QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPRT ROCKHAMPTON JOCKEY CLUB Monday 13th December 2021 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING –Good 3 RAIL – +7m EntirePENETROMETER – 4.7 OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – C AllisonStewards – D Aurisch, D Macklyn and E SuliClerk of Scales – W WelburnJudge – S BryantVeterinarian – Dr S OlsenSwab Attendants – E BurgessStarter – T Williams GENERAL The following riders were permitted to ride at the amended weights due to current restrictions: Race 3: C Whiteley – YUFCALLEDCHARLIE - + 1kgRace 5: L Tilley – HILFLAGER - + 0.5kgRace 7: N Day – SANTORINI SUMMER - + 1kg R McMahon was fined $200 for accepting rides on JINK AND JIVE and ECHO POINT in races three and four respectively when he was unable to make the correct weight. Race 1: RAMSAY PHARMACY QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1050 metres BATTLEDANCE – A post-race veterinary revealed the colt to have a minor laceration to its tongue. BONAUGURA – Fractious in the barriers prior to jumping. Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. SWEET WAY'S – When questioned regarding todays performance, Jockey J Stanley stated that after receiving every opportunity the filly failed to respond to his riding urges over the concluding stages. Mr Stanley also stated that the firmer track conditions today may have also been a contributing factor.BRIGHT AND READY – Raced greenly in the home straight. Race 2: RJC MEMBERSHIP 2022 QTIS Three-Years-Old Class 2 Handicap 1300 metres JUNGLE BEAT – Overraced in the early stages. WHOSHOTTHEMAGICIAN – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out hampering MAGNETIC DRIVE. MAGNETIC DRIVE – Hampered on jumping by WHOSHOTTHEMAGICIAN which shifted out. STILL FEELING IT – Raced keenly throughout the early stages. SUNDARA – Laid out entering the home straight near the 500m. SHESAYSTHANKS – Jumped away awkwardly shifting in abruptly and was slow to begin. Overraced throughout the event. Shifted out abruptly passing the 1000m. Tailed off from the field over the concluding stages. Trainer Z Hohn was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s record due to its racing manners. Ms Hohn stated that SHESAYSTHANKS would no longer be preserved with from her stable. Race 3: BECOME A CLUB 150 MEMBER 2022 Maiden Handicap 1050 metres The start of the race was delayed for approximately two minutes due to multiple runners being difficult to load. WHOA LOLA – Was declared a late scratching at 1:27pm due to its pre-race manners after refusing to parade to the start. All monies invested on WHOA LOLA were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on the winner and placegetters prior to 1:27pm: 45 cents in the dollar for the win MILITARY FORCE30 cents in the dollar for the place of the winner MILITARY FORCE 32 cents in the dollar for second place INFORMER26 cents in the dollar for third place TAKEN BY THEFT Trainer A Clark was advised that WHOA LOLA would require a satisfactory trial prior to any future race start. WHOA LOLA was later treated by the veterinarian in the stalls for a laceration to its near hind leg. MILITARY FORCE – Was fractious in the barriers prior to jumping. ALBERTESSA – Over raced in the early stages. Hampered on jumping by GOLDEN OUTBARK which shifted outwards. Laid inwards approaching the 900m. GOLDEN OUTBACK – Proved difficult to load. Jumped away awkwardly shifting outwards, hampering ALBERTESSA. Jockey L Tilley became concerned with the gelding actions over the concluding stages and was not fully tested. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Trainer P O’Toole was advised a veterinary clearance was required prior to the gelding racing next. JINK AND JIVE – Slow to begin. BAY'S SPIRIT – Jumped away awkwardly. TAKEN BY THEFT – Raced wide throughout the event. Jockey A Spinks was reminded of his obligations to ensure he fully rides his mount out to the finish line. YUFCALLEDCHARLIE – Slow to begin. Overraced in the middle stages, becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of GOLDEN OUTBACK. When questioned regarding todays performance Jockey C Whiteley stated that after overracing the gelding failed to run on over the concluding stages and he was surprised with the support in the market. INFORMER – Trainer G Richardson was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for the late rider notification of A Sewell. SHE JUST SAID IT – Jockey N Day was fined $100 under AR190(3) for accepting a ride when unable to make the weight. In determining penalty stewards took into consideration Mr Day’s good record. Raced wide with cover throughout the event. Race 4: GREAT NORTHERN BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1500 metres BERNIE'S TIGER – Passing the 800m became awkwardly placed on