Jockey T Brooker was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to her mount on seven occasions prior to the 100m two more than permitted.IMAGINE THAT – Began very awkwardly resulting jockey becoming noticeably unbalanced and almost being dislodged. Rider dropped whip prior to the 100m. GABRIELLE – Slow to begin. Trainer A Jones was reprimanded under AR106(2) when the mare was presented not wearing a tongue tie. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils. The mare is banned from racing for three months and until the completion of a 1000m gallop in the presence of stewards under the previous of AR79(4). Race 7: FLEXICOMMERCIAL Class 6 Plate 1600 metresCorrect weight was delayed allowing Jockey J Murphy CIAO BICKY to view the photo finish for first. After viewing the photo Mr Murphy was satisfied with the result and correct weight was declared. CIAO BICKY – Raced keenly early and middle stages.KOTABHARU – Held up for clear running in the initial stages of the home straight. Jockey C Whiteley was queried to whether he gave consideration to taking and inside run leaving the 400m rather than switching wider. Mr Whiteley stated that KOTABHARU is not a horse that performs well on the inside of other runners, so he opted to shift wider. Mr Whiteley also stated that the mare only has a 200m sprint and felt he had ample opportunity to finish in the best possible placing when obtaining clear running for the final 250m. When considering the statement made by the rider, stewards did not feel the tactics adopted were unreasonable in the circumstances and KOTABHARU was ridden in a consistent manner.HYPERION STAR (NZ) – Slow to begin.
