumping away awkwardly.
 
MONSIEUR JACK – Raced wide throughout.
 
SHEZRORAL – Raced wide throughout.
 
KRUPT AS ‘ER – Lost the off hind plate in running.
 
Race 3: Red Lion Hotel QTIS 2yo & 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1050m
 
ROCKY ROWEL – On the way to the barriers dislodged its rider. The filly then cantered for a short distance before being caught. Subsequently underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to run. Slow to begin, then shifted out abruptly and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.
 
KOBY’S STRATEGY – Began awkwardly, then became unbalanced when bumped by WICKED PEARL.
 
WICKED PEARL – Jumped inwards at the start and bumped KOBY’S STRATEGY.
 
CRAIGLEA LIZZY – Inconvenienced on two occasions near the 400 metres when LLANO shifted inwards. When asked if he could offer any explanation for the filly’s performance, rider
C. Whitely stated that after beginning well his mount was caught wide without cover and failed to respond to his riding from the 500 metres onwards.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.  
 
KATIE’S GIRL – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 4: TAB Calcutta – 4 July QTIS 2yo and 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1050m
 
LADY AKNA – Bumped REAGAN’S MISTAKE on jumping away. Proved difficult to settle in the early and middle stages.
 
REAGAN’S MISTAKE – Bumped LADY AKNA at the start.
 
ALEYSA’S MIRACLE – Held up in the early part of the home straight.  Rider A. Allen was reprimanded for shifting out near the 200 metres and bumping CRAIGLEA RAFFERTY.
 
TZAR BOMBA – Raced wide throughout.
 
HEY PAL – Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had sustained superficial cuts to its off hind leg.
 
JILTED GIRL – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 5:  Phil Peel Jeweller Fashions On The Field Benchmark 69 H’cap – 1400m
 
DAUNTING QUEEN – Slow to begin.
 
TRERICE – Shifted in near the 250 metres, inconveniencing MAEVE IN MANHATTAN.
 
MAEVE IN MANHATTAN – Near the 250 metres was carried inwards for a short distance by TRERICE.
 
Race 6: XXXX Gold Benchmark 55 H’cap – 1300m
 
MISS MILES – After being placed in its barrier stall lunged forward and broke open the front gates. Was subsequently removed from its stall and examined by the veterinary surgeon, who passed the mare fit to run. Blundered on jumping.
 
POETIC SHOW – Slow to begin.
 
WORTH THE TIME – Shifted in shortly after the start, bumping HUTCHO
 
MISTA BUSY – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
HUTCHO – Shortly after the start became unbalanced after being bumped by WORTH THE TIME.
 
PARTY PARDEE – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 7: Veuve Clicquot Enclosure – Rocky Cup Day Benchmark 55 H’cap – 1050m
 
The start of this race was delayed when RAINING DOLLARS cast it’s off fore plate and needed to be reshod upon arrival at the barriers.
 
ZOOMING – Blundered on jumping. Raced wide throughout.
 
CIRCUIT JUDGE – Bumped with THE VOLTO on jumping.
 
THE VOLTO – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped CIRCUIT JUDGE.
 
DEUS – Approaching the 400 metres had to be checked after improving up onto the heels of FADING MIST. Again had to be checked near the 300 metres when held up behind FADING MIST.
 
A LITTLEBITTAMAGIC – For the majority of the home straight laid out, resulting in its rider having to stop riding and straighten the mare on a number of occasions.
 
ZATORIO – Raced wide throughout.
 
DAMN FINE – Raced wide throughout.
 
GOLFING – Raced wide throughout.
 
FADING MIST – Raced wide throughout.
 
ABSOLUTE BONZA – Jockey A. Allen was permitted to replace C. McIver. An inquiry into the reason for Jockey C. McIver having left the course prior to fulfilling his engagement in races 7 and 8 was adjourned to a date to be fixed. 
 
Race 8:  TAB Tattersalls Gold Cup Open H’cap – 1600m
 
AVONACO – Jockey D. Evans was permitted to replace jockey C. McIver. Overraced in the early stages and raced wide throughout. Checked near the 1450 metres and lost ground.
 
GUISSOLA – Checked near the 1450 metres and raced wide thereafter.
 
GOLDEN MANE – Held up from near the 450 metres until passing the 350 metres.
 
POETIC HEART – Raced wide throughout.
 
App. T. Doyle, in the presence of Senior Jockey C Whiteley, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that near the 1450 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of AVONACO, thereby carrying that gelding in on to GUISSOLA, resulting in both AVONACO and GUISSOLA being crowded and having to be checked. App. T. Doyle was suspended from riding in races for a period 10 days, to commence at midnight, 29 June 2019, and to expire at midnight, 9 July 2019.
 
 
Race 9: Back To Back Racedays – 5 & 6 July QTIS 3yo H’cap – 1400m
 
MISS FLAWLESS – Took charge of its rider in the preliminary when the saddle slipped forward and galloped for some distance. So as not to cause any unnecessary delay, stewards ordered the withdrawal of the filly at 4.48 pm. On the announcement of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on MISS FLAWLESS be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 4:48pm:
 
 
0 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets
1 cent in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place
2 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
1 cent in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets
 
OUR TOP SHELF – Raced wide throughout.
 
TARAKI – When asked if he could offer any explanation for the filly’s performance, Jockey L. Tilley stated that his mount travelled reasonably well in the early stages, however when placed under pressure from the 500 metres, failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing over the concluding stages.  A subsequent veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
