QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT ROCKHAMPTON JOCKEY CLUB SATURDAY 3 DECEMBER 2022 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Good 4 RAIL – TruePENETROMETER – 5.36 OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Shane LarkinsStewards – Chris Allison, Don MacklynClerk of Scales – Garry WustJudge – Steve BryantVeterinarian – Dr Sally-Anne OlsenSwab Attendants – Emelee BurgessStarter – Trent Williams GENERALOverweight permitted as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. The following runners were declared late scratchings at 8am due to no available riders;Race 4 KURYAKIN, Race 5 EMPEROR’S REWARD, JANOSIK (NZ), MISS RINEHART. Due to Jockey Chris McIver being unable to attend the meeting for personal reasons, late rider changes and scratchings as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Trainer Adrian Coome was fined $100 under LR36(6)(a) for failing to scratch dually engaged KINGS COUNTY by the prescribed time. In assessing penalty, stewards considered the trainers clear record and guilty plea. Stewards also took into account that no other runner was potentially impacted by possibly missing out on a start in the races KINGS COUNTY was accepted for. Race 1: WENDY MULRY TRAVEL QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1050 metres The start was delayed slightly due to Albury race 1 running behind schedule. SERGEANT'S PRIDE – Slow to begin. KING ALE – Put in an awkward stride near the 500m when bumped by STELL’S ANGEL. Raced greenly during the run. TAHKIAN BUBBLES – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after striking the gate while leaving the mounting enclosure and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly. Over raced through the early stages and became awkwardly placed on the heels of KING ALE near the 900m and was briefly steadied. Raced greenly under pressure over the concluding stages. STELL'S ANGEL – Raced greenly in the home straight and brushed the running rail near the 400m. Race 2: BFB SCAFFOLDING OPEN Handicap 1100 metres ABSOLUT ARTIE – Apprentice Minonette Kennedy was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) (1st offence) for applying the whip to her mount on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted. KRAVITZ – Jockey Jackson Murphy was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) (3rd offence) for applying the whip to his mount on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted. CAPTAIN FOX – Reluctant to load. Obliged to race three wide from the 1000m when KINGS COUNTY, which had commenced to over race, shifted outwards to progress forward. Bumped with KINGS COUNTY near the 700m and as a result made the turn awkwardly. KINGS COUNTY – Slow to begin. Bumped with CAPTAIN FOX near the 700m. Race 3: LATTER KENNEDY ACCOUNTANTS & BUSINESS ADVISORS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres SABOR – Jockey Ashley Butler advised, that despite being inconvenienced and carried wider in the early part of the home straight, he felt the gelding did not travel overly well and was disappointing over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. SIDEARM – Over raced early. Hung out entering the home straight carrying SABOR wider. Jockey Nathan Thomas advised that after beginning awkwardly the gelding then hung out throughout the run. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. MAGNETIC DRIVE – Over raced during the early stages. Laid outwards over the concluding stages. DAUNTING PRINCESS – Hampered on jumping. Over raced early stages. Jockey Adam Sewell advised that he felt the mare may have got her tongue over the bit during the run. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Race 4: LJ HOOKER QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1100 metres EXECUTIVE STRESS – Jockey Ashley Butler dropped his whip near the 75m. MAXIMUM ALTITUDE – Shifted outwards under pressure over the final 300m. TOUR DE DREAM – Held up for clear racing room for some distance leaving the 400m. was disappointed for a run leaving the 200m when MAXINMUM ALTITUDE shifted out under pressure and ASHIKO BAY shifted in under pressure at the same time. PRINCESS MARIAN – Jockey Hannah Richardson advised that the filly travelled well in the run when leading, however proved to be disappointing over the concluding stages. Connections were at a loss to explain the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery and was treated on course. No veterinary stand down was issued. ASHIKO BAY – Began awkwardly. Shifted in under pressure leaving the 200m. SIX DRINKS IN – Raced wide for the majority of the race. RUBY LAGO – Hung out and raced greenly between the 800m and the 600m and lost contact with the main body of the field before running on reasonably well over the final stages. Race 5: TAB Maiden Plate 1300 metres There was a delay to the start of this race due to THE KING’S PROFIT being examined at the barrier prior to the start. I AM THAT I AM – Awkwardly placed on heels for a distance near the 950m. LYRICAL LOVER – Jockey Tasha Chambers was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) (4th offence) for applying the whip to her mount on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted. THE KING'S PROPHET – Was examined by the veterinarian at the barrier prior to the start after jockey Nathan Thomas advised he had concerns with the gelding’s action while parading to the start. Was subsequently late scratched at 3.59pm on veterinary advice after being found to be lame in the near foreleg. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to the gelding racing again. The following deductions applied;Winner TYCOON TORI – 0 cents win, 2 cents placeSecond LYRICAL LOVER – 3 cents place. TYCOON TORI – Hampered on jumping. Raced wide without cover throughout. Race 6: GREAT NORTHERN BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1300 metres READY FOR MAGIC – Laid in under pressure close to the finish. ADDRESS UNKNOWN – Bumped on jumping. MOONSHINER – Raced wide over the early stages. Inclined to lay inwards for the majority of the race. GOLDEN EIGHTY – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. MENSCHKEIT – Bumped on jumping. MERIDA'S BOW – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running until leaving the 200m.
