ROCK 'N' SOL – Was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 12.22pm after injuring its near foreleg. Trainer Mr T. Cook was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to accepting for a future race start. OLLIE'S STAND – Overraced in the early and middle stages. TRUST IN ALOHA – As Jockey L. Tilley was unable to make the weight Stewards permitted the late rider change of N. Day. Jockey L. Tilley was fined $400 under the provisions of AR190(3). Fractious in the barriers and was slow to begin. Race 2: MILNE BROS OPEN Handicap 1050 metres MOUNT HOREB – Hampered on jumping away. CHEZBLACK – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. Rider A Sewell was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m, two more than permitted. In determining penalty Stewards took into account that this was Jockey Sewell’s sixth breach in the past twelve months. Race 3: HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY LEESA OLIVE Maiden Plate 1100 metres ANACHEEVA LAD – Jumped away awkwardly. BAGGER TWISTIES – Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. BLUINDI – Jumped away awkwardly contacting the inside barrier partition. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and had to shift out to improve into clear running. HENRY'SASTAR – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early and middle stages. IL CALZINO – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Approaching the 100m became awkwardly placed on the heels of SO SILENT which laid out. REFUTATION – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. MERIDA'S BOW – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. SO SILENT – Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight. Race 4: 4 OSHEN APARTMENTS YEPPOON QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1200 metres ATTACKABEEL – Jumped away awkwardly. JUNGLE BEAT – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Passing the 150m shifted in abruptly and had to be corrected. AGUSTAWYND – Jumped away awkwardly. MONTANA NIGHT – Hampered on jumping away. LASCO – Fractious prior to jumping. Overraced in the early and middle stages. BAY'S SPIRIT – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages. BETTER THAN BAMS – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Race 5: CARLY-MAE PYE MEMORIAL Class 3 Handicap 1200 metres CUBIX – Raced green throughout the event. Approaching the 850m was momentarily inconvenienced when having to be restrained to avoid the heels of POETIC FINAL SAY, which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey L. Tilley, rider of POETIC FINAL SAY, was reminded of his obligations to stop and straighten his mount when they shift ground in future. KAHAYLAAN – Contacted shortly after jumping away the commenced to race fiercely approaching the first turn and raced wide for the remainder of the event. Jockey A Butler stated that his mount proved difficult to steer throughout the event. POETIC FINAL SAY – Raced wide throughout the event. Passing the 700m became awkwardly placed on the heels of KAHAYLAAN. NEW YORK WORLD – Shifted out shortly after jumping away contacting KAHAYLAAN. Overraced in the early and middle stages. LADY LOWBURN – Jockey C. Whitely reported that he became concerned with the action of the mare over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any major abnormalities although LADY LOWBURN was fractious post-race. Trainer J. McConachy was advised that a veterinary clearance would still be required prior to accepting for a future race. BOLD ZIP – Momentarily held up for clear running on entering the home straight. Apprentice Jockey A. Patis was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on six occasions prior to the 100m one more than permitted. In determining penalty stewards took into account that this was Apprentice Patis’ third breach of the rule in the past twelve months. Race 6: THE ROCKS, BAR AND RESTAURANT YEPPOON OPEN Handicap 1400 metres BARACHIEL – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and had to shift out to improve. BOGEY MAN – Slow to begin. Laid out throughout the event. Rider B Appo reported that he had concerns with the action of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. CAVALERO – Rider A Patis accidently dropped whip passing the 400m. POETIC HEART – As Jockey L. Tilley was unable to make the weight Stewards permitted the late rider change of C. McIver. Jockey L. Tilley was fined $400 under the provisions of AR190(3). GYPSY BIKER – Hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight. INDERNILE – Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 300m when racing tight to the inside of GYPSY BIKER which was laying in.
