Race 1: 1 QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1050 metres

CODY ALTEM - Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Lost off fore plate in running.

HIDDEN JOY – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.

JUST SID – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages.

SHESAYSTHANKS – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to the off hind leg.

TAHLIA GOLD - Overraced in the early and middle stages.

Race 2: BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 1600 metres

ZAMEX – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Approaching the 200m became awkwardly placed on the heels of ELECTRIFIED, which laid out under pressure. Jockey Wiggins, rider of ELECTRIFIED, was reminded of his obligations to stop and straighten his mounts when they shift ground in future.

ELECTRIFIED – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight. Rider R Wiggins was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.

MEATBALL – Slow to begin. Shortly after jumping became awkwardly placed on the heels of LITTLE HUNTER and as a result clipped the heels of LITTLE HUNTER and knuckled.

DON'T WAIVER – Raced wide throughout the event. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, Jockey Baylis reported that in his opinion DON’T WAIVER failed to handle the back up. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

TOWER ROAD – Slow to begin.

STONE WARRIOR – Slow to begin. Approaching the 800m became awkwardly placed on the heels of ELECTRIFIED.

Race 3: Class 4 Handicap 1200 metres

DISCO MO – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

ASTRAL ODYSSEY – trainer R Shannon reported it was his intention for ASTRAL ODYSSEY to settle further forward in todays event. Led.

BESTERS – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

SUNRISE DANCER – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

MYSTERY ELEMENT – Rider N Day was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.

Race 4: Maiden Handicap 1400 metres

MAGNATE – Reared as the start was affected and as a result was slow into stride. Jockey J Baylis reported that his mount failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure and ran to the line in a disappointing manner. A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor post race recovery.

CARLIN TREND – Race wide throughout the event.

NAVARRE – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Rider A Sewell was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.

BALNAGAL – Raced wide throughout the event.

DECK OF ACES – was a late scratching at 8.30am due to no available rider.

SHEZOME – Stewards permitted jockey L Tilley to ride one kilogram overweight due to no available rider.

Race 5: BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1050 metres

ARNWOOD – Hampered on jumping away. Race wide throughout the event. Rider reported that her mount hung out throughout the event.

BOSS BABY – Jumped away awkwardly. Hampered on jumping away.

VERNAZZA – Race wide throughout the event.

ALEYSA'S MIRACLE – Attempted to buck shortly after jumping away. Trainer N Walsh was advised that the mare would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to a future race start.

HARRY ROCKET – Hampered on jumping away. In the vicinity of the 700m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of ARNWOOD which rolled in marginally. Jockey H Richardson, rider of ARNWOOD, was reminded of her obligations to stop and straighten her mounts when they shift ground in future.

Race 6: BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1400 metres

UBIRR ROCK – A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

MISHANI ISTANA – Overraced in the early stages. Passing the 1200m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of HAVANNAH SUNSET, which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. Approaching the 500m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of ROCK ‘N’ SOL which shifted out when insufficiently clear. Jockey R Wiggins, rider of ROCK ‘N’ SOL was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provision of AR131(a). The careless riding being that passing the 500m he allowed his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of MISHANI ISTANA. Jockey R Wiggins had his licence to ride in races suspended for 7 days to commence midnight 7th January 2021 and to expire midnight 14th January 2021.

ROCK 'N' SOL – Raced in restricted room in the early stages to the inside of MISHANI ISTANA.

FIGHT THE KNEAD – Approaching the 1100m was obliged to be restrained to avoid the heels of MISHANI ISTANA which was forced to take evasive action to avoid heels.

HAVANNAH SUNSET – In the vicinity of the 1200m, shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider hampering MISHANI ISTANA.

Race 7: RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1100 metres

GLAM ROCK – Rider H Phillips was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.

CALCULATED RISK – Hampered on jumping away.

ZORRO MACHO – Had to be restrained after improving onto heels approaching the 800m. Approaching the winning post had to be checked after being ridden onto heels. Apprentice M Potgieter was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for carelessly improving his mount where there was insufficient room to do so. Rider M Potgieter was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.

VIKING CLAP – Raced wide throughout the event.

COBAIN – Jumped away awkwardly.

THE OLD BIRD – raced greenly when placed under pressure in the straight.

EMBER – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event.

LENNON'S PADDOCK – Raced wide throughout the event.

PERSAGA – Stewards permitted Jockey B Richardson to replace Jockey L Tilley on the filly after Jockey Tilley was unable to make the weight. Jockey Tilley was fined $300 under the provisions of AR190(3).
