Sheehan RACE 1: EZYQUIP MAIDEN PLATE 1000M GRAN SABANA – Bumped at the start. GRAND EDGEROI – Began awkwardly and bumped another runner. CHARLIE’S DUST – Bumped at the start. WHITE TRUFFLES – Began awkwardly, bumped another runner and raced wide for the majority of the event. LORD RUSSEL – Raced wide for the majority of the event. RACE 2: BRENORRS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1640M BOJOURA – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the event. DAWN FIGHTER – Raced 4 wide without cover for the majority of the event. PATCHE GIFT – Raced wide without cover from the 900m. MY MATE MARTO- On returning to scale Apprentice J Brand reported that the gelding failed to run out the 1640m of today’s event. RACE 3: AGL QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200M LE CHARIOTEER – Began awkwardly and bumped another runner at the start. Raced wide without cover throughout. HARVEY DENT – Tightened for room at the start. ZOOMESDAY - Tightened for room at the start. ECHOING - Tightened for room at the start. ELEGANT MISS – On return to scale jockey P. Romeo reported that approaching the first turn near the 900m, the bit pulled through the mouth of the filly and as a result took no competitive part in the event. Trainer B. Fitzgerald advised that the filly performs all trackwork in this bit however in light of today’s incident he gave an undertaking to stewards that he would now experiment with the horses bit prior to next start. Post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. RACE 4: ROMA FEEDLOT AND SPELLING YARDS CLASS 6 PLATE 1200M KING OF THE FLAME – Tightened for room at the start. LOFN – Raced wide without cover from the 900m. CUBAN FURY – At the 600m laid in and away from another runner making contact with the running rail and as a result lost ground. SANKARA SPIRIT – On return to scale app. N. Morton reported that the gelding failed to muster any early speed and in her opinion appreciates further distance than that of today’s event. RACE 5:XXXX GOLD RACE TO ROMA OPEN HANDICAP – FINAL 1640M RHIATENN ROAD – Tightened for room at the start. On return to scale jockey P. Romeo reported that the mare hung in for a majority on the event. FAST FELLA – Made contact with the running rail passing the wining post on the first occasion. CRAWFISH – Raced wide during the early and middle stages. AUSTRALIAN VENTURE – Raced wide with cover for a majority of the event. RACE 6:ROMA CONTAINERS/ROMA STATE COLLEGE BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1200M Start of the race was delayed when SOPHIE’S DESTINY proved difficult to load. Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by W Baker in relation the late rider declaration for EIGHT CHANCE. SOPHIE’S DESTINY - Shifted out at the start and bumped another runner. EREBOR - Bumped by another runner on jumping away. Raced wide throughout. GUD ONYA – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout the event. QUEEN CARLEY – Raced wide throughout.
