GENERAL
 
Apprentice N. Morton was fined $100 under AR.92(12) for failing to claim her full allowance on two occasions. Apprentice Morton was replaced in race three by Apprentice D. Graham.
 
RACE 1: MIDWEST RURAL TRADERS MAIDEN PLATE – 1000m
 
MOHAKA RIVER – Reared in barriers. Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 1:36pm. Stewards ordered that all monies invested in MOHAKA RIVER be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
  3 cents in the dollar for the win - #7
18 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #7
14 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – # 9
20 cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - # 6
 
Trainer W. Baker was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding.
 
PART THE SEA – Raced four wide no cover throughout.
 
SEA PRAISE – Began awkwardly.
 
MIZ NAZAR – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
RACE 2: TAURUS ACCOUNTING BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1000m
 
REVERSE LOGIC – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the outside.
 
ZOOMING OVER YOU – Raced four wide with cover throughout.
 
WONDERFUL TESS – Slow into stride. Raced four wide no cover throughout.
 
 
RACE 3: BRANDON AND ASSOCIATES CLASS B HANDICAP – 1000m
 
LE JEU – Apprentice D. Graham replaced Apprentice N. Morton.
 
 
CHOICE SON – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the outside.
 
SNEAKY SNIPER – Upon returning to scale apprentice S. Barlow reported that her mount was inclined to lay in throughout the event.
 
 
RACE 4: BENDEMERE CONSTRUCTIONS BENDEMERE CUP OPEN PLATE – 1000m
 
Following the running of race three Jockey J. Rudd was assessed by the Queensland Ambulance Service and was stood down due to injury to his left ankle for the remainder of the event. Replacements as per Stewards Summary. Jockey Rudd was advised he would need to obtain a further medical certificate prior to returning to race riding.
 
FERRIGNO – Upon returning to scale, Jockey S. Sheargold reported that the gelding failed to respond when placed under pressure and in his opinion failed to handle the surface of today’s event.
 
RACE 5: BENDEMERE SHIRE BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1200m
 
PARANA – Apprentice S. Barlow replaced Jockey J. Rudd due to no other riders being available.
 
WONDERFUL WALLY – Began awkwardly.
 
DENMAN DUDE – Raced four wide no cover throughout.
