Race 1: Pac Plus Wholesalers QTIS 2yo Maiden H’cap – 1100m
 
MENSCHKEIT -  Slow to begin. In the vicinity of the 1000m shifted in momentarily inconveniencing GRAND GIFT. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. Trainer L. Wright advised the horse would now be spelled.
 
POETIC FINAL SAY – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
GRAND GIFT – Slow to begin. In the vicinity of the 1000m was inconvenienced by MENSCHKEIT, which shifted in. In the vicinity of the 200m raced in restricted room to the outside of MISS MAGNITUDE.
 
SIRATRO – Slow to begin. Raced green in the home straight.
 
SHARINDI – Reared on jumping away. Overraced in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the straight.   In the vicinity of the 300m became awkwardly placed on the heels of MISS MAGNITUDE, which shifted out under pressure.  Jockey T. Chambers, rider of MISS MAGNITUDE, was reminded of her obligations to stop riding and straighten her mounts when the shift out in future.
 
MISS MAGNITUDE – Raced greenly in the straight.
 
SERIOUSTEMPTATION – Overraced throughout the event. On entering the home straight was held up for clear running until approaching the 400m and was obliged to shift in to improve into clear running. A post race veterinary examination revealed SERIOUSTEMPTATION had been galloped on and to be lame in the off fore leg. Trainer was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to next start.
 
 
Race 2: 1881 Endowment Fund Maiden Plate – 1200m
 
BEAT DA LIGHT – Jumped away awkwardly, contacting the outside partition of the barriers. Laid in under pressure in the straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.  Trainer A. Jones was advised that a warning would be placed on the record of the horse due to proving difficult to load.
 
HEYGERONIMO – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
ESPEREUS – Slow into stride.
 
SPRING BEAT – Slow into stride.
 
JOMERA – In the vicinity of the 1000m had to be steadied after being crossed by BRAHMINY.  
 
BRAHMINY – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
LOVE’S BEST HOPE – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 3: Frenchville Sports Club QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1100m
 
MAN O’ ROSS – In the vicinity of the 350m was contacted by MISS DAISY.
 
RAY’S JUNCTION – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid out under pressure in the straight.
 
CHEMICAL STORM – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
FLAWLESS FIFI – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
ALSAURUSFIRST – Raced keenly in the early stages.  In the vicinity of the 350m was contacted by BETHIA, which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
 
LLANO – A post race veterinary examination  revealed the horse to be lame in the off foreleg.  Trainer G. Green was advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start.
 
GOLDEN TREASURE – Raced wide throughout. Trainer T. Cook was fined $200 for removing the horse from the course within 30 minutes required under AR165(3).
 
MISS DAISY – Held up for clear running from entering the home straight until the vicinity of the 400m and when attempting to shift out to improve, contacted the hind quarters of MAN O’ ROSS.  Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
BETHIA – Hung in under pressure in the home straight and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider in the vicinity of the 350m, contacting ALSAURUSEFIRST.  Contacted the running rail on a number of occasions in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be heat stressed and had a poor post race recovery.  
 
 
Race 4:  Hygain Capricornia Yearling Sales Carnival – April 3-5 Class 3 Plate – 1100m
 
HAZAR – Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 2.45 pm after being fractious in the race day stalls.  Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start.
 
SANTISIMO – Underwent a prerace veterinary examination after striking its head in the barriers and was passed fit to start. In the vicinity of the 1000m was obliged to be restrained to avoid the heels of LOUIE THE LEGEND, which shifted in.
 
HOVE ACTUALLLY – Underwent a prerace veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Jumped away awkwardly.
 
LOUIE THE LEGEND – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the middle stages. In the vicinity of the 700m whilst attempting to be restrained shifted in to the inside of BLUE ODYSSEY, contacting the running rail for a period of 200m from the vicinity of the 600m to the 400m.  Apprentice E. Bell was advised she must attend the Riders’ Skills panel for remedial and technical training.  AR144.
 
BLUE ODYSSEY – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
ALGEROBA – Raced wide without cover throughout the event.  Trainer C. Attard pleaded guilty to removing the horse from the course with 30 minutes required under AR165(3) and was fined $200.
 
 
Race 5: St Patrick’s Day Races – Saturday, 14 March Benchmark 60 H’cap - 1600m
 
VAN WINKEL – Dropped its head and dislodged its rider, T. Chambers, as the start was effected and took no competitive part in the race. Examined by medical staff and was cleared of injury.
 
MUSTARRID – In the vicinity of the 1200m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of RUFFY ROAD, which shifted in.  Jockey S. Wiseman, rider of RUFFY ROAD, was reminded of her obligations to be clear when shifting ground in future.  Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
 
LEGAL TIES – Was held up for clear running in the vicinity of the 600m to approaching the 400m and clipped the heels of RUFFY ROAD and blundered as a result.
 
TIME OUT – In the vicinity of the 1200m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of RUFFY ROAD and UBIRR ROCK, which shifted in when insufficiently clear.  Both jockey S. Wiseman, rider RUFFY ROAD, and jockey E. Smith, rider of UBIRR ROCK, were reminded of their obligations to be fully clear when shifting ground in future. In the vicinity of the 150m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of LEGAL TIES, which shifted in when insufficiently clear.  Jockey  M. Barnham, rider of LEGAL TIES, was found guilty of a charge under AR131(a) – careless riding – and was suspended for a period of 8 days, to  commence at midnight, 22 February and to expire at midnight, 1 March 2020.
 
 
Race 6: Happy 21st Birthday Jordan Taylor Open H’cap – 1400m
 
FASTNET LATINA – Slow to begin. On entering the home straight shifted wider on the track. When questioned why FASTNET LATINA was directed to the outside of the track in the home straight, jockey C. McIver stated he was advised by trainer R. Vale to direct his mount to the outside of the track on straightening as in his opinion after walking the track the outside was better going and would suit FASTNET LATINA who was better suited racing on top of the ground. Stewards noted his explanation.
 
POETIC HEART – Reared on jumping away and was slow into stride.
 
STEELZ TIME – Jumped away awkwardly.
