GENERAL

Race 1: PROFESSIONALS LIVINGSTON & MOLLOY REAL ESTATE Class 3 Handicap 1400 metres
 
SRINI – Slow to begin. Jockey A Coome was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on six occasions prior to the 100m one more than permitted.
 
ALLANON – Bumped on jumping by NICCYAS and as a result was slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages of the event. Shifted in passing the 600m making contact with the hind quarters of NICCYAS. Laid in over the concluding stages forcing PHOENIX FLYER inwards.
 
NICCYAS – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out bumping ALLANON. Passing the 600m became unbalanced for a number of strides after ALLANON shifted in bumping its hind quarters.
 
MARTO – Slow to begin. Over raced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
PHOENIX FLYER – Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the ride over the concluding stages Apprentice M Castle stated that after racing in restricted room, she was mindful that ALLANON continued to shift in prior to the finish post and elected to steady her mount over the final strides to avoid heels. After viewing the Stewards footage and hearing Ms Castle’s explanation Stewards noted her explanation. Apprentice Jockey M Castle was fined $200 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on seven occasions times prior to the 100m two more than permitted.
 
AUSSIE TYCOON – Jumped away awkwardly. Shifted outwards off heels passing the 150m to obtain clear racing room.
 
 
Race 2: THOMO'S BETTA HOME LIVING QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1100 metres
 
 
ISIS CARMELLA – Jumped away awkwardly shifting in bumping with TOY BLAZE. Laid in when placed under pressure over the concluding stages of the event.  
 
BEAN DEADLY – Shifted in on jumping bumping with DAUNTING PRINCESS. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. When questioned regarding the performance in today’s event Apprentice Jockey C Collis advised that BEAN DEADLY tired over the concluding stages and anticipated that the gelding would benefit from today’s run, its first race back after a spell.
 
JUNGLE BEAT – Over raced in the early stages of the event. Held up for clear racing room before electing to shift out to obtain clear racing room approaching the 300m. Laid in when placed under pressure over the concluding stages of the event.
 
ADDRESS UNKNOWN – Laid out when making the bend approaching the 600m.
 
TOY BLAZE – Bumped on jumping by ISIS CARMELLA. Over raced in the early stages of the event.
 
DAUNTING PRINCESS – Shifted out on jumping bumping with BEAN DEADLY.
 
 
Race 3: ION JACKSON MEMORIAL QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1300 metres
 
HELLFIRE BILLY – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event. Laid inwards passing the 600m and had to shift off after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of VALTINO.
 
LICENCED AND READY – When questioned regarding today’s run Apprentice Jockey M Wishart stated that she felt that the filly had come to the end of its campaign.Trainer P Butterworth advised stewards that LICENCED AND READY would be sent for a spell.
 
PARISIAN LADY – Slow to begin. Bumped with ELOHIM passing the 600m. Held up before obtaining clear racing room approaching the 500m.
 
ELOHIM – Passing the 600m shifted in marginally bumping with PARISIAN LADY. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
MISS CINNAMONCIDER – Over raced in the early stages of the event. Upon returning to scale, Jockey N Thomas stated that MISS CINNAMONCIDER had raced keenly in the early stages and after attempting to obtain a run passing the 600m had become awkwardly placed on heels.
 
VALTINO – Raced wide in the early stages of the event. Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Shifted out near the 300m before laying in over the concluding stages of the event.
 
 
Race 4: WENDY MULRY/THE EMPIRE APARTMENTS OPEN Handicap 1400 metres
 
ABSOLUT ARTIE – Jumped away awkwardly. When questioned regarding the performance in today’s event Apprentice Jockey C Collis stated that gelding commenced to tire over the concluding stages and could not offer any other explanation. When questioned regarding the performance of today’s event, Trainer R Vale advised stewards that the gelding had blown hard following the race and he would be arranging blood tests to be taken in the coming days. Apprentice Jockey C Collis was fined $200 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on eight occasions times prior to the 100m three more than permitted.
 
MONTENEGRO MAN – Declared a late scratching at 7:53am on veterinary advice due to lameness in the off foreleg. Trainer J McConachy was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to its next future race start.
 
DAUNTING QUEEN – Over raced in the early stages of the event. Raced wide in the early stages of the event.
 
TEZOFF – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin.
 
 
Race 5: PHIL PEEL JEWELLERS PINK DIAMOND BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1800 metres
 
TONTEIN – Over raced in the early and middle stages of the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
MR DUDWEY – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice Jockey M Wishart was suspended under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on ten occasions prior to the 100m five more than permitted. Apprentice Wishart’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of seven days to commence midnight 27/06/2022 to and conclude midnight 04/07/2022. 
 
TAVI MCBRIDE (NZ) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after striking the outside fence during its preliminary while parading to the barriers and was cleared to start. Apprentice Jockey M Castle was fined $200 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip seven times prior to the 100m two more than permitted.
 
 
Race 6: ROD HARMS RURAL Maiden Handicap 1100 metres
 
DASHING STATEMENT – Slow to begin.
 
VILA TINTO – Jumped away awkwardly shifting out bumping SHE’S OUT THERE.
 
SHE’S OUT THERE – Bumped on jumping by VILA TINTO. Held up in the early stages of the home straight before shifting ground inwards near the 400m. Raced ungenerously over the concluding stages of the event.
 
MISS PIPER – Shifted in on jumping bumping with LARUNDAL. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
LARUNDEL – Hampered on jumping by QUE CEE SPADE which shifted out and MISS PIPER which shifted inwards. Apprentice Jockey C Collis was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on six  occasions prior to the 100m one more than permitted.
 
MOONSCAPE – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
QUE CEE SPADE – Shifted out on jumping hampering LARUNDAL. Laid in when placed under pressure and had to be straightened over the concluding stages of the event.
 
BREAKER BREAKER – Declared a late scratching at 8:28am due to no suitable available rider.
 
FAIRYBOWER FLYER – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
MISS CONFIDANTE – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice Jockey M Castle was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on eight occasions  prior to the 100m three more than permitted.
 
 
Race 7: KENROL BRAHMANS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap1200 metres
 
CAVELLTON – Slow to begin. Held up in the early stages of the home straight before shifting out near the 300m to obtain clear racing room.
 
DARK ARCHER – Held up for clear racing room between the 350m and the 600m.
 
TIME FOR VICTORY – Hampered on jumping by CENTUAR. Raced wide without cover throughout the event.  
 
THE GRADUATE – Held up for clear racing room between the 600m and the 400m.
 
DEEP STATE – Was fractious in the barriers prior to jumping. Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early stages of the event. Upon returning to scale Jockey A Sewell advised that he had difficulty controlling his mount in the early stages.
 
CENTAUR – Jumped away awkwardly shifting out hampering TIME FOR VICTORY. Tired over the concluding stages taking no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

ORNATE – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice Jockey C Collis was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m two more than permitted.
