AMBITIOUS SPIRIT – Raced wide throughout. DIVINE COURAGE – Laid outwards over the final stages. DASHING STATEMENT – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted ground outwards making contact with RUNNINSCARED. Over raced the early stages. Bled from both nostrils and was subsequently stood down for three months and must complete a satisfactory gallop over 1000m in the presence of Stewards prior to resuming racing pursuant to AR79(4). IMARA – R Wiggins was unable to make the contracted weight and was replaced by R Fradd. Mr Wiggins was subsequently fined $200 under AR190(3).Began awkwardly and made contact with BREAKER BREAKER. TURF EDITION – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels and had to steady near the 800m. REGAL FIELD – Jumped away awkwardly tightening runners to its inside. RUNINSCARED – Hampered at the start. Steadied when momentarily placed in restricted room near the 750m. BREAKER BREAKER – Tightened at the start by IMARA and lost ground. FAIRYBOWER FLYER – Laid inwards home straight. LARUNDEL – Raced wide throughout. MISS CINNAMONCIDER – Cast a hind plate while parading to the start. Required farrier attention prior to the start with the filly racing without both hind plates. SUPER ROOSTER – Awkwardly placed on heels near the 750m and had to be steadied. Race 2: TAB QTIS Two-Year-Old & Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1200 metres ANNAKURI – Raced wide early stages. LOVESTONED – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted ground outwards contacting CURRY LEGEND. BIG SKY COUNTRY – Laid outwards near the 800m and shifted ground abruptly. COOL 'N' READY – Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly over the early stages. CURRY LEGEND – Contacted at the jump by LOVESTONED. Raced wide in the early stages and laid inwards for the majority. Near the 200m when laying inwards despite the best efforts of its rider had to steady off heels. ALEACO – Held up for clear racing room nearing the home straight. NAUGHTY POSSUM – Began awkwardly. DEVIL KICK – Hampered at the start. OMBRE VOLANTE – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted outwards contacting COOL ‘N’ READY. BAY'S SPIRIT – Improved onto heels prior to the 600m and had to be restrained. Jockey N Thomas reported his mount was inclined to hang outwards throughout the race. Race 3: ADVANCE ROCKHAMPTON BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1050 metres COURTESY BUS – Raced wide without cover throughout. Lay inwards in the home straight under pressure. Connections advised COUTESY BUS would be sent for a spell prior to resuming racing. KASINOVA KID – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped with IN ORDER. SHOTGUN SONNY – Raced wide with cover. Raced ungenerously middle stages. Lay inwards in the home straight. NO BETTER AFFAIRE – Shifted outwards at the start bumping with THE GRADUATE. THE GRADUATE – Bumped on jumping. Held up in the early stages of the home straight. Had to be restrained near the 300m when placed in restricted room between COUTESY BUS which was hanging inwards and NEW YORK WORLD which momentarily was dictated outwards by IN ORDER which was shifting ground. IN ORDER – Held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight before shifting outwards near the 300m to obtain clear racing room. NUKE – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. NEW YORK WORLD – Slow into stride. Race 4: NUTURF RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1600 metres MENSCHKEIT – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid inwards home straight. IDLING BY – Laid inwards over the concluding stages. YIA MAS – Raced three wide without cover throughout. RUFFIN' IT (NZ) – Over raced early stages. Laid inwards under pressure in the home straight. IN CLOSE REACH – Went to the line untested after improving onto the heels of MENSCHKEIT over the final 100m. Race5: CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES Class 6 Handicap 1200 metres Track conditions were upgraded to a Soft 5 prior to this race. MILL ROSSA – Laid inwards over the final stages. LE FIGARO – Knuckled over at the jump.Buffeted at the start with AERIAL COMBAT. GRAND ZOU – Over raced early and middle stages. Raced wide middle stages. Laid inwards in the home straight. AERIAL COMBAT – Buffeted at the start with LE FIGARO and LOVE ON SUNDAY. LOVE ON SUNDAY – Buffeted at the start with AERIAL COMBAT. Over raced for the majority of the race. Laid inwards over in the home straight.Jockey S Wilson was fined $200 for using his whip on eight occasions prior to the 100m three more than permitted under AR132(7)(a)(ii). Race 6: DRACARYS STALLION BELLE OF CAPRICORNIA FILLIES & MARES BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1400 metres BOLD AND LUCY – R Wiggins was fined $300 for using his whip on six occasions prior to the 100m one more than permitted under AR132(7)(a)(ii) SEMAPHORE GIRL – Hampered on jumping. R Fradd was reprimanded for using his whip on six occasions prior to the 100m one more than permitted under AR132(7)(a)(ii) EPICURIOUS – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow as a result. STARHATTAN – Hampered on jumping. NATURAL EMPEROR – Shifted inwards at the start hampering other runners. Over raced and raced ungenerously through the running. The connections advised the mare would now be retired. L Tilley was reprimanded for using his whip on six occasions prior to the 100m one more than permitted under AR132(7)(a)(ii). MARTO – Raced wide over the early stages. ORNATE – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Laid outwards over the final stages. Stewards questioned Apprentice rider A Patis regarding the tactics she adopted when obtaining a considerable lead over the early and middle stages. Ms Patis advised she had intended to obtain cover however after beginning fairly and not being unable to take cover she elected to allow her mount to take a forward position. She advised ORNATE then commenced to over race despite her efforts, after she attempted to take hold of her mount. Stewards noted Ms Patis’sexplanation. Race 7: GREAT NORTHERN ROCKHAMPTON NEWMARKET Handicap 1300 metres VINCO – Slow to begin. Laid inwards over the final stages despite the efforts of its rider. DOCTOR ZOUS – Near the 1100m had to be restrained when the pace eased slightly. Held up in the early stages of the home straight. Near the 400m shifted ground outwards and made contact with PALLADAS.ONLY WANNA SING – Raced wide over the early stages. AMMOUDI BAY – Laid inwards under pressure in the home straight. Leaving the 50m laid inwards onto the heels of SIR WARWICK and had to be steadied. PLENTY – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground as a result lost ground. Raced keenly over the early stages. Jockey M Du Plessis advised his mount felt awkward in its action over the final stages and heelected not to place pressure on his mount. A post-race veterinary examination disclosed no significant abnormalities. PALLADAS – Near the 50m had to be steadied when racing in restricted room between DOCTOR ZOUS which shifted out and VINCO which shifted inwards. DAUNTING QUEEN – Raced wide throughout. Race 8: KEN RUSSELL MEMORIAL Class 2 Handicap 1300 metres BARNEY'S BLAZE – Rider A Layt was reprimanded for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m two more than permitted under AR132(7)(a)(ii). NUMBERS GAME (NZ) – Laid inwards over the final stages. HILFLAGER – Laid out in the home straight. FIRST SON – When attempting to improve into a marginal run near the 300m had to be steadied. R Wiggins was fined $200 for using his whip on seven occasions two more than permitted pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii). ARGYLE PINK – Crowded at the jump by CACAO. WINE TALKS – Began awkwardly and lost ground. CACAO – Shifted outwards at the jump crowding ARGYLE PINK. Steadied off heels near the 700m when over racing. TOY BLAZE – Shifted outwards shortly after the start contacting ATTACKABELL. ATTACKABEEL – Bumped shortly after the jump.Raced wide through the early stages. MAGIC MOET – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
