GENERAL
After the running of race 1 the track was upgraded to a Good 4.
 
Race 1: HARDCORE SANDS Class 4 Handicap 1300 metres
 
DIVIDE THE SEA – A fraction slow to begin. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
 
THE SQUIRE – Shifted out under pressure over the final 200m.
 
WILD IRISH – Raced keenly when wide during the initial stages before being restrained toward the rear. Jockey Jackson Murphy was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
MERIDA'S BOW – Inconvenienced and carried wider leaving the 200m.
 
Race 2: WALKERS HOT BREAD SHOP OPEN Handicap 1200 metres
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight connections of second placed BOLD STYLE viewed the photo finish and were satisfied with the judge’s placings.
 
BOLD STYLE – Began awkwardly. Jockey Ryan Wiggins was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
JAY JAY – Slow to begin.
 
AGE OF INNOCENCE – Jumped outwards at the start. Raced 3 wide during the initial stages. Jockey Wendy Peel advised that her mount proved to be disappointing and attributed the performance to the rise in class, racing wide initially and the mare did not let down as expected. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Jockey Wendy Peel was fined $200 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
 
Race 3: BELROMA PARK BREEDERS PLATE QTIS Two-Year-Old Colts
& Geldings Maiden 1050 metres
 
IN EVIDENCE – Fractious prior to the start. Slow to begin. Raced greenly throughout.
 
I'M FAMOUS – Very slow to begin.
 
MASTERPLAN – Jumped awkwardly.
 
Race 4: CAUGHT IN THE ACT BREEDERS PLATE QTIS Two-Year-Old
Fillies Maiden Plat 1050 metres
 
SHEZA READY – Jumped awkwardly.
 
TAHKIAN BUBBLES – Bumped and checked soon after the start. Shifted in under pressure close to the finish.
 
DIVINE SIENNA – Slow to begin. Checked off the heels of TEN QUIDD near the 850m. Bumped with PACIFIC HARBOUR near the 50m.
 
TEN QUIDD – Shifted inwards sharply soon after the start bumping with HEDON’TWANTME.
 
HEDON'TWANTME – Slow into stride. Bumped and checked soon after the start.
 
PACIFIC HARBOUR – Shifted out under pressure near the finish bumping with DIVINE SIENNA.
 
Race 5: TAB BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1600 metre
 
 
RUFFIN' IT (NZ) – Pulled hard during the early and middle stages when leading.
 
BETTER ASK ROY – Slow to begin.
 
STAR OF LEON – Pulled hard during the middle stages.
 
PHOENIX FLYER – Jockey Jason Taylor was fined $200 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
Race 6: GREAT NORTHERN Maiden Plate 1500 metres
 
GULF OF SIDRA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after escaping from the handler in the saddling enclosure and was cleared to start.
 
KAYE OH – Jockey Jackson Murphy was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
LACHY'S LAD – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
STEALTH FLYER – Raced wide throughout.
 
ARMEE ADMIRAL – Slow to begin.
 
JANOSIK (NZ) – Held up for a clear run early in the home straight.
 
VANA STAR – Raced wide throughout. Apprentice Olivia Kendal was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m, 2 more than permitted.
 
 
 
Race 7: BARRIER STAFF OF THE YEAR KRIS HANSEN QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1100 metres
 
KURYAKIN – Bumped at the start with PINOCCHIO LASS.
 
SIRENE – Held up for clear running approaching the 500m and bumped with MI’S DREAM. Jockey Chris Whiteley advised that he felt the gelding was not suited by the drop back in distance, compared to the horse’s most recent starts.

EDDYSTONE – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
MIA'S DREAM – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after striking the running rail on the way to the barriers and was cleared to start. Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Bumped with SIRENE approaching the 500m. Hung in under pressure over the concluding stages.

TOP SPY – Slow to begin. Held up for a clear run in the early part of the home straight.

ROCK THE BOX – Raced wide throughout.

SO ODELIA – Unable to obtain clear running until leaving the 400m.

PINOCCHIO LASS – Bumped at the start with KURYAKIN.
 
 
Race 8: CQ HAMILTON PAINTING Class 2 Handicap 1100 metres

BOLD RUMBLE – Bumped on jumping. Underwent a post-race race veterinary examination after appearing awkward in its action over the final stages. The gelding was found to be lame in the off foreleg and has been stood down from racing until receipt of a veterinary clearance.
 
IN'HINCHABLE – Laid in over the final stages and bumped with SIDEARM on multiple occasions.
 
SIDEARM – Hung out over the final stages and bumped with IN’HINCHABLE on multiple occasions.

VITAE – Slow to begin.
 
THE GRADUATE – Bumped on jumping.
 
MISS MECCA – Jumped inwards at the start and bumped THE GRADUATE which in turn bumped BOLD RUMBLE.
