GENERAL
 
Due to the abandonment of other race meetings, the starting times for this meeting were amended to as follows-
 
Race 1- 1:08pm
Race 2- 1:43pm

Race 1: EXPLORER’S INN QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200m
 
SHERPA JACK- Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
MOSSET (NZ)- Began awkwardly and lost ground. Jockey L. McCoy and trainer D. Reynolds could offer no tangible explanation for the below market expectation performance of the gelding which Jockey McCoy advised never travelled strongly at any stage during the event.
 
FIRST SLIP- Bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced shortly after the start.
 
SIRATRO- Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
DISCO DOUGIE- Raced wide without cover throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
GREAT BRAVE- Raced extremely wide without cover throughout.
 
SHEZOME- Raced extremely wide with cover throughout, and was forced wider on the track by another runner rounding the home turn.
 
Race 2: IRON JACK OPEN HANDICAP – 1200m
 
MIDNIGHT MATINEE- Raced wide throughout.
 
SCRABBLE (NZ)- Slow to begin.
 
THE CONSIGLIERE- Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
MALIBU AFFAIR- When questioned as to the below market expectation performance of the gelding App. D. McGillivray advised that after obtaining a forward position in the early stages the gelding commenced to over race when pressured by runners to his outside. He went on to say that passing the 500m when THE CONSIGLIERE improved forward of him, his mount failed to quicken and from this point commenced to weaken. Trainer C. Smith expressed disappointment in the performance of the gelding, however could offer no tangible explanation for the run. Mr Smith advised that he would now monitor the geldings post race recovery before making a determination in relation to its racing future. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
Race 3: ROYAL ON 99 OPEN HANDICAP – 1200m  
 
MONEY AD- Over raced during the early stages. When questioned as to the below market expectation performance of the mare App. A. Bakos advised that the mare over raced during the early and middle stages which in her opinion was a factor in it failing to run on in the home straight. She added that in her opinion stepping up in distance from 1200m last start, to the 1640m of todays event was also a contributing factor to the horses disappointing performance.
 
SNIPFIT- Hung out badly and shifted wider on the track rounding the turn near the 1200m.
 
MY COUSIN BOSSY- Began awkwardly. Tightened for room badly shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
ON THE BOSSA NOVA- Tightened for room badly shortly after the start and lost ground. Forced wider on the track by another runner near the 1200m and then continued to race wide for the remainder.
 
SIDETRIP- Approaching the winning post on the first occasion clipped heels and blundered when awkwardly placed at heels whilst over racing. When questioned as to the below market expectation performance of the gelding App. D. Graham advised that in her opinion the gelding over racing during the early and middle stages was the major contributing factor in it failing to run on in the home straight particularly bearing in mind that is was stepping up in distance from 1000m last start, to the 1640m of todays event.
 
GUD ONYA- Forced wider on the track by another runner near the 1200m. Held up approaching the home turn.
 
 
Race 4: XXXX GOLD RATINGS BAND 0-60 HANDICAP– 1640m
 
AKLAVIK- Over raced during the early stages.
 
SONA DANCER- Over raced during the early and middle stages.
 
TOTAL TRUCE- Began awkwardly.
 
GREAT SHINE- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
 
Race 5: SNAP FITNESS ROMA BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP - 900m
 
ROCK DANCER- Slow to begin.
 
ALL REIGN- Bumped heavily at the start and lost ground.
 
MISS MOSS- Began awkwardly bumping another runner.
 
EL DEMONIO- Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
POINTSTOHAPPINESS- Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout.  
 
Race 6: XXXX DRY CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200m
 
MONTEVIDEO- Began awkwardly.
 
STATIC LIFT- Near the 400m was disappointed for a run and lost ground.
 
HARAMAIN- Began awkwardly.
 
HER OPTION- Knuckled on jumping. Tightened for room badly shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
PATRICK’S ME MATE- Tightened for room badly shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
RUN PAM RUN- Raced wide during the early stages.
