POETIC FINAL SAY – Jumped away awkwardly. ALEYSA’S DREAM – Hampered on jumping away. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages. SILVER LUCY – Slow into stride. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, jockey S. Wiseman stated that, in her opinion, the filly is better suited racing on rain affected tracks and wasn’t suited to the dry track today. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalitiesRace 2: XXXX Gold QTIS 2yo Maiden H’cap – 1200mThe start of this race was delayed approximately 3 minutes due to runners being examined by the veterinary surgeon behind the gates.PULCHERIA – Stewards acceded to a request from trainer A. Coome to apply blinkers to the horse, which was having its first start today. Trainer A. Coome subsequently pleaded guilty to a charge under AR206(2) for the late declaration of blinkers on PULCHERIA and was fined $100. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. SWEETLILLY PILLY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the near fore. Trainer K. Hansen was advised a veterinary certificate must be provided prior to the filly starting again.BLOW THE WHISTLE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after proving fractious in the barriers and was passed fit to start. FOXTER – As B. Pengelly was unable to make it to the course on time due to transport difficulties, M. McGillivray was substituted as the rider. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. GOODBYE EARL – Jumped away awkwardly. Shifted in abruptly in the vicinity of the 1100m in an attempt to find cover and in doing so became awkwardly placed on heels for a number of strides. AERIAL COMBAT – Knuckled on jumping away. Had to be steadied in the vicinity of the 1100m after improving onto heels. GIRL ON TOP – Underwent a post race veterinary examination which revealed the filly to be displaying a poor post-race recovery. Race 3: Hygain Capricornia Yearling Sale Maiden Plate – 1400mORANGE POP – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early and middle stages. Jockey L. Tilley reported his mount failed to travel at any stage of the event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer V. Heading was advised that a warning would be placed on the record of ORANGE POP in regard to its competitiveness. JINGAS – Raced wide for the majority of the race. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer J. Campeao was advised that JINGAS would be restricted to non-TAB venues until the gelding displays consistent improved form. Trainer J. Campeao informed stewards that JINGAS would be retired from racing. RUN AL RUN – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. NOTORIETY – Raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. PAIBLE – Laid in under pressure in the straight. FLYING KASS – Laid out under pressure in the straight. GOOD AS A ROCKET – Laid in under pressure in the straight. LOVES BEST HOPE – Trainer J. O’Sing pleaded guilty to a charge under AR165(3) for removing the mare from course prior to 30 minutes after race time and was subsequently fined $200. After the running of this race, jockey S. Wiseman, who was complaining of soreness in her right shoulder, was examined by the on course medical staff and passed fit to fulfil her remaining engagements.Race 4: Wilpeena Cattle Co Class 6 Plate – 1400mHEYINGTON - Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages. Was momentarily held up in the vicinity of the 500m and had to be shifted out to improve into clear running. NOTIO – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the straight.FUN TICKETS – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the straight. TARTUFO BIANCO – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced throughout the event, and in the vicinity of the 800m had to be steadied after improving onto heels. STREET ROGUE – Overraced in the early and middle stages, and in the vicinity of the 1000m had to be restrained after improving on to heels. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.CHANAMARO – Apprentice E. Smith reported that it was not her intention to lead in today’s event, however after beginning well in a slowly run race found herself in a leading position and was able to settle into a nice tempo, but when asked for an effort on straightening, her mount weakened noticeably. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 5: Club 150 2020 Open H’cap – 1200mFASTNET FLYER – Jumped away awkwardly. DISTRICT – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages. FAVOR OF GOD – Overraced in the early stages. Rider M. Haley pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(6)(c) for using his whip when out of contention and was reprimanded. SENSATION ALLY – Overraced in the early stages. Rider reported his mount failed to travel throughout the event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. BOLD ENDEAVOUR – Overraced in the middle stages. Jockey R. Wiggins reported that his mount was galloped on during the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to its off hind leg. MARWAY – Laid out under pressure in the straight. FRIENDLY DRAGON – Laid In under pressure in the straight.Race 6: Brown Brothers QTIS 3yo H’cap – 1200mBOLD HUNTER – Jumped away awkwardly. TYCOON FLYER – Knuckled on jumping away and shifted in abruptly. SHE’S MAGANDA – Hampered on jumping away. POUND FOR POUND – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages, and in the vicinity of the 1000m became awkward in its stride after being contacted by KODAI. Shifted in abruptly over the concluding stages. SUMMER SALT – Overraced in the early stages. KODAI – Raced wide throughout the event. Race 7: Follow Us On Facebook! Class 3 H’cap – 1200mMARCHING ORDERS – Declared a late scratching at 8.02 am on veterinary advice after showing signs of a virus. Trainer C. Taylor was advised that a veterinary clearance must be supplied for the horse prior to its next race start. ROCKETHEAD – A post race veterinary examination of the gelding, which weakened badly in the straight, revealed no abnormalities.SCENIC SIGHT – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the straight. DOUBLE EM – Contacted on jumping away. When questioned regarding the horse leading by a significant margin in today’s event, apprentice Z. White stated that after DOUBLE EM failed to jump at its last start at the Gold Coast, she was instructed to dig her mount out of the gates and make sure her mount jumped. She added after jumping well, her mount began to overrace in the early stages and when she attempted to restrain the mare, it continued to overraced and she elected to attempt to not restrain in an effort to get DOUBLE EM to settle. On entering the home straight her mount began to weaken noticeably and went to the line in a disappointing manner. When questioned regarding the performance, trainer T. Cook stated that he instructed Z. White to ride her mount strongly out of the gates and, in his opinion, after a disappointing jumpout earlier in the week added with today’s performance, the horse had come to the end of its preparation and it was now his intention to send DOUBLE EM for a spell. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near fore. Trainer T. Cook was advised that the mare would require a veterinary certificate prior to its next start.CELOSIA – Reared on jumping away, then knuckled shortly after. MISS STAR – Contacted on jumping away. NICKSY BOY – Jumped away awkwardly and laid in under pressure in the home straight. ATTIQUE - Momentarily held up for clear running in the vicinity of the 500m. Laid out despite the efforts of its rider over the concluding stages. ARJAYCEE – Raced wide throughout. DON’T DOUBT MAEVE – Hampered approaching the winning post by ATTIQUE, which shifted out under pressure. PRINCE OF VENICE – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. Race 8: Hahn 3.5 Class 1 H’cap – 1050mALONEINABAA – Stewards acceded to a request from trainer C. Attard to remove the winkers from the gelding. Mr Attard subsequently plead guilty to a charge under AR206(2) and was fined the sum of $100. Jumped away awkwardly. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. DIRT RICH – Declared a late scratching at 4.02 pm on veterinary advice after being fractious in the float en route to the racecourse. Trainer B. Trimble was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to any future race start. IMPERIAL BELLE – Became awkwardly placed on heels in the vicinity of the 600m. BOLD THALIA – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Trainer G. Taylor was found guilty of a charge under 165(3) in that he removed BOLD THALIA from course prior to 30 minutes after its race and was subsequently fined $200. HEYGERONIMO – In the vicinity of the 900m was momentarily inconvenienced by WIDE LOAD, which shifted in. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey M. McGillivray was reprimanded for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m. In determining penalty, stewards took into account it was jockey McGillivaray’s first breach of this rule in over 18 months.
