GENERAL The following weight alterations were authorised by Stewards due to the current covid restrictions: Race 3: C Whiteley – DAUNTING QUEEN - + 0.5kgRace 3: A Sewell – TEZOFF - + 0.5kgRace 4: N Day – ITSA CALAMITY - + 1kgRace 4: A Sewell – DAUNTING PRINCESS - + 0.5kgRace 5: C Whiteley – SUN LILY - +0.5kg As Jockey Ashley Butler was overweight for his engagement in race 4, he was subsequently replaced as per the steward’s summary. Jockey A Butler was reprimanded under AR190(3) for accepting rides when overweight. Race 1: ULTON QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1050 Metres TOUR DE DREAM – As the filly sustained an injury to its hind legs on arrival to the course it was subsequently declared a late scratching by order of the stewards at 1:30pm Trainer J. Morgan was advised the filly will require a veterinary clearance prior to returning to racing. DOUBLE PROOF – Slow to begin. NOT YOUR DAME – Began awkwardly. SHE'S WINNING – Began awkwardly. Raced three-wide without cover throughout. Following the event, Jockey J. Stanley was assessed by the Queensland Ambulance Service after sustaining an injury to his right shoulder. Jockey J Stanley was further stood down for all remaining engagements. Jockey Stanley was advised he would require a medical clearance prior to his next race ride and was subsequently replaced on all remaining rides as per the Steward’s summary. Race 2: USG BORAL BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1050 Metres WANDER – Began awkwardly. EMILEE'S EMPIRE – Jockey Nathan Day was fined $500 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100m, 3 more than permitted. MISHANI REBEL – Began awkwardly, making contact with CALPURNIA. CALPURNIA – Hampered on jumping by MISHANI REBEL. Nearing the 900m, momentarily steadied to avoid the heels of ELUSIVE EAGLE. Apprentice Tahlia Fenlon was advised to exercise more care with shifting ground in the future. Tailed off over the concluding stages, taking no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer J Manzelmann was advised that the filly would be barred from racing at all TAB venues until its form improves. Race 3: KENNA'S CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS OPEN Handicap 1300 Metres MASTER JAMIE – Jumped away awkwardly. Brushed the running rail near the 700m. DAUNTING QUEEN – Slow to begin. Improved onto the heels of TEZOFF near the 700m, having to be steadied. JAY JAY – Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight. TEZOFF – Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 700m and was forced to steady. Race 4: BECOME A MEMBER 2022 QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1100 Metres SHERWOOD PRINCE – Was fractious in the barriers prior to jumping. Jumped away awkwardly, making heavy contact with BEAN DEADLY. BEAN DEADLY – Raced three-wide without cover throughout. Apprentice T. Fenlon was reminded of her obligation to ride her mount out to the line. BOUDICA'S GIFT – Shifted out to obtain clear running in the home straight. ITSA CLAMITY – Jumped away awkwardly, contacting BOUDICA’S GIFT, and as a result lost ground at the start. Race three-wide with cover throughout. DAUNTING PRINCESS – Steadied for a short period of time approaching the finishing post when SHERWOOD PRINCE shifted in and TOY BLAZE shifted out momentarily. Race 5: ST PATRICK'S RACEDAY - SATURDAY 12 MARCH Maiden Plate 1100 Metres THORBEN – Passing the 100m, laid in when placed under pressure, brushing the hind quarters of MORE THAN CHARGED. ALLANON – Reared on jumping and significant ground. Tailed off shortly after the start and was withdrawn from the event by its rider. Upon returning to scale Jockey R. Wiggins advised that after beginning poorly, his bridle malfunctioned and as a result he was unable to steer his mount and elected to withdraw it from the event. Trainer R. Vale was advised that ALLANON will be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to returning to racing. KILKENNY DAZZLER – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight. LADY CONAVARO – Raced three-wide throughout the event. Race 6: GREAT NORTHERN Class 1 Handicap 1600 Metres Following the running of race 6, the declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow stewards to view the patrol footage over the concluding stages, as well as allow the connections of both FRANKIE BLUE EYES and LETS TORQUE A DEEL to view the photo finish image. Once stewards were comfortably satisfied, correct weight was declared on the judge’s placings. SEBERTON – Raced wide without cover in the early stages before obtaining a leading position near the 1300m. Raced in restricted room passing the 400m, bumping with PRUNDA on a number of occasions. LADY SNITCH – Began awkwardly. FLEETINGLY – Began awkwardly, making contact with FRANKIE BLUE EYES and as a result lost ground. PRUNDA – Approaching the 400m, was placed in restricted room, checked and lost ground when TOY WHITTY shifted in. Apprentice M Potgieter (the rider of TOY WHITTY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that approaching the 400m, he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of PRUNDA, resulting in that runner being placed in restricted room, checked and lost ground. Apprentice Potgieter’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of eight days to commence midnight the 20th of February 2022 and to conclude midnight the 28th of February 2022. In determining penalty, stewards took into account Apprentice Potgieter’s guilty plea and previous record. Race 7: HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY WILL JOHNSTON Class 3 Plate 1300 Metres DR NEIGH – Raced wide throughout the event. Apprentice Jockey A Patis was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m. DECK OF ACES – Hung in down the home straight. SWEET VENOM – Slow to begin. MILITARY FORCE – Raced three-wide in the early stages. IN ORDER – Momentarily held up for clearing running passing the 600m.
