GENERAL

Stewards inquired into a report received from the Integrity Investigations Team (IIT) in relation to MISS LOT WON. During the inquiry, Stewards heard evidence from IIT Steward R Jackson in relation to observations he had made during a routine stable inspection at 7:15am on 9th April 2022. Mr Jackson stated that he observed the filly had had box bandages on both front legs. After contacting Trainer T Button and subsequently asking Mr Button to remove the box bandages, Mr Jackson stated he observed that under the box bandages, anti-inflammatory poultice bandages had been applied to the filly’s legs and hooves.

Mr Button confirmed that he had applied the anti-inflammatory poultice bandages on 8th April 2022 after arriving in Rockhampton. Mr Button further stated that the filly had cast the near fore plate during travel to Rockhampton and that the filly’s leg had shown signs of swelling. He stated that his intentions were to reduce the swelling in the filly’s leg and have the filly reshod and examined by the veterinary surgeon upon arriving on course.

Taking into consideration the evidence tendered, stewards ordered order that MISS LOT WON be scratched at 1:20pm under the provisions of AR249(3). Stewards further adjourned the matter to a date and time to be fixed.
