SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Race 8 Mackay Turf Club 26 November
Trainer A Jones advised Stewards CINDERELLA MAN had pulled up well following its disappointing performance and was showing no ill effects from the outing. He advised due to being caught wide throughout and being fresh up may have contributed to it failing to see out the race.  
 
GENERAL
 
With the current Covid restrictions the following weight alterations were permitted.
 
Race 1: N Day – ROCK EASY - +1kg
Race 2: C Spry – ART BY CONCORDE - +.5kg
Race 7: A Sewell – BOOM ROCKER - +1.5kg
Race 7: N Evans - AUSSIE TYCOON - +1kg
 
Race 1: BELROMA PARK Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
COUNTYA FALLS (NZ) – Was fractious in the barriers prior to jumping. Slow to begin. Held up in the early stages when entering the home straight. Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
CRAIC – Had to be steadied passing the 300m when racing in restricted room when SECLUSION shifted out simultaneously as COUNTYA FALLS (NZ) laid inwards. Both Jockeys C Spry and A Spinks were reminded of their obligations to be mindful of other riders when allowing their mounts to shift ground.  
 
MISHANI PATRIOT – Overraced in the early stages. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
MY MATE VINNY – Held up for clearing running between the 400m and the 250m. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
ROCK EASY – Overraced in the early stages placing Jockey N Day in difficulty.
 
SECLUSION – Shifted outwards passing the 300m hampering another runner.
 
 
Race 2: DIAGEO PTY LTD Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
DOMINIUM – Overraced in the early stages.
 
ART BY CONCORDE – Laid in over the concluding stages. Buffered with IN ORDER as it shifted out to obtain clear running in the home straight.
 
BAY'S SPIRIT – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
BRAZEN ZUMBA – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin.
 
BREAKER BREAKER – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination prior to jumping after becoming fractious in the barriers and was cleared to start. Approaching the 900m was restrained and shifted ground outwards abruptly. Stewards inquired into the incident and questioned Jockeys A. Spinks (BREAKER BREAKER), C. McIver (BAY’S SPIRIT), and L. Morrison (IN ORDER). It was established that IN ORDER which was racing keenly improved onto the heels of GYPSY ROZAY and shifted ground outwards to avoid that runner. BAY’S SPIRIT was which improving wider on the track laid inwards simultaneously placing BREAKER BREAKER in restricted room. Stewards were comfortably satisfied that no one rider was at fault and the incident was predominately caused by the racing manners of the horses involved.
 
IN ORDER – Raced keenly in the early stages. Had to steady to avoid the heels of GYPSY ROZAY near the 900m and as a result shifted outwards. Shortly afterwards had to be restrained when racing in restricted room to the inside of DOMINIUM. Stewards inquired into the incident which occurred and questioned Jockeys L Morrison (IN ORDER), N Day (DOMINIUM), C Eaton (GYPSY ROZAY) and C McIver (BAY’S SPIRIT). It was established that IN ORDER shortly after shifting outwards had raced in restricted room and had to check off the heels of GYPSY ROZAY and DOMINIUM. Stewards were comfortably satisfied that no one rider was at fault and it was due to the racing mannerisms of the horses involved. Held up passing the 400m and when attempting to gain clear running shifted out buffering with ART BY CONCORDE for several strides. Jockey L. Morrison was reprimanded for the manner she shifted ground under AR131(a).    
 
COOEEBAYMAGIC – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
 
Race 3: JP & DA JENKINS PTY LTD QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1050 metres
 
CRAIG AND HOFF – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
JACK O'DIAMONDS – Buffered approaching the 700m.
 
WARRIGAL LAD – Laid outwards making the bend awkwardly. Laid inwards approaching the 500m. 
 
BETTER ASK ROY – Taken wider on the track passing the 800m by BIRDIE BELLE which shifted out abruptly. Raced greenly in the home straight. Jockey D Simmons was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. Stewards took into account that this was Jockey Simmons’ sixth breach of the respective rule.
 
BEAN DEADLY – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
BIRDIE BELLE – Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Became awkwardly placed on the heels of ITSA CLAMITY and shifted out abruptly in the vicinity of the 800m. Laid inwards throughout the home straight.
 
JUST VERA – Jumped away awkwardly, shifting outwards.
 
