Race 1: FRENCHVILLE SPORTS CLUB QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1050 metres DRAGON'S SNIP – Bumped approaching the 400m. KARAKAROO – Passing the 300m had to ease out across the heels of SHEZA READY to maintain clear running. KING ALE – Slow to begin. DIVINE SIENNA – Raced keenly during the early stages. Bumped approaching the 400m. Jockey Adam Sewell reported that the filly raced greenly throughout. ELITE SHAMEKH – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Shifted inwards abruptly shortly after the start. MAGGIE'S ME NAME – Began awkwardly and made heavy contact with the inside barrier partition. Raced wide throughthe early stages. Jockey Justin Stanley advised that the filly felt awkward in her action throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed bruising to the inside of the near hind leg and as such the filly has been stood down from racing until receipt of a veterinary clearance. TRACK TALE – Raced greenly under pressure and shifted out near the 400m bumping with DRAGON’S SNIP, which in turn then bumped with DIVINE SIENNA. Race 2: ROCKHAMPTON MINI LOADS Class 3 Handicap 1050 metres POLICE (NZ) – Shifted out under pressure near the 100m and bumped with DENIMS. DENIMS – Slow to begin and knuckled soon after the start. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. Cast the off-hind plate during the run. MAGIC PALACE – Slow to begin. DEVIL – Jumped awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Over raced through the early and middle stages. Race 3: GREEN STEEL BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1600 metres LOVING MISS – Jockey Ashley Butler advised that the mare failed to travel well at any point during the run and proved to be disappointing. Co-Trainer Tom Button advised that he did not feel the mare backed up from racing six days prior and would now most likely be spelled. A post-race veterinary examination of LOVING MISS failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. CRAIGLEA AGENA – Slow to begin. Shifted out under pressure over the final stages. HYPERION STAR (NZ) – Slow to begin. Inclined to lay out under pressure over the final 300m. MILKY ROCKET – Over raced through the early stages. Had to be steadied off heels near the 700m. MARNDARRA – Laid outwards through the early stages. Race 4: G & L DUNNETT PLASTERBOARD Class 6 Handicap 1200 metres Correct weight was delayed until jockey Justin Stanley (BERING SEA) had viewed replays of the concluding stages. After viewing the replays Mr Stanley declined to proceed with the matter and correct weight was declared on the judge’s numbers. STARSONIC – Over raced early stages. Shifted out under pressure over the final stages. SABOR – Raced ungenerously and laid in under pressure over the final 400m. WIT – Fractious prior to the start. ORNATE – Slow to begin and was inconvenienced shortly after the start. Laid in under pressure over the final 400m. Race 5: CAPREWIND Maiden Plate 1400 metres EMPIRE CLUB – Slow to begin. JEITOSO – Raced wide throughout. MISHANI PATRIOT – Raced wide over the early stages. MOONSCAPE – Slow to begin. Apprentice Melea Castle was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to her mount on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted (11th offence). DOOTHAKARMICHAEL – Slow to begin before improving forward shortly after the jump. Trainer Ricky Vale, when questioned, advised that the gelding was able to be ridden more positive today by comparison to its last start. Mr Vale stated that the addition of blinkers and a lack of genuine pace was a contributing factor when determining how the horse was to be ridden. ANGELS LANDING – Slow to begin and was inconvenienced shortly afterwards. PLAYING HOOKIE – Slow to begin. Race 6: GREAT NORTHERN RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1200 metres KAMARCHER – Slow into stride. Jockey Justin Stanley advised, that despite his urgings the gelding was unable to maintain contact with the field during the early stages and once able to gain momentum run on reasonably well over the final 500m. OH SO REWARDING – Began awkwardly. Jockey Jackson Murphy was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to his mount on 7 occasions prior to the 100m, 2 more than permitted (2nd offence). GOLDEN ATHENA – Jumped awkwardly and was slow to begin. Race 7: TAB QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1050 metres CAPITAL INVESTMENT – Bumped with PRETTY SLICK at the start. Checked racing around the turn at the 900m. THE LAST SAGA – Slow to begin. Checked rounding the turn near the 900m. THE COMPANY – Jumped in at the start bumping with CASHWAY. Checked rounding turn near the 900m.KURYAKIN – Bumped after the start with AZURE DE LAGO.BETTALATETHANNEVER – Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly revealed lameness to the near foreleg and as a result has been stood down from racing pending receipt of a veterinary clearance.
