Race 1: Ironmonger Shipping Agencies Maiden H’cap – 1100m

WIDE LOAD – Jumped away awkwardly.

STUBAI – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.

DUBAI ME A SAGA – Slow to begin. Apprentice Z. White was reprimanded for her use of the whip when out of contention. AR132(6)(c)

GOOD AS A ROCKET – Jumped away awkwardly.

LUCKY BEE – Laid in throughout the event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal an abnormalities.




Race 2: Tom Button Racing QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1050m

RAY’S JUNCTION – Slow to begin. Trainer S. Rundle was fined $100 for failing to present the Thoroughbred Identification Card.

ALSAURUSFIRST – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages and in the vicinity of the 800m shifted out abruptly whilst overracing. In the vicinity of the 400m laid in and became awkward in its stride after having its hind quarters bumped. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities Trainer A. Coome was advised that ALSAURUSFIRST would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next race start.

DIRT RICH – Raced fiercely in the middle stages, and in the vicinity of the 800m shifted out despite the efforts of its rider. Trainer B. Trimble was advised that DIRT RICH would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to any future race start. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

WEATHER MAN – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

HARRY’S ROCKET – In the vicinity of the 900m shifted in when insufficiently clear of DIRT RICH, which was overracing. Rider M. Wishart was reminded of her obligations to be clear when shifting ground in future.


Race 3: Belroma Park Class 6 Plate – 1400m

FASTNET LATINA – Declared a late scratching at 2.38 pm due to the down grading of the track with the following deductions applicable.

19 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets
15 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place
21 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
18 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets

CAVELLTON – Stewards acceded to a request from trainer A. Coome for the late removal of blinkers from the horse. Trainer A Coome was fined $100. Slow to begin. Jockey B. Pengelly reported, in his opinion, his mount failed to handle the soft track conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

ARCHIE’S SON – Bounded on jumping away.

STEELZ TIME – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

The track rating was downgraded to a Soft 7 at 2.38 pm





Race 4: Hairhouse Warehousse Class 1 H’cap (1200m)

LOUIE THE LEGEND - Jockey M. McGillivray replaced jockey A. Butler due to A. Butler being indisposed. In the vicinity of the 600m became awkward in its stride for no apparent reason.

LUBYOUFOREVER – Trainer Jared Wehlow was fined $100 for the late declaration of rider for the horse. Overraced in the early and middle stages.

HAYBURNER – Dropped its head as the start was affected and as a result was slow into stride.. Trainer R. Vale was advised that a warning would be placed on the record of HAYBURNER.

STARS DON’T RUST – Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages.

MARQUANT - A post race veterinary examination of the horse revealed the horse to be suffering from the thumps.


Race 5: Jaime Parnell – 30 Days of Gratitude Class 3 H’cap – 1050m

HAZAR – Jumped away awkwardly.

SLAYDEM – Was hampered on jumping away.

FLEWSHOT – Hampered on jumping away.

TARTUFO BIANCO – Jumped away awkwardly and was hampered shortly after the start.

WORTH THE TIME - Jumped away awkwardly. A post race veterinary examination revealed thumps and signs of heat stress.

EARL OF FORDYCE - Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result.

ATTIQUE – In the vicinity of the 900m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of BONDAGE, which was being restrained after improving on to the heels of SIZZLING SUN.

BONDAGE – Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages after being crossed by SIZZLING SUN. In the vicinity of the 800m had to be steadied on a number of occasions after improving on to the heels of SIZZLING SUN.

GREAT FOX – Held up for clear running approaching the 200m when attempting to improve into a run to the inside of SIZZING SUN and was obliged to shift wider on the track to obtain clear running.

SIZZLING SUN – Lost its near fore plate in running.



Race 6: XXXX Gold Open H’cap – 1300m

BOLD ENDEAVOIUR – Jumped away awkwardly.

CONCA DEL SOGNO – Trainer advised it was his intention to not accept on a rain affected track in future.

MR MARKOU – Overraced in the early stages.

SPRING CREEK – Slow to begin.

POETIC HEART – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid out rounding the home turn. Was disappointed for a run in the vicinity of the 100m between BARACHIEL and BOLD ENDEAVOUR and was obliged to shift in to improve into clear running.

I CAN I WILL I AM – Slow to begin. Trainer advised it was his intention not to accept on rain affected tracks in future.

HELLUVA HOFFA – Jumped away awkwardly.

BARACHIEL – When questioned regarding the horse racing in a more forward position in today’s event, jockey L. Dillon stated that it was not his intention to be so far forward but after beginning well found himself racing further forward then anticipated after runners to his inside were slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have a poor post-race recovery and heat stress.


Race 7: David “Enjoy Your Retirement” Simmons Benchmark 55 H’cap – 1500m

JUSTALAD – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin.

GAMBIT – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight.

RUFFY ROAD - A post race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the near hindleg.

SIEGE OF ENNIS – Stewards acceded to a late gear change of the application of blinkers to the horse. Trainer T. Williams was fined $100.
