Hanson ______________________________ General Sky Channel advised race times to be rescheduled as follows: Race 1: 1.45 pm; Race 2: 2.20 pm; Race 3: 2.57 pm; Race 4: 3.35 pm; Race 5: 4.10 pm; Race 6: 4.45 pm; Race 7: 5.20 pm. ______________________________ Race 1: Garrard’s/RJC Awards Spring Carnival Launch – Sat 28 Sep Class 6 Plate – 1400m MUSTA BUSY – Overraced in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the straight. PROANE – Began awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. SIR VAN DYKE – Rider reported that his mount failed to travel at any stage in today’s event, and was under pressure from in the vicinity of the 600m and ran to the line in a disappointing manner. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any visible abnormalities. Race 2: Rockhampton Wholesale Bakehouse QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1400m HEY PAL – Hampered on jumping away. In the vicinity of the 400m was contacted by ALL FOR HARRY, which shifted in marginally. In the vicinity of the 300m shifted out when insufficiently clear of ALL FOR HARRY. Rider R. Wiggins, rider of HEY PAL, was reminded of his obligations to be clear when shifting ground in future. ZIGGI ROCKS – Hampered on jumping away. Raced wide without cover throughout. BRAHMINY – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages. ROCKY ROWEL – Jumped away awkwardly. MISS CLAIR – In the vicinity of the 700m became awkward in its stride and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider, hampering HE’S SO VIVACIOUS. ALL FOR HARRY – In the vicinity of the 400m shifted in under pressure, contacting HEY PAL. In the vicinity of the 300m was obliged to steady to avoid the heels of HEY PAL. TALES OF EPSILON – Raced wide without cover throughout. HE’S SO VIVACIOUS – Laid out throughout the event. In the vicinity of the 700m was obliged to steady to avoid the heels of MISS CLAIR, which shifted in marginally. Race 3: Butler Partners (Regional) Pty Ltd Open H’cap - 1100m BOLD XAVVI – Began awkwardly. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. In the vicinity of the 50m was obliged to steady to avoid the heels of ISIS MAGIC, which shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. ISIS MAGIC – Underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Held up for clear running from the vicinity of the 500m until inside the 300m, whereby it was able to shift out and improve into clear running. In the vicinity of the 50m became awkward in its action and shifted out abruptly. A post race veterinary examination revealed ISIS MAGIC to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer K. Miller was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the mare resuming. CASINO THOUGHTS - When questioned regarding the performance, trainer K. Hansen stated the gelding had pleased in its work leading into today’s event and could offer no tangible excuses for the disappointing performance, and advised he would report back on the condition of CASINO THOUGHTS in the coming days. Underwent a veterinary examination which failed to reveal any visible abnormalities. Race 4: 990 4RO Rockhampton Maiden Plate – 1300m CAPTAIN TOM – Slow to begin. MEATBALL – Slow to begin. BOLD INSPIRATION – Overraced in the early and middle stages. In the vicinity of the 200m was disappointed for a run between MEATBALL, which shifted out, and HIGHLY INFLUENTIAL, which shifted in. Rider A. Butler, rider of MEATBALL, and rider R. Wiggins, rider of HIGHLY INFLUENTIAL, were reminded of their obligations to stop riding and straighten when their mounts shift ground in future. When questioned regarding the performance of BOLD INSPIRATION, jockey R. Stewart could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance, adding, in his opinion, the mare may not have handled today’s firm track conditions. Trainer G. Taylor similarly could off no explanation, adding that the filly had pleased in its trackwork leading into today’s event, and that he would report back to stewards in the coming days regarding the condition of BOLD INSPIRATION. A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery. CASINO WEEK – Raced wide without cover throughout. Race 5: Rockhampton Engineering And Maintenance Benchmark 60 H’cap – 1050m ANCIENT AZTEC – Overraced in the early stages. AUTHENTIC SWING – Overraced in the early and middle stages. In the vicinity of the 600m was obliged to steady after improving on to the heels of ANCIENT AZTEC. RATHER SILKY – Held up for clear running from the vicinity of the 600m until inside the 400m. BOOMISTA – Raced wide without cover throughout. SANTISIMO – Rider B. Pengelly pleaded guilty to a charge under AR211(2) for returning to scale in excess of 0.5 kilograms and was fined $300. Race 6: Thomas Betta Home Living Class 4 H’cap – 1200m HIDDEN GODDESS – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced throughout. FORGOTTEN FEELING – Overraced in the middle stages. TOXOPHILY – Laid in under pressure in the straight. RED HEAVY – Held up for a short distance passing the 200m. Rider accidentally dropped his whip in the vicinity of the 300m CASSAVANCE – Raced wide without cover throughout. Race 7: 2019 XXXX Spring Carnival Class 2 Plate – 1400m AHMAH STAR – Declared a late scratching at 5.10 pm after undergoing a pre-race veterinary examination which revealed the horse to be lame in the off hind leg. Subsequent to the event, all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable. 0 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets1 cent in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place 2 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets0 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets UBIRR ROCK – Slow to begin. CELOSIA – Began awkwardly. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and was obliged to shift wider on the track to secure clear running. GYPSY BIKER – Laid in under pressure in the straight. PAUA – Jockey A. Butler pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m. Jockey Butler was fined $300. In determining penalty stewards took into account jockey Butler’s recent infringements of this rule. QUIDNI – Rider B. Pengelly pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip 10 times prior to the 100m. In issuing a reprimand stewards took into account the totality of whip use in particular and also jockey B. Pengelly’s good record in regard to this rule.
