Race 1: CAPRICORNIA YEARLING SALE QTIS Two-Year-Old MaidenHandicap 1100 metres MISTREY EMPEROR – Jumped in the air at the start. Bumped near the 350m. Hung in under pressure over the final 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor abrasion to the off foreleg. Jockey Jason Taylor was fined $200 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to his mount on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.PARA PARK CHANCE – Slow to begin. REGAL SPY – Jumped inwards at the start bumping with HEDON’TWANTME. MOUNT MARGARET – Hung in under pressure in the home straight. LEIBERT LASS – Bumped near the 350m. HEDON'TWANTME – Bumped after the start. Tired noticeably over the final stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Race 2: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MULLY GREEN BENCHMARK 65 Handicap1050 metres CHAMELEON CHOICE – Jockey Ryan Wiggins explained that the gelding did not feel overly fluent in its action and attributed this to the apparent disappointing performance when beaten 7.6 lengths into 6th and last placing. Trainer Nick Walsh stated that the gelding did perform well under expectations however could offer no tangible reason. The trainer further advised that other runners within his stable had recently suffered minor viral infections and he intended to have follow up veterinary examinations conducted, inclusive of an endoscopic examination. The trainer further added that he would report any anomalies that may be detected in the ensuing days. A post-race veterinary examination of CHAMELEON CHOICE failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities apart from a poorer than expected recovery. POTENT VIEW – Hung in under pressure over the final 300m. FIVE BULLS – Jockey Jason Taylor advised that his mount did not travel overly well during the run and felt flat. Trainer Clinton Taylor advised that he was not overly disappointed with the performance of his runner considering the tempo of the race and closing sectional times recorded. The trainer further advised that the gelding had pulled up showing no ill effects from the run. An intended post-race veterinary examination was unable to be conducted due to the vet being delayed with other duties and the horse being removed from the course once the required timeframe had expired. DAUNTING PRINCESS – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Race 3: ST PATRICK'S DAY TICKETS ON SALE Class 2 Handicap 1200 metres BAYERISCHE – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Disappointed for a run near the 200m. THISLAND IS MYLAND – Hung in under pressure over the final 200m. FAR REACHING – Began awkwardly. Carried wider leaving the 200m. Apprentice Melea Castle was reminded of her obligation to ensure her mounts are ridden out fully to the finish. TOY BLAZE – Jockey Nicole Vuille was reprimanded under AR131(a) for carelessly allowing her mount to shift out under hard riding leaving the 200m, resulting in FAR REACHING being carried wider. Jockey Vuille was fined $200 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to her mount on 8 occasions prior to the 100m, 3 more than permitted. Race 4: NEW LOOK CALLAGHAN PARK RATINGS BAND 0 - 58Handicap 1600 metres TONTEIN – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. ALEACO – Raced three wide early. BATTLE – Raced keenly during the middle stages. THE FRINGE – Slow to begin. Race 5: ST PADDY'S FASHIONS ON THE FIELD Maiden Plate1400 metres STAR OF THE DESERT – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Raced wide throughout. IKIGAI STAR – Pulled hard during the middle stages when leading. LEVALET – Slow to begin. BEAN GOOD – Raced keenly during the early stages. MISHANI PLATINUM – Raced wide throughout. READYENTIME – Over raced during the early stages. Race 6: LUCK OF THE IRISH PAVILION QTIS JEWEL QUALIFIER 3YOPlate 1100 metres MINOKAWA – Faultered rounding the home turn and then shifted out making contact with PRETTY SLICK, resulting in that runner being checked. PRETTY SLICK – Bumped on the hind quarters rounding the home turn and become unbalanced for some distance losing momentum. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Jockey Ryan Wiggins was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to his mount on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted. STREET GLORY – Inconvenienced rounding the home turn. Held up for clear running until leaving the 250m. THE STORM – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
