RACE 1: UNICO MAIDEN PLATE - 1000M
 
BRAYD HEART- Reared over upon entering the track and was subsequently declared a late scratching by order of Stewards acting on Veterinary advice at 1:03pm. Upon the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on BRAYD HEART be refunded with the following deductions to apply-
 
1st- 8 cents the win, 9 cents the place.
2nd- 6cents the place.
3rd- 8 cents the place.
 
MI INSTINCT- Bumped on jumping away.
 
JABBS- Began awkwardly and lost ground. Brushed the running rail near the 600m and became unbalanced. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
GRATSIE- Slow to begin.
 
 
RACE 2: SLATTERY AUCTIONS QTIS 2YO & 3YO MAIDEN H’CAP- 1200M
 
 
SMARTY JACK- Tightened badly on jumping away and lost ground. Raced wide with cover for the majority.
 
PABULUM- Began awkwardly.
 
EDENANNIE- Raced wide for the majority.
 
THE SCOOP- Raced wide without cover throughout. Laid in for the majority.
 
SMOKEY DIAMOND- Rider reported the gelding had a tendency to lay in for the majority of the event and was forced to alter course near the 150m to secure clear running.
 
BROWN BROWN- App. Z White advised that the gelding, got it’s tongue back during the event and performed disappointingly. Trainer P. Webster confirmed that the gelding had its tongue back when it returned to scale and advised that he would now apply a tongue tie to the horses gear for its next start.
 
 
RACE 3: AGL LIMITED CLASS 2 PLATE- 1000M
 
SUPER KEAN- Jumped in the air at the start and raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
BRIBE THE WITNESS- Slow to begin.
 
CHOICE SON- Raced wide without cover throughout. Stewards questioned App. N Morton in relation to her riding of the gelding in the home straight. App. Morton advised Stewards that the gelding, despite being wide, travelled comfortably during the event, however when placed under pressure immediately commenced to hang in and proved difficult to ride out. She added that the gelding has a history of laying in when placed under pressure in its races and for that reason is better suited when placed on the rail rather the asked to improve in the middle of the track as it was forced to do on this occasion. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
HARVEY DENT- Forced to steady from heels whilst laying in near the 50m.
 
 
RACE 4: ROMA CONTAINERS SALES & HIRE RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 H’CAP - 1200M
 
 
PSYCHO SAID SO- Raced wide throughout.
 
DUKE OF YORK- Hung out for the majority of the event.
 
BOAZ- Slow to begin and brushed the running rail near the 700m.
 
RELNINO- Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
SHEAR VOGUE- Jockey B Appo stated that the mare never travelled strongly at any stage during the event could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with trainer J Gleeson in the days following today’s meeting in relation to the mares post-race recovery.
 
RACE 5:EZYQUIP CLASS 6 PLATE - 1200M
 
IT’S WANTED- Began awkwardly.
 
SAN VINCENZO- Steadied when placed in restricted room near the 1200m. App. N Morton’s whip broke passing the 200m.
 
PALACE TYCOON- Raced wide throughout.
 
DAYTIME DANCER- Raced wide throughout.
 
MICKEY DAZZLER- Steadied when placed in restricted leaving the 600m.
 
 
RACE 6:XXXX GOLD RACE TO ROMA - FINAL - OPEN HANDICAP - 1640M
 
DE VILLIERS- Bumped on jumping away. App. N Fazackerley advised Stewards that the gelding travelled comfortably during the event however when placed under pressure at the 700m, failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. A Post race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer L Baker could offer no explanation in relation to the performance however undertook to advise stewards in coming days if anything became apparent which may have affected its performance in today’s event.
 
HANOVER SQUARE- Put its head down as the start was effected and lost ground.
 
DENNIS DENUTO- Began awkwardly. Steadied from heels exiting the home straight on the first occasion when REPO ZEST shifted in when not completely clear. App. J Brand the rider of REPO ZEST was advised to exercise more care.
 
JACARANDA PRINCE- Raced very wide without cover throughout.
 
DAWN FIGHTER- App. N Morton advised Stewards prior to the event that she was instructed not to use the whip on the mare.
