GENERAL
 
During this race meeting Starter Ms J Harvey reported to Stewards that the barriers had a fault with the electronic start and a manual start had to be undertaken for the entire program.
 
Race 1: NUTRIEN HARCOURTS/SLATTERY AUCTIONS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000M
 
MISTER SWEET-Declared a late scratching at 12:58 for refusing to be loaded. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on MISTER SWEET and for MISS DRAMATIC be refunded in full less the following deductions, LIGHT UP THE DAWN- W-2c and PL-8c, BOP ‘N’ DAN-Pl-9c, SQUAMISH-Pl- 7c. Stewards advised Trainer Mr R Coveney that the gelding would be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to its next start.
 
MUMMIIFICATION- Slow to begin.
 
SQUAMISH- Slow to begin. Stewards when reviewing the start noticed that barrier 5 was marginally slower than the other barriers. Stewards acting under the provision of AR204 declared that SQUAMISH be a runner as it officially finished in 3rd position. Stewards advised Appr Jky M Mankelow of her obligation to report any such incidents to Stewards when returning to scale.
 
ENID- Raced at the rear of the field. Lame near foreleg. A post- race veterinary examination was undertaken with lameness found in the near foreleg. The horse was provided treatment by the attending veterinarian. Acting under the provision of AR75(2) Trainer Mr R Hay was advised that a vet certificate would be required prior to its next start.
 
MISS DRAMATIC- Refused to load. Late scratching at 1:02pm. Trainer Ms L Barnes was advised by Stewards that the mare would be required to Trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to its next start.
 
HINOKI WOOD- Reared as the barriers opened dislodging the rider. Horse became cast in the barriers as the start was affected. Stewards inquiring into the matter acting under the provision of AR204 ordered that the horse was not encumbered equipment or any other outside influence and ordered HINOKI WOOD be declared a starter in this event. Trainer Mr S Rogers was advised that the Filly would require to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to its next start. A post- race veterinary examination was undertaken with multiple abrasions and a small incision located on the nearside hind leg.The horse was treated by the attending veterinarian. Jky Ms H Richardson complained of some soreness in her left leg after the incident. QAS examined Ms Richardson, and she was passed fit to continue riding for the remainder of the program. Ms Richardson gave Stewards an undertaking to report her condition to stewards if it worsens in coming days.
 
Race 2 HALL CHADWICK CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000M
 
EZEIZA- Blundered shortly after the start and lost ground. As a result raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event.
 
TOUGH JUDGE- Bumped by another runner at the start.  Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
ROOM FOR SQUARES- Began awkward.
 
EFFLINE- Slow to begin. Bumped with another runner after the start was affected. Stewards spoke with Jky A Sewell who advised the horse stood flat footed. Stewards advised Trainer Mr. C Smith that a Warning would be placed on the horse.
 
ONE TUNE- Began awkwardly and bumped another runner after the start.
 
BLACK COUNTRY- Raced at the rear of the field for some distance after being tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
SAY WHEN SUTTY- Dipped at the start. Then bumped with TOUGH JUDGE at the start.
 
ONE LAST TRICK- Began awkwardly when jumping out and inconveniencing BLACK COUNTRY.
 
Race 3: FKG CONSULTANTS RATING BAND 0-55 HANDICAP 1200M
 
ACEROD- Laid in after entering the home straight.
 
POWER SISTER- Over raced in the early stages of the event.
 
Race 4: DURACK CIVIL CLASS 5 PLATE 1200m
 
SUBSTITUTION- Began awkwardly.
 
OLD TOWN ROAD- Tightened between runners at the start.
 
BENDOLIRRA- Raced wide from the 800m point and towards the rear of the field for the majority of the event.
 
GRAEWAZI- Began awkwardly jumping out and inconvenienced OLD TOWN ROAD.
 
NOTQUITELIKEJACK- Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority.
 
TATTLE- Slow to begin.
 
Race 5: XXXX ULTRA COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1000M
 
OCEAN EMPEROR- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
HURTLE- Bumped by another runner at the start and then tightened between runners shortly after the start was affected as a result raced at the rear of the field for the majority.
 
SCARZEL- Laid in during the early stages before being corrected by the rider.
 
DIGGITY- Blundered at the start.
 
CAPITAL REIGN- Began awkwardly and bumped HURTLE at the start. Raced keenly during the early stages.
 
Race 6: CLUB HOTEL COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUALIFIER/ROMA CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1640M
 
SUNFALL- Raced wide for the majority.
 
STAMPEDE WARRIOR- On returning to scale Appr Jky T Leslight advised Stewards that the gelding had a laceration on its near rear leg and bleeding profusely. The Gelding was examined and subsequently treated by the attending Veterinarian and found a small cut located on the near stifle. Acting under AR75(2) Stewards notified Trainer Mr B Johnson that the horse would require a Veterinary Certificate prior to racing again.
 
PESHWA- Laid out in the home straight before being corrected by the rider.
 
Race 7: McINNES WILSON/ MITCHELL WATER BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1640M
 
WAITAKERE-Raced wide for the majority.
 
OAKFIELD TARGET- After beginning well and racing in a handy position for the majority began to lose ground from the 500m and weakened out of the event. Stewards ordered a post-race Vet examination, and this examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
PROUD WITH PRIDE- Bumped with another runner at the start. Raced wide for the majority.
 
PACKAGE- Bumped with another runner at the start.
 
MY DAY- Raced wide for the majority.