MAYHEM GIRL – Raced wide throughout the event. Made the bend awkwardly. Raced ungenerously down the home straight.
 
SUNDARA – Slow to begin.
 
ITSA CLAMITY – Had to steady off the heels of WARRIGAL LAD passing the 800m. Steadied approaching the 500m when approving onto the heels of WARRIGAL LAD which had shifted inwards. Was further denied clear racing room near the 400m.
 
TAKEN BY THEFT – Jumped away awkwardly momentarily unbalancing Jockey A Spinks. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
 
Race 4: R.E.M.S. BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1050 metres
 
ZARNADO – Hampered on jumping by EMILEE’S EMPIRE.
 
I'M JACKO – Raced wide throughout the event. Forced wider rounding the first turning passing the 800m, bumping with COUNTESS ROSTOVA. Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight. Jockey M Gray was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on eight occasions prior to the 100m three more than permitted. Stewards took into account that this was Jockey Gray’s third breach of the respective rule.
 
ARARRAC – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
COUNTESS ROSTOVA – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
MYMILL – Slow to begin. Made the first turn awkwardly laying outwards. Overraced middle stages.
 
MASTER RICHARD – Slow to begin. Hampered shortly after the start.
 
TRIDACNA – Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
OUR ARIANA – Slow to begin.
 
EMILEE'S EMPIRE – Shifted out shortly after jumping.
 
 
Race 5: DC MOTORS-ROCKHAMPTON AUTO GROUP BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1050 metres
 
BITTERGREYMAGIC – Raced wide throughout the event. Buffered with SCORIA STAR passing the 400m.
 
ADDOCARR – Failed to muster early speed and lost contact with the body of the field finishing tailed off. Jockey N Day reported that gelding felt awkward in its stride throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer L Horstman was advised that ADDOCARR would be required to trial satisfactory prior to it’s next race start.
 
CHESTO'S DREAM – Laid in when placed under pressure passing the 200m.
 
SCORIA STAR – Slow to begin. Approaching the 600m was held up for clear running before electing to shift out. Bumped with BITTERGREYMAGIC passing the 400m. Laid outwards over the concluding stages.
 
STILL FEELING IT – Raced wide throughout the event. When questioned regarding today’s performance Jockey A Spinks advised that it had hung out throughout the event and he had difficulty controlling his mount. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Jockey A. Spinks was reprimanded under AR132(6)(h) for the manner in which he used his whip.  
 
SHESAYSTHANKS – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
 
Race 6: CAPRICORN REWIND ELECTRICAL OPEN Handicap 1100 metres
 
CHEZBLACK – Jockey N Day stated that he believed that CHEZBLACK had come to the end of its campaign and having to carrying extra weight had contributed towards today’s performance. Trainer S Sigvart advised CHEZBLACK would be sent for a spell prior to resuming racing.
 
JAY JAY – Laid out over the concluding stages.
 
THE CONSIGLIERE – Hampered on jumping by KINGS COUNTRY which shifted in. Made the home turn awkwardly.
 
KINGS COUNTY – Jumped away awkwardly shifting in hampering THE CONSIGERE. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
 
Race 7: PUT ROCKY ON YOUR RADAR Class 6 Plate 1600 metres
 
CAVELLTON – Laid inwards passing the 400m unconvincing RUFFIN’ IT (NZ). Laid outwards over the concluding stages.
 
DAUNTING WARRIOR – Hampered on jumping by SIZZLEPEL. Shifted outwards when placed on the heels over DECK OF ACES passing the 900m.
 
RUFFIN' IT (NZ) – Raced in restricted room passing the 400m when CAVELLTON laid inwards.
 
AUSSIE TYCOON – Brushed on jumping with BOOM ROCKER.
 
BOOM ROCKER – Brushed on jumping with AUSSIE TYCOON.
 
SIZZLEPEL – Jumped away awkwardly shifting out hampering another runner. Overraced in the early stages.
 
 
Race 8: GREAT NORTHERN BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1300 metres
 
LOUIE THE LEGEND – Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight. Trainer G. Bell advised that LOUIE THE LEGEND would now be sent for a spell.
 
BANTU BAY – Rider A Spinks advised BANTU BAY had failed to let down in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
ASK NINO – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
HELLUVA HOFFA – Slow to begin.
 
I AM CLEVER – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure near the 200m becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of STARGIRL.
