SOARING SPIRIT – Stewards permitted Jockey R Wiggins to ride the filly 1kg overweight. Stewards, in electing to take no further action with Jockey Wiggins, took into account the flight delay which had prevented Jockey Wiggins from being able to use the spa facilities and the unavailability of any other riders. Race 3: TAB RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1600 metres The start of this event was delayed as a result of PHYLAVE needing to be resaddled, THORBEN requiring adjustment to the hind plates and STAR OF LEON requiring an adjustment to the tongue tie. The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to review the available patrol footage of the start after a report from the starter that BONDURANT and MIDNIGHT BOOM may have started from the incorrect barriers. After doing so, Stewards were satisfied that those runners had started from the correct barriers and accordingly, declared correct weight. BONDURANT – Raced wide in the early stages before obtaining a leading position on the rail near the 1100 metres. MARTO – Slow to begin.
