Overweight permitted as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

Race 1: CARLY-MAE PYE MEMORIAL QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden
Handicap 1300 metres

HEROIC KNIGHT – Had to be resaddled upon arrival at the barriers. Jockey A Butler could offer no explanation for the below market expectation performance of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

SIRENE – Jumped in the air at the start and lost ground.

ARMEE ADMIRAL – Slow into stride. Inclined to lay in for the majority of the home straight.

TAKERU – Began awkwardly. Jockey C McIver used his whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100 metres (2 more than permitted). Jockey C McIver was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii).

STEP THIS WAY – Inclined to over race in the middle stages. Inclined to lay in for the majority of the home straight.

SOARING SPIRIT – Stewards permitted Jockey R Wiggins to ride the filly 1kg overweight. Stewards, in electing to take no further action with Jockey Wiggins, took into account the flight delay which had prevented Jockey Wiggins from being able to use the spa facilities and the unavailability of any other riders. Laid in for a short distance near the 200 metres.

Race 2: ADLEC SOLAR & ELECTRICAL OPEN Handicap 1500 metres

BARACHIEL – Began awkwardly and bumped with DEEP BREATH.

DEEP BREATH – Bumped on jumping.

BOOM BOOM BECKER – Began awkwardly.Overraced in the early and middles stages.

The track was upgraded to a Good 4 retrospectively of Race 2.

Race 3: TAB RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1600 metres

The start of this event was delayed as a result of PHYLAVE needing to be resaddled, THORBEN requiring adjustment to the hind plates and STAR OF LEON requiring an adjustment to the tongue tie.

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to review the available patrol footage of the start after a report from the starter that BONDURANT and MIDNIGHT BOOM may have started from the incorrect barriers. After doing so, Stewards were satisfied that those runners had started from the correct barriers and accordingly, declared correct weight.

BONDURANT – Raced wide in the early stages before obtaining a leading position on the rail near the 1100 metres.

MARTO – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.Jockey N Summers was fined $200 for using her whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100 metres, 3 more than permitted.

STAR OF LEON – Laid in for a short distance in the early stage of the home straight.

THORBEN – Cast near hind plate in running. Jockey T Chambers was fined $300 for using her whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100 metres, 3 more than permitted.

TYCOON TORI – Slow into stride.

FAR REACHING – Began awkwardly.

RUNINSCARED – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

MALTED MISSILE – Stewards permitted Jockey R Wiggins to ride the gelding 3 kilograms overweight. In acceding to the request, Stewards took into account the extenuating circumstances in that there was no other rider available, that permission had been given for the gelding to be ridden 1.5 kilograms overweight already and that Jockey Wiggins was unable to utilise the spa as a result of the travel delay. Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced in restricted room and was forced to steady near the 1000 metres when KAYE OH was laying in despite the efforts of it’s rider. Inclined to lay in for the majority of the home straight. Held up for clear running from near the 650 metres until leaving the 300 metres.