the heels of ECHO POINT and had to be restrained. When questioned regarding today’s performance, Apprentice Jockey E Bell advised that after having to take hold passing the 800m BERNIE’S TIGER failed to run on over the final stages despite her urging but could offer no explanation. HI HARRY – Raced wide throughout the event. OCTAVIAN – Slow to begin. Laid in over the concluding stages bumping with ECHO POINT. ECHO POINT – Bumped with OCTAVIAN over the concluding stages. Race 5: BUTLER PARTNERS Class 3 Handicap 1300 metres I'M THE BUSINESS (NZ) – Raced wide throughout the event. BLUINDI – When questioned regarding todays performance Jockey J Stanley advised that BLUINDI never felt comfortable during the running and he felt that the horse had jarred up in the firmer ground today. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. CUBIX – Slow to begin. STARSONIC – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination prior to jumping after his leg was caught in the barriers and was cleared to start. Laid out over the concluding stages. HILFLAGER – Was taken inwards by KOTABHARU near the 150m.Jockey L Tilley was reprimanded under AR227(a) in that he failed to seek permission to ride his mount 0.5kg over its allocated weight by the prescribed time. KOTABHARU – Laid inwards over the concluding stages. BUSTER MOON – Overraced passing the 900m. Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight. Race 6: CAPRICORN REWIND AND ELECTRICAL MAGIC MILLIONS COUNTRY CUP QUALIFIER Open Handicap 1200 metres RHYME NOR RHYTHM – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Raced in restricted room from the 500m to the 300m.STAR OF O'REILLY (NZ) – Shifted in on jumping hampering BOGEY MAN. Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid out over the concluding stages. Jockey R McMahon was fined $300 under AR211(1) for returning to scale in excess of 0.5kg over the weight in that he was required to carry. RAIDEN – Made the bend awkwardly approaching the 700m. BOGEY MAN – Slow to begin. Hampered on jumping by STAR OF O’REILLY(NZ) which shifted in. JAY JAY – Slow to begin. Race 7: FM STUDIOS Class 6 Plate 1050 metres AHOOSHU – Bumped with CARDICE on jumping. MISHANI REBEL – Was fractious in the barriers prior to jumping. SANTORINI SUMMER – Was awkward in its action over the concluding stages. Jockey N Day confirmed that he felt that the gelding had jarred up and felt uncomfortable in its forelegs over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. ORNATE – Slow to begin. CARDICE – Bumped with AHOOSHU on jumping. Inconvenienced passing the 200m by the tiring SANTORINI SUMMER. Race 8: RACING THURSDAY 30 DECEMBER Class 1 Handicap 1050 metres MY BOY SAM – Jockey P Hamblin was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m two more than permitted. When determining penalty stewards took into consideration this was Jockey Hamblin’s fifth breach of the perspective rule within the previous 12 months. NOR FORCE – Bumped with ZARNADO on jumping. ZARNADO – Bumped with NOR FORCE on jumping. Raced wide in the early stages. THE CROWN – Raced wide throughout the event. Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight. KASINOVA KID – Proved difficult to load. Laid inwards over the concluding stages. CHATILLY – Was cleared to race after undergoing a pre-race veterinary examination after racing at Mackay on the 9th of December. Passing the 800m, had to steady to avoid the heels of KASINOVA KID which was shifting in. Jockey B Pengelly (KASINOVA KID) was reminded of his obligations to exercise more care when shifting his mounts in the future. PERIODIGAL – Jumped away awkwardly shifting in making contact with CINDERELLA MAN and as a result was slow to begin. CINDERELLA MAN – Laid in over the concluding stages. CAMAROSA – Raced wide in the early stages. Stewards took initial evidence in relation to an incident which occurred in the mounting yard post-race prior to Jockey B Pengelly weighing in. The matter was adjourned with Mr Pengelly and trainer N Walsh to be questioned further by Stewards. Race 9: MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE RJC RATINGS BAND 0 – 55 Handicap 1400 metres COUNTYA FALLS (NZ) – Shifted ground nearing the 400m to obtain clear running. POETIC FINAL SAY – Raced wide in the middle stages. Laid out over the concluding stages. LASTOFTHE MOHICANS – Rider B Pengelly was reminded of his obligations in relation to ensure he fully rides his mount out to the finish line. HELLUVA HOFFA – Slow to begin. MASTER RICHARD – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. COMMANDER'S WATCH – Raced wide throughout the early stages. Stewards intend to enquire into the manner rider A Spinks rode over the concluding stages. AUSSIE TYCOON – Hampered on jumping by HELLUVA HOFFA and as a result was slow to begin.
