SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
As C Bryen was to be overweight, he was replaced in races 1,2,4 and 7 as per the Stewards Summary. Jockey Bryen was fined $300.
RACE 1: WILLIAMS HALL CHADWICK MAIDEN PLATE 2-Y-O & UP 1000M-
SILENT RAGE- Trainer J Wehlow was fined $100 for failing to produce the I.D for the horse when required.
LOWER- Prior to the declaration of Correct Weight Stewards considered an application by Apprentice H English to be declared a non-runner on the grounds of being denied a fair start. After hearing submissions from Apprentice English and viewing the patrol films Stewards found the LOWER put its head down as the barriers opened and lost considerable ground. As Stewards were satisfied that the LOWERS own actions were the sole reason for it losing ground at the start the application to be declared a non-runner was denied.  Trainer G Richardson was advised that a warning will be issued against LOWER in relation to its barrier manners.
KAPACHINO MISS- Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
FLAMBOYANT MISS- A post-race Veterinary Inspection of the horse, which tailed off revealed the horse to have lost an off fore plate and to mildly sore in the near fore leg.
JUST DYNAMITE- Raced wide throughout.
 
RACE 2: MCINNES WILSON LAWYERS CLASS 1 H’CAP 1000M-
 
AND JUBILATIONS- As S Sheargold was to be overweight, he was replaced by J Rudd. Jockey Sheargold was fined $100.
DUBLE MEANING- Eased shortly after the start when placed in restricted room.
STRIVE TO SUCCEED- Near the 700m was forced to check to avoid the heels of AND JUBILATIONS which shifted in when not completely clear. J Rudd the rider of AND JUBILATIONS was reprimanded as a result of this incident.
MR BOXVALE- Forced wider on the track by another runner near the 700m.
CONSTELLATION MISS- Commenced to hang out from the 600m and shifted wider on the track. A post-race Veterinary Inspection revealed the horse to be significantly lame in the off fore knee. Trainer B Waldron will be advised he is required to obtain a Veterinary Certificate for the horse prior to it next racing. In light of the Veterinary report, Stewards took no action in relation to the horse hanging out.
DOUBLE DOLLARS- Commenced to lay in in the home straight when placed under pressure, and near the 100m was eased and lost some ground when straightened by its rider.
 
RACE 3: LADBROOKS BUTCHERY/GOODYEAR AUTOCARE ROMA TYRE & BATTERY BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP 1640M-
MADAM AUBERGE- Trainer S Rodgers advised that from the good barrier today he would instruct the rider to attempt to ride the horse in a more forward position then recent starts. After beginning awkwardly, the horse settled in the 2nd half of the field. Made the turn out of the home straight on the first occasion awkwardly.
MONSIEUR HUGHES- Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
FINNIGAN’S FOLLY- Began awkwardly.
MURPHY’S HUSTLER- Raced wide throughout.
BUCKIN THE BLUES- Tightened for room and checked near the 100m. At a subsequent inquiry Apprentice M McGillivray pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the terms of AR137(a) in that as the rider of MY FLING he permitted his mount to shift out near the 100m when insufficiently clear of BUCKIN THE BLUES which was tightened for room and checked to avoid the heels of MY FLING. Apprentice McGillivray’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 26 November 2016 and to expire at midnight 4 December 2016.

RACE 4: COCA COLA BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1640M-
PARANA- Began awkwardly. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
LANDALE- Began awkwardly.
ROYAL FROLIC- Checked after becoming awkwardly placed at the heels of IL PARDRONE near the 600m when that runner commenced to yield ground.
IL PADRONE- Raced with its head in the air whilst being restrained in the early stages.
 
RACE 5: ROMA TRANSPORT/LJ HOOKER BENCHMARK 65 H’CAP 1200M-
ONEHUNDREDCLICKS- Declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards acting on Veterinary Advice at 3:08pm after the horse dislodged its rider upon entering the track and as a result galloped 2 circuits of the track riderless.
Upon the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on ONEHUNDREDCLICKS be refunded with the following deductions to apply to all successful win and place wagers placed prior to 3:08pm-
1st-9cents the win 22cents the place.
2nd- 20cents the place
3rd-19cents the place.
TRUE JOY- Blundered badly upon jumping away almost dislodging its rider placing him at a disadvantage in the early stages. As a result lost considerable ground.
RHIATENN ROAD- Checked to avoid heels leaving the 1100m. At a subsequent inquiry Apprentice H English was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the terms of AR137(a) in that as the rider of PURE SUNSET she failed to make sufficient effort to prevent her mount from shifting in leaving the 1100m resulting in PLATTERS, GOLD BONANZA, SPURRED UP all being placed in restricted room and RHIATENN ROAD which was racing on the fence to be checked to avoid heels. Apprentice English’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days to commence midnight 22 November 2016 and to expire at midnight 1 December 2016.
Stewards inquired into an incident near the 1050m whereby PURE SUNSET, PLATTERS and GOLD BONANZA where all placed in restricted room to varying degrees. Subsequently Apprentice J Brand was reprimanded for shifting in when completely clear of the runners to her inside.
RHIATENN ROAD- Checked when placed in restricted room to the inside of GOLD BONANZA near the 600m when that horse hung in despite the efforts of its rider.  
PlATTERS- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
WICKED WOODY- Raced wide throughout.
RACE 6: ROMA EXPLORERS INN RATING BAND 0-55 H’CAP 1200M-
FERRIGNO- J Rudd was the replacement rider for the horse.
RHYTHM NATION-Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
LITTLE JATZ- Tightened for room at the start and again shortly after the start resulting in the horse losing ground.
COCONUT BAY- Raced in restricted room near the 1100m.
OUR DEB- Raced wide throughout.
FERRIGNO- Held up and unable to improve for some distance passing the 600m.
GO SAI- Tightened for room and checked approaching the finish line. At a subsequent inquiry Apprentice J Brand pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the terms of AR137(a) in that she permitted her mount to shift in, approaching the winning post, whilst being ridden along when insufficiently clear of GO SAI which was checked to avoid that runner’s heels. Apprentice Brand’s license to ride in race was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence midnight 19 November 2016 and to expire at midnight 26 December 2016. In assessing penalty Stewards noted that this was apprentice Brand’s first careless riding suspension in her career.
 
RACE 7: ROYAL ON 99 ROMA CUP OPEN H’CAP 1640M-
Shortly after acceptances were released for the meeting on 17 December 2016, the starting time of this event was amended to 4:36pm.
PREEN QUEEN- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
STOP CRYING- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
CRAWFISH- Eased when tightened for room passing the 1100m.
BELLE EXPRESS- Checked to avoid heels near the 1500m. Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained near the winning post on the first occasion.
BLUE JEST- Shifted very wide on the track in the home straight whilst being placed under pressure.
SPICE OF LIFE- Apprentice L Tilley was fined $100 for making a celebratory gesture prior to the finish of the event.  
RACE 8: XXXX GOLD/BOYD HARMS MEMORIAL OPEN H’CAP 1000M-
TORERO- Blundered badly upon jumping away dislodging Apprentice L Tilley. Apprentice Tilley was transported to hospital for further treatment.
SHOULDA TO SHOULDA- Buffeted between runner’s on jumping away.
TISANI TOMSO- Raced wide without cover throughout the event.
