GENERAL
 
The following weight alterations were authorised by the Stewards due to the current Covid restrictions;
Race 2: Adam Sewell -  FLEETINGLY - +0.5kg
Race 5: Nathan Day - SONIC ARROW - +1.kg
 
 
Race 1: HAPPY 50TH GRANT WILSON QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden
Handicap 1100 metres
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow trainer T Button and rider of ANJUVY a view of the patrol footage. After viewing the footage correct weight was declared on the Judge’s placings.
 
FLAMING HOMER – Steadied from heels near the 150m when SECRET QUALITY was taken outwards by OLYMPIC MOTTO.
 
SECRET QUALITY – Forced wider near the 150m by OLYMPIC MOTTO.
 
READYENTIME – Fractious in barriers. Raced greenly over the early stages. When questioned regarding the below market expectation performance Jockey C. Spry advised that after beginning poorly his mount failed to settle in the early stages. He further added that as his amount laid in from the 500m he was unable to fully test his mount in the home straight. Stewards noted Jockey Spry’s explanation.
 
ANJUVY – Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid out when placed under pressure from the 400m. Hampered approaching the 100m when STREET GLORY laid inwards.
 
PARA PARK MAKEUP – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
STREET GLORY – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight despite the efforts of its rider.
 
OLYMPIC MOTTO – Shifted out near the 150m forcing another runner wider.
 
 
Race 2: 2022 CYS CARNIVAL FRIDAY 8-SUNDAY 10 APRIL Class 3
Plate 1600 metres
 
LOUIS JANUARY – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages before obtaining a leading position near the 1400m.
 
WHYKAYOH – Began awkwardly. Apprentice T. Fenlon was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip six times prior to the 100m one more than permitted.
 
KOTABHARU – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
FLEETINGLY – Laid in for a short distance near the 400m. Jockey A, Sewell accidentally dropped his whip near the 100m.
 
 
Race 3: HYGAIN MITAVITE CYS OPEN Handicap 1400 metres
 
BOGEY MAN – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
HI HARRY – Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
SVINDAL – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 4: ST PATRICK'S RACEDAY - SATURDAY 12 MARCH QTIS
Three-Year-Old Maiden Ha 1100 metres
 
BOOM TIME BABY – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels and was forced to restrain shortly after the start. Raced keenly through the early stages. Momentarily held up for clear running near the 600m.
 
IRON MASK – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
ROSIE'S DAY – Began awkwardly tightening another runner to the outside. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have bled from both nostrils. Trainer T. Button was advised that the horse would be stood down from racing for a period of three months and must complete a satisfactory 1000m gallop in front of stewards prior to resuming racing.
 
DIDN'T ASK ME – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages. Improved onto the heels of IRON MASK near the 700m and was forced to restrain.
 
 
Race 5: VODKA CRUISER ST PAT'S PARTY BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1200 metres
 
LIMPET – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages. Laid out when placed under pressure from the 400m.
 
KASHKAR – Began awkwardly. Commenced to weaken from the 400m taking no further competitive part in the event. When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance, Apprentice T. Fenlon advised that her mount  felt awkward in in action when entering the home straight failed to respond when placed under pressure proving disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. 
 
STARHATTAN – Trainer S. Kendrick was fined $100 under LR.67 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time.
 
ASHCROFT – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up for racing room in the early part of the home straight. Shifted out to obtain clear running near the 300m.
 
SONIC ARROW – Was forced to momentarily steady from the heels of KASHKAR when shifting in to obtain a rearward position on the fence shortly after the start.
 
MASTER RICHARD – Raced three wide without cover through the early and middle stages.
