SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
ROCKHAMPTON TUESDAY 27 AUGUST 2020 – RACE 7.
 
Jockey R. Wiggins pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(5) of excessive use of the whip, in that he used it on 18 occasions, and his license to ride in races was suspended for 8 days, to commence at midnight on Sunday 13 September and expire at midnight on Monday 21 September.
 
Jockey B. Appo pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(a) of careless riding in that he allowed NOT LIABLE to shift out approaching the 300m, taking VAN WINKEL out onto QUIDNI, who in turn took CAVALERO out onto VERBALIZER(NZ) who had to be restrained off the heels of that runner. Jockey B Appo’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 9 days to commence at midnight on Tuesday 8 September and to expire at midnight on Thursday 17 September 2020.
 
Race 1: ROCKHAMPTON WHOLESALE BAKEHOUSE QTIS 3YO HCP - 1100m
 
Hamilton Hill – Hampered on jumping away.
 
Rollinwiththeflow – Scrambled on jumping away.
 
Natural Emperor – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
The Silver Lady – Jumped away awkwardly, shifting in contacting HAMILTON HILL. Laid out under pressure in the straight.
 
Queen of Style – A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Bold Executive – Hampered on jumping and was slow away as a result.
 
Ketchikan Gold – Jumped away awkwardly, shifting in abruptly hampering BOLD EXECUTIVE.
 
 
Race 2: ROSLYN DODSON BOOKKEEPING SERVICES MDN PLT - 1100m
 
Atzeni – Jumped away awkwardly. Approaching the 800m became awkwardly placed on the heels of STRAITOUTTAHARLEM whilst overracing. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Rider B Appo was reprimanded for using his whip 6 times prior to the 100m, one more than permissible under the rule.
 
Whits End – Rider R Stewart was reprimanded for using his whip 7 times prior to the 100m, two more than permissible under the rule.
 
Dip Dye - Rider D Graham was fined the sum of $400 for using her whip 8 times prior to the 100m, three more than permissible under the rule.
 
Some Fairy Song – Slow to begin.
 
We Want It All - Rider A Sewell was reprimanded for using his whip 6 times prior to the 100m, one more than permissible under the rule.
 
Foxter – Declared a late scratching at 1.44pm after refusing to load. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and the placegetters prior to 1.44pm as following:
 
3 cents in the dollar of all win bets #10 (KEFALONIA)
3 cents in the dollar of all place bets #10 (KEFALONIA)
6 cents in the dollar of all place bets #6 (DIP DYE)
6 cents in the dollar of all place bets #4 (WHITS END)
 
Trainer’s representative C. Dore was advised that FOXTER would be required to obtain two further barrier certificates prior to its next start.
 
Following this event, S Wiseman was complaining of discomfort to her back after an incident in the barriers with FOXTER. She was examined by the QLD ambulance officers and was passed fit to fulfil her remaining engagements.
 
Race 3: ROCKHAMPTON MINI LOADS & TRUCK HIRE C5 PLT - 1050m
 
Let's Cheer Again – Rider A Butler reported that his mount hung out throughout.
 
Chezblack – Rider J Stanley was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip in that he used his whip 15 times throughout the event.
 
Gypsy Biker – Approaching the 200m, raced in restricted room to the outside of MOUNTAIN COURAGE which laid out under pressure. App M Wishart was reprimanded for using her whip 6 times prior to the 100m, one more than permissible under the rule.
 
Mad Irish Tycoon – Rider reported that his mount laid out in the early stages.
 
Mountain Courage – Approaching the 800m, had to be restrained after improving onto the heels of LETS CHEER AGAIN. Laid out under pressure in the straight. Approaching the 200m, laid out inconveniencing GYPSY BIKER.
 
Following the running of this race Beau Appo was examined by QLD Ambulance Officials and was stood down from his remaining engagements. B Appo was advised a medical would be required prior to his next engagements. Replacements were made per the raceday summary.
 
Race 4: RUM CITY FOODS OPEN HCP - 1050m
 
Palladian – Rider Z White was fined the sum of $400 for using her whip 6 times prior to the 100m, one more than permissible under the rule.
 
District – Raced wide throughout. Apprentice W Peel was reprimanded for using her whip 6 times prior to the 100m, one more than permissible under the rule.
 
Hidden Goddess – Jumped away awkwardly throwing its head in the air. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
Brutal Babe – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not starting in the past 12 months and was passed fit to start. Jumped away awkwardly throwing its head in the air. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Race 5: USG BORAL CL 6 HCP - 1300m
 
Magic Wu – Approaching the 1100m, had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of VAN WINKEL, who was overracing. Approaching the 800m, had to be restrained again after improving onto the heels of VAN WINKEL. Held up for clear running upon entering the home straight to approaching the 300m.
 
Volum – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Chinchinbilla – Approaching the 100m, raced in restricted room for a number of strides to the inside of VOLUM, which laid in under pressure. Rider D Graham was fined $300 for using her whip 6 times prior to the 100m, one more than permissible under the rule.
 
Fun Tickets – Slow to begin.
 
Was It Worth It – Dipped shortly after entering the home straight.
 
Cavalero – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
Taraki – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Van Winkel – Raced fiercely in the early stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 400m. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
Red Satin – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Race 6: NORTH TULLAMORE PASTORAL COMPANY Class 1 Handicap 1100m
 
Lunch With Coops – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
Silver Lucy – Approaching the 900m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of BOLD HUNTER which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey R Stewart, rider of BOLD HUNTER, was found guilty of careless riding and his licence to ride in races was suspended for 7 days to commence midnight Sunday 13 September and to expire midnight 20 September 2020.
 
Commander's Watch - Approaching the 800m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of BOLD HUNTER which rolled in marginally when awkwardly placed to the inside of the heels of LAW OFFICE.
 
Super Leon – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
Race 7: ONSITE FLEET MAINTENANCE Class 3 Plate 1600m
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow rider of ZIGGI ROCKS, S Wiseman to view the films to ascertain whether or not her mount was afforded a fair start. After viewing the films, submissions were made on behalf of ZIGGI ROCKS to be declared a non runner due to the outside gate slightly bouncing back after jumping away. After hearing evidence and viewing the available films, stewards were of the belief that ZIGGI ROCKS was not impeded in a manner that his chances were materially affected and as such, correct weight was declared.
 
Niatross – Was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 3.50pm after being found to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer R Vale was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to a future race start.
 
The Deckeraider – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after competing in the past 7 days and was passed fit to start. Slow to begin and had to be restrained off the heels OKIE shortly after.
 
Not Liable – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
Stubai – Overraced in the early stages
 
Miss Star – Slow to begin.
 
Say Please – slow to begin. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 8: PAT O'DRISCOLL REAL ESTATE BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1300m
 
Svindal – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Ephesian – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Buster Moon – Overraced in the early middle stages. On entering the home straight, had to take evasive action after improving onto the heels TORRIENTE. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight to approaching the 200m. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages to the inside of SVINDAL which laid in.
 
Strawberry Blonde – When questioned regarding the poor performance, rider J Bayliss stated that when placed under pressure on entering the home straight, his mount failed to respond and ran to the line in a disappointing manner. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Nailed It Nan – Hung out over the concluding stages placing rider J Stanley at a disadvantage.
