Subsequently was fined $500. Stewards ordered that apprentice Graham increase her riding weight in light of her recent poor recorded in relation to weight related matters.RACE 1: SAVANNA ENERGY QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 900MStart of this race was initially delayed for an interstate event.Start was further delayed when TWIST EDGEROI proved difficult to load. Stable representative S. Watkins was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s record. Start was further delayed again when MI INSTINCT became fractious in the barriers, was removed and underwent a veterinary examination declared a late scratching at 12:58pm on veterinary advice. On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on MI INSTINCT be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers:22 cents in the dollar for the win #519 cents in the dollar for place of winner #522 cants in the dollar for 2nd place #1112 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #7JABBS – On return to scale Apprentice N. Fazackerly reported that the gelding did not travel comfortably at any stage of the event.MISS SIDUAL – Began awkwardly. Steadied when tightened for room by TWIST EDGEROI which was taken in by EDENANNIE which shifted in after being bumped by THE SCOOP which hung in despite the efforts of its rider. Apprentice B. Nothdurft could not offer any explanation for the poor performance other than the filly resented the kickback during the event.MISHANI VAIDRA – Made the home turn wide and laid in during the home straight. EDENANNIE – Dipped on jumping.GOLD CROWN – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Apprentice D. Graham accidentally dropped her whip near the 50m.RACE 2: MCINNES WILSON LAWYERS CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000MLOCKOUT – On return to scale Apprentice Q. Krogh reported that the mare did not handle the prevailing track conditions.ECHOING – Made the home turn very wide. Laid in during the home straight.WRAPPED IN BLUE – Lost its near side winker in running.RACE 3: NUGROW BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200MGUD ONYA – Blundered badly on jumping away almost dislodging its rider and lost considerable ground.MISS DELIMA – Fractious in barriers. In light of today’s poor performance Trainer L. Baker advised that mare would be spelled.SPUR WITH EASE – Shortly after the start shifted in and bumped EXTRATUM.EXTRATUM - Bumped shortly after the start by SPUR WITH EASE.SHEEZALADY- On jumping shifted out and bumped WHISPERING DEATH.WHISPERING DEATH- On jumping bumped by SHEEZALADY.RACE 4: WILLIAMS HALL CHADWICK MAIDEN PLATE 1200MMISHANI KAHN – Began awkwardly and lost ground. ARCTIC CIRCLE – Bucked shortly after the start, lost considerable ground and took no competitive part in the event. Trainer B. Waldron was advised that the filly will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial prior to racing again.LORD WINDERMERE – On return to scale apprentice B. Nothdurft advised that the gelding did not handle the sand racing surface.OTTIS – On jumping was tightened for room badly and become unbalanced.PURE ATOM – On jumping was tightened for room badly, become unbalanced losing ground and failed to muster early speed.GOODY’S GAL – Began awkwardly and shifted in.BOLD TEMPTATIONS- Slow to muster early speed.Rider C. Bryen (OTTIS) was dislodged on pulling up when his horse shied out unexpectedly. Apprentices N. Morton (SIDEREUS SMILE) and A. Spinks (GOODY’S GAL) were also dislodged when taking evasive action to avoid the riderless horse. Acting under the provisions of AR. 142 stewards declared correct weight not withstanding that it was impractical for rider C. Bryen and apprentice N. Morton to weigh in. Apprentices A. Spinks and N. Morton were uninjured in the event however C. Bryen was stood down from his remaining riding engagements and was advised that he would require a medical clearance prior to race riding again.RACE 5: CANADIAN CLUB/TOX FREE RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1200MDAZZLUNA – Rider J Rudd replaced C. Bryen who was injured in the previous event.CANTON ROAD – Difficult to load delaying the start. Trainer C. Smith was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s record.SCRIPTS – On return to scale apprentice B. Nothdurft expressed disappointment with the performance, however in his opinion the mare which had the tongue tie off for today’s event had chocked down when placed under pressure and felt that was the reason for the poor performance. He added that recommended to the trainer to reapply the tongue tie to the horses gear.SANJAY – Declared late scratching at 1:55pm on veterinary advice.RACE 6: OILCORP FUELS IMOBILE 1 BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1640MPRICELESS DE HERO – On return to scale rider L. Tilley reported that in his opinion the horse raced flat and also felt that the 60kg weight imposed affected the horses performance.BOJOURA – Tightened for room at the start.MURPHY’S HUSTLER – Slow to begin.IBELIEVEICANFLY – Overraced early and middle stages.RACE 7: ROYAL ON 99/ROMA EXPLORERS INN ROMA CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1640MDue to an impending storm the starting time to this event was brought forward to 4:34pm. After the horses arrived in the enclosure stewards formed the opinion that the starting time to this event be brought forward further to 4:28pm. The decision to adjust the starting time on both occasions was made in consultation with the race cub president Mr R. Ferrier, the TAB, SKY Channel and Racing Queensland who were all made aware of prevailing weather conditions.RHYME NOR RHYTHM – Overraced early and middle stages. Apprentice B. Nothdurft could offer no explanation for the seemingly disappointing performance other than the horse in his opinion failed to handle the sand track. He also added that on return to the enclosure the horse had its tongue over the bit.CONGELATOR – Rider N. Evans accidently dropped his whip near the 150m.Directly following correct weight a significant rain event occurred which immediately made the track unsuitable for racing.
