SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Stewards inquired into the circumstances where licensed jockey/trainers Tasha Chambers and Warwick Satherley purchased yearlings at the 2024 Capricornia Yearling Sale conducted on Sunday 7 April 2024.
Both parties admitted that they had failed to seek written permission from the principal Racing Authority to purchase yearlings in accordance with the provisions of AR118, however were of the view that they were acting under the Trainer component of their respective dual licenses.
Considering the dual license status of Ms Chambers and Mr Satherley and the method of purchasing the horses at the sale, stewards were satisfied that the actions of both parties were open and transparent therefore they were advised for future reference, that when looking to be actively involved in the purchase of registered bloodstock they must first seek written permission in advance.

MACKAY – PAPASITO – A BUTLER - 12TH APRIL 2024 – R2 QTIS 3YR C2 – 1100M
Stewards concluded the inquiry into the ride of PAPASITO over the final stages of Race 2 at Mackay on the 12th April 2024. Stewards had adjourned the inquiry to obtain betting reports regarding the race as well as obtaining further information relevant to the ride. Stewards had since received and examined those reports, which identified no matters of concerns.
After taking consideration into all evidence, stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the actions of Jockey Butler had cost his mount further placings in the event. Stewards reminded Jockey Butler of his obligations of a senior jockey to ensure in future any actions of his during events have no reason to be brought into question or disrepute.
