Race 1: Happy New Year From RJC QTIS 2yo Maiden H’cap – 1050m
 
AUSSIE HERO – Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 9.32 pm. Trainer C. Thompson was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required for the horse prior to any future race start.
 
DACXI DELIVERS – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in, contacting MISS KENZEE.
 
ISIS BRUMBY – In the vicinity of the 400m, after initially being brushed by RUSSIAN WEAPON, laid in shortly after contacting RUSSIAN WEAPON and when attempting to be corrected had its hind quarters turned making it difficult to relive pressure.
 
RUSSIAN WEAPON – In the vicinity of the 400m was buffeted on a number of occasions by ISIS BUMBY, which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.  Jockey T. Chambers stated after being contacted in the vicinity of the 400m her mount became awkward in its stride and weakened noticeably over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor post race recovery.  
 
DACXI KABOOM – Had to be steadied approaching the winning post after improving on to the heels of PRINCESS RULES.
 
FINAL CRIME – Was contacted on jumping away. Laid out rounding the home turn. Was momentarily inconvenienced in the vicinity of the 300m.
 
MISS KENZEE – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, contacting ISIS BRUMBY.
 
 
Race 2: Club 150 Membership Maiden H’cap – 1300m
 
URBAN YANKEE – As L. Dillon was to be overweight, T. Chambers was substituted as the rider of the horse. Jockey L. Dillon was fined $100. Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in, carrying OR ELSE in on to TRUST ISSUES.
 
POETIC PETE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
TRUST ISSUES – Hampered shortly after jumping away, and in the vicinity of the 400m was momentarily inconvenienced by OUR GIRL FIFI, which laid out.
 
MISS STAR  – In the vicinity of the 1000m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of UPPER DELIGHT, which shifted in when insufficiently clear.  Jockey R. Wiggins, rider of UPPER DELIGHT, was reminded of his obligations to be clear when shifting ground in future.
 
LOVE’S BEST HOPE – Overraced in the early and middle stages. In the vicinity of the 1000m had to be steadied after improving on to the heels of READY AYE READY.
 
OR ELSE – In the vicinity of the 400m was momentarily inconvenienced by TRUST ISSUES, which shifted out to improve.
 
ESPEREUS – In the vicinity of the 200m was obliged to steady after being disappointed for a run between OUR GIRL FIFI and MISS STAR, which rolled in marginally.
 
UPPER DELIGHT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
OUR GIRL FIFI – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
MOUNT DUMARESQ – Raced wide without cover throughout the event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
 
Race 3: TAB Open H’cap – 1300m
 
BARACHIEL – Slow to begin.
 
SPRING CREEK – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
MAGIC WU – In the vicinity of the 300m was inconvenienced and taken wider by RAGAZZO DEL CORSA, which was forced to take evasive action.
 
RAGAZZO DEL CORSA – Inside the 400m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of SPRING CREEK, which shifted in marginally, and GAMBIT, which shifted out marginally.
 
GAMBIT – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. Raced wide without cover throughout the event.
 
 
Race 4: Lion Nathan QTIS 3yo H’cap – 1300m
 
KICK ONS – Trainer T. Button was fined $100 for failing to present the Thoroughbred Identification Card. In the vicinity of the 1200m the was obliged to steady to avoid the heels of THREE STRIPES, which shifted in when insufficiently clear. When questioned regarding the performance, jockey R. Wiggins stated that his mount failed to travel at any stage of the event and was disappointing in its finishing effort.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
THREE STRIPES – Lost its bubble cheeker on jumping away.  Trainer R. Bowen advised stewards he would continue to use the bubble cheeker at its next start.  A post race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to the off hindleg.
 
CRIME BOSS – Slow to begin. In the vicinity of the 1200m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of THREE STRIPES, which shifted in when insufficiently clear.  Jockey N. Seymour, rider of THREE STRIPES, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) for allowing his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear and was suspended for a period of 12 days to commence midnight 8th January 2020 and to conclude midnight 20th January 2020.  A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery.  Trainer J. Pointon advised stewards that CRIME BOSS lost its tongue tie during the event.
 
BANTU BAY - Raced ungenerously in the early stages. 
 
ZIGGI ROCKS – In the vicinity of the 500m was held up for clear running and obliged to shift in to improve into clear running, and approaching the 300m was again held up on the heels of the weakening KEPTINTHEDARK and was obliged to shift out.
 
MONIQUITA – Raced wide without cover throughout the event.
 
 
Race 5: Hygain/Mitavite Benchmark 65 H’cap – 1600m
 
MEAT BALL – Slow to begin.  Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
UBIRR ROCK – Slow to begin.
 
GYPSY BIKER – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
JUSTALAD – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
MAGIC SCENE – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
BLUE SEAL – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and shifted in momentarily inconveniencing  EMILY’S SONG.  Jockey B. Pengelly, rider of BLUE SEAL, was reminded of his obligations to be clear when shifting ground in future.
 
EMILY’S SONG – Was momentarily inconvenienced over the concluding stages by BLUE SEAL, which shifted in.
 
LUVYA BEAK – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 6: Capricornia Yearling Sale 5th April Class 2 Plate – 1050m
 
LUBYOUFOREVER – As L. Dillon was to be overweight, R. Wiggins was substituted as the rider of the  horse. L. Dillon was fined $100.
 
MUTOMBO – Jumped away awkwardly, causing rider Z. White to lose her off-side iron, but was able to regain it shortly after.  Was obliged to stop riding approaching the finishing line after improving onto heels.
 
SPIRIT’S SILK – Raced wide without cover throughout the event.
 
BONDAGE – Laid out under pressure in the straight.
 
 
Race 7: XXXX Gold Benchmark 55 H’cap – 1200m
 
SECRET SITES – Slow to begin.
 
SIEGE OF ENNIS – Slow to begin.
 
I EXCEED – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
STRAWBERRY BLONDE – Rider R. Wiggins reported his mount raced green when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
IMAY SHOUT – A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare had bled from both nostrils for the first occasion. Trainer Mr A Coome was advised of the provisions of AR79(4).
Trainer Mr A Coome was found guilty of a charge of AR165(3) for leaving the saddling paddock within 30mins after the finish of the race and was fined $200.
