GENERAL
Overweight was permitted as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
Track upgraded to Good 4 retrospectively following the running of race 1.
 
Race 1: 1 ROCKHAMPTON RACING AWARDS 7 SEPTEMBER Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
THE EIGHTH I AM – Raced wide throughout. Inclined to hang in for the majority.
 
YANDOOBIE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination behind the barriers and was cleared to start. Jockey J. Stanley reported that his mount laid in over the concluding 600m.
 
BOLD SMUGGLER – Raced keenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
LUVIN' OUR GRACE – Began awkwardly as a result slow to begin. Laid in over the concluding 200m.
 
DOOM DIVA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination behind the barriers and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight. Shifted out leaving the 300m to obtain clear racing room. Jockey J. Huxtable pled guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(5) for his use of the whip 19 times in totality, 4 more than permitted. He was subsequently suspended for a period of 7 days starting M/N 26th of august till M/N 2nd September.
 
REGAL FIELD – Impeded on jumping by SUPER ROOSTER as a result was slow to begin.
 
KAYTEE REINADO – Apprentice S. Callow was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip 8 times prior to the 100m, 3 more than permitted.
 
SUPER ROOSTER – Jumped in upon jumping impeding REGAL FIELD. Slow to begin.
 
Following the running of race 1 the track was upgraded to a good 4 retrospectively.
 
Race 2: TAB Maiden Handicap 1050 metres
 
GULF OF SIDRA – Jumped in at the start bumping DIVINE KAMEHALANI. Slow to begin.
 
LADY LONGPOCKETS – Shifted wider leaving the 500m to obtain clear racing room. Laid in under pressure over the concluding 100m. Apprentice D. McGillivray was reprimanded for careless riding under AR131(a) for failing to correct his mount when laying in over the concluding stages resulting in DIVINE KAMEHALANI being checked on and immediately after the finish line.
 
FRESH POWDER – Overreacted and stepped in for a stride when MISHANI CAPTIVE shifted in abruptly.
 
SWEET CATENA – Raced wide early. Jockey W. Satherley was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed minor lacerations to the near hind leg of no significance.
 
BETTER OFF SINGLE – Laid out under pressure for the majority of the home straight. Laid out over the concluding 100m. Jockey J. Huxtable was reprimanded under AR132(5) for his use of the whip 15 times in totality, 1 more than permitted. Jockey J. Huxtable was reprimanded for careless riding under AR131(a) for failing to correct his mount when shifting out over the concluding stages resulting in DIVINE KAMEHALANI being checked on and immediately after the finish line.
 
DIVINE KAMEHALANI – Bumped upon jumping by GULF OF SIDRA. Raced wide throughout. Tightened and checked immediately prior to the finish by BETTER OFF SINGLE and LADY LONGPOCKETS.
 
MISHANI CAPTIVE – Raced wide throughout. Shifted in abruptly off the heels of tiring SECRET SONNETS.
 
ROSE ALICE – Began awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Brushed the running rail passing the 800m.
 
SECRET SONNETS – Laid in under pressure from the 300m.
 
 
Race 3: WARREN OATES CARPENTRY QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1100 metres
 
ONOMATOPOEIA – Slow to begin.
 
PAPASITO – Jumped in at the start impeding MISHANI TWILIGHT.
 
KARAKAROO – Began awkwardly resulting in jockey C. Whiteley becoming unbalanced momentarily.
 
CRYPTESS – Raced wide throughout.
 
SEA MUD 'N' SUN – Slow to begin.
 
KING ALE – Began awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
MISHANI TWILIGHT – Impeded upon jumping by PAPSITO as a result slow to begin.
 
MISHANI TYCOON – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 4: PAT O'DRISCOLL REAL ESTATE OPEN Handicap 1300 metres
 
THE GENERAL (NZ) – Began awkwardly.
 
MOENAVE – Slow to begin. Raced wide early. When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted Jockey J. Murphy stated that after being slow to begin, he elected to progress forward due to the tempo being only moderate, however this resulted in his mount racing 3 wide for a considerable distance which in his view had an impact on his horse’s finishing efforts. The jockey further advised that despite enduring more work than anticipated MOENAVE was placed under noticeable pressure with 600m to travel and failed to finish the race off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
 
SANTORINI SUMMER – Slow into stride. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted Jockey A. Layt advised that he did not want to expose SANTORINI SUMMER early in the home straight and elected to take a sit until the 400m when he shifted in to obtain clear racing room. Jockey advised he had originally intended to shift wider however due to MOENAVE commencing to yield ground in advance of him he elected to persist with runs to the inside. When considering the statement of Jockey Layt, Stewards could not be satisfied that the tactics adopted had any detrimental effects on his mounts chances and noted his explanation.
 
 
 
Race 5: GREAT NORTHERN RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1100 metres
 
SWISS ELEMENT – Jockey J. Stanley reported that his mount hung out under pressure over the concluding 400m.
 
ELESPRIT MISS – Began awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
 
CRAIG AND HOFF – Began awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Carried wider on the track passing the 500m when ASHERLA shifted wider on the track. Laid in under pressure from the 400m.
 
MATERIAL MISTRESS- laid in through the early stages of the home straight.

PINOCCHIO LASS – Raced ungenerously when being restrained through the early stages.
 
ASHERLA – Jumped in the air at the start and slow to begin as a result. Shifted out passing the 500m to obtain clear racing room carrying CRAIG AND HOFF wider on the track.
 
CANTOR – Slow to begin.
 
 
 
Race 6: JAIME PARNELL PSYCHOLOGY RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1500 metres
 
PALATIAL PRINCE – Held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
 
TELL THE WORLD – Stood flat footed upon jumping as a result very slow to begin. Trainer C. Smith was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding for standing flat footed in the barriers.
 
BOLD HUSSAR – Slow to begin.
 
SHADOW PROJECT – Apprentice S. Callow advised that in her opinion the gelding may not genuinely achieve the 1500m of todays race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
THE BRUMBY – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
BONAUGURA – Began awkwardly and as a result slow to begin.
 
OUR IRISH EMPEROR – Blundered on jumping. Bled one nostril, trainer B. Trimble was advised the gelding would be stood down from racing until it has completed a 1000m gallop to the satisfaction of stewards.
 
READYENTIME – Slow to begin. Help up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight. Jockey W. Satherley was fined $300 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip 8 times prior to the 100m, 3 more than permitted.
 
SENSATIONABULL – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
 
 
Race 7: REES R & SYDNEY JONES Class 2 Handicap 1300 metres
 
SERGEANT HULKA – Began awkwardly.
 
EXALTED CROWN – Slow to begin.
 
REDWANA – Fractious to load. Began awkwardly and slow into stride as a result. Raced wide throughout. Tired noticeably over the concluding stages. Trainer G. Bell advised that the gelding was first up after a spell and was very agitated which she believes was detrimental in todays run, she also advised that she would look to make gear alterations prior to its next start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be initially showing signs of a luxating patella however upon further examination this condition was not further disclosed.
 
JUNGLE BEAT – Jockey C. Whiteley was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip 7 times prior to the 100m, 2 more than permitted.
 
GILBERT'S GOLD – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages.
