SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
GENERAL
Jockey C McIver was unwell and did not attend today’s meeting and was replaced on his rides as per the summary.
 
Stewards permitted the following weight alterations
Race 7: BRAD – J Huxtable - + .5kg
Race 7: CABALO ESCURO – A ALLEN - + .5kg
 
Stewards opened an inquiry into the alleged race day treatment of WHOA LOLA, which was engaged to race in race six today. After taking evidence from the Integrity Investigation Team (IIT) and trainer Mr A. Clark it was established that WHOA LOLA was administered an injection and was stomach tubed at approximately 10:30am on race day. After considering the evidence tendered, stewards, acting under the provisions of AR255(3)(a) ordered the runner be scratched at 2:10pm. As multiple swab samples were taken from the mare, stewards adjourned the matter until a time and date to be fixed.
 
Race 1: MILNE BROS COUNTRY CUP BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1600 metres
 
GEOFFROY – Began awkwardly.Over raced through the early and middle stages establishing a lengthy lead.
 
AUVERGNE – Over raced early stages and was caught wide before obtaining cover near the 800m.
 
BOLD ZIP – Slow to begin
 
AUSSIE TYCOON – Rider J Van Overmeire was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 2: CLARK RUBBER QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN Handicap 1050 metres
 
NEVER BEEN BETTER – Slow to begin. Laid inwards in the early stages of the home straight. When questioned regarding the performance rider B. Loy advised that after beginning poorly his mount raced greenly thereafter and as a result failed to respond when placed under hard riding throughout. A post-race veterinary examination failed to detect any abnormalities.
 
SO NOBLE – Raced wide throughout.
 
ALEACO – Began awkwardly. Raced greenly over the concluding stages.
 
CRAIGLEA AGENA – Slow to begin. Over raced through the early and middle stages. Momentarily held up for clear running near the 700m.  Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
VALTINO – Raced keen over the early stages. Near the 900m momentarily raced in restricted room and was forced to ease when DASHING GEE GEE shifted inwards to obtain a leading position on the rails. Forced wider on the home turn and became awkwardly placed when SWEET JINA shifted out marginally.
 
THINKICANGIDDYUPGO – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
SOPHIA'S READY – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
 
Race 3: LEXUS OF ROCKHAMPTON AMATEURS CUP OPEN Handicap 1600 metres
 
Track conditions were upgraded to a Good 4 prior to running of this race.
 
MONSIEUR MACRON (NZ) – Bumped with DEEP BREATH over the final stages.
 
DEEP BREATH – Shifted inwards shortly after the start. Laid inwards throughout the home straight and bumped with MONSIEUR MACRON over the final stages.
 
QUALITY ASSET – Raced keenly near the 1400m. Laid inwards throughout the home straight. Jockey N Day was reprimanded for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m two more than permitted pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii).
 
FISH ON – Raced wide from the 900m.
 
 
Race 4: FRASERS LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT MAIDEN PLATE 1200 metres
 
BRINGTHELOVE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
LONDON BELL (NZ) – Bumped on jumping. Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
MOONSCAPE – Jumped awkwardly making contact with LONDON BELL. Laid inwards in the home straight. Rider J Van Overmeire was reprimanded for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m, two more than permitted under AR132(7)(a)(ii).
 
VICTORY LIGHTS – Rider Z Spain dropped his whip approaching the 300m.
 
ZATARA – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow as a result. Raced wide throughout.
 
MISS PIPER – Jumped awkwardly. Raced fiercely early stages. Was inclined to lay out throughout. Held up approaching the home turn.
 
 
Race 5: REO HEAVY EQUIPMENT REPAIRS RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1100 metres
 
The start of this race was delayed to allow the running of an international event.
 
NUKE – Fractious in the barrier.
 
FARMER'S FRIEND – Fractious in the barrier prior to the start. Tightened at the start and lost ground.
 
ARQUERA – Began awkwardly. Had to be steadied near the 150m when racing in restricted room to the outside of ROSETTES.
 
MISS MECCA – Raced keenly through the middle stages.
 
LIVERPOOL GAL – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
 
AWESOME POWER – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
CHICO – Stewards permitted Z Spain to ride the gelding at 1.5kg overweight due to no other rider being available.
 
GYPSY ROZAY – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 6: KNIGHT FRANK AGRIBUSINESS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres
 
PATROLLING – Jumped away awkwardly.Over raced early and middle stages.
 
VELARO – Stood flat footed at the start and was slow to muster early speed losing considerable ground. Commenced to weaken from the 600m taking no further competitive part. A post-race veterinary examination failed to disclose any abnormalities. A warning was placed on the gelding’s racing performance.
 
MISS SILKY – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
TIME FOR VICTORY – Raced wide in the early stages before obtaining a leading position near the 900m.

WHOA LOLA – Late scratching at 2.10pm by order of Stewards.
 
 
Race 7: PARADISE LAGOONS 2022 THE FITZROY OPEN 1300 metres
 
BOLLENTE – Jumped away awkwardly. Approaching the 800m improved onto heels and had to be restrained.
 
BARNEY'S LAW – Fractious in the barriers before the start. Began awkwardly tightening CABALO ESCURO. Raced wide throughout.
 
MONTENEGRO MAN – Held up for clear running from the 600m until a point near the 250m.
 
SIR WARWICK – Jumped awkwardly making contact with THE TAX ACCOUNTANT. Had to be steadied shortly after the start when EMILEE’S EMPIRE shifted inwards. Jockey N. Day (the rider of EMILEE’S EMPIRE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that a point leaving the 1250m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of SIR WARWICK, AHOOSHU and AMOUNDI BAY resulting in SIR WARWICK and AHOOSHU being steadied from heels and AMOUNDI BAY clipping heels and losing ground. Jockey Day’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of eight days to commence midnight 14/5/2022 and to conclude midnight 22/5/2022. Jockey Day was advised of his right to an internal review.
 
 
THE TAX ACCOUNTANT – Bumped with SIR WARWICK.
 
CABALO ESCURO – Tightened for room after jumping losing ground. Slow to begin.
 
SMART 'N' SEXY (NZ) – Began awkwardly.
 
AMMOUDI BAY – Jumped away awkwardly bumping with BOLLENTE. Clipped heels of AHOOSHU which had been steadied to avoid SIR WARWICK which had been dictated inwards shortly after the start.  Lay inwards early stages of home straight.
 
AHOOSHU – Impeded shortly after the start when SIR WARWICK was shifted inwards by EMILEE’S EMPIRE.
 
HEZHOME – Stewards permitted T Chambers to ride HEZHOME 1kg overweight due to no other available rider.
 
EMILEE'S EMPIRE – Shifted inwards sharply shortly after the jump impeding SIR WARWICK resulting in AHOOSHU having to be steadied and AMOUNDI BAY clipping heels.

EMMA'S JET – Improved onto heels leaving the 750m and had to be steadied. A post-race veterinary examination revealed EMM’A JET had suffered a laceration to the near side hind leg. 
 
 
Race 8: BENTLEYS 2022 THE ARCHER 1300 metres
 
GEM SONG – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
TYZONE – Slow to begin.
 
NICCANOVA – Improved onto heels and had to be steadied near the 800m.Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run home.
 
CROSSHAVEN – Raced wide throughout.
 
KUBRICK – Hampered on jumping by EMERALD KINGDOM.
 
MASTER JAMIE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
VENTURA OCEAN (IRE) – Lay inwards in the home straight.
